A pretty unique Necromancer build

Hi everyone, I was just wondering about this being a valid concept for a Necromancer. I don’t really want to go over what skills I’m going to be using because I think this build will be pretty unique and kinda want to keep it to myself (I know selfish) but the basic idea is the follow rank ups. Sorc - Pyromancer circuit 3 - Summoner - Necromancer.

The idea is to get enough aoe and nuke from pyromancer to do a ton of damage from behind my demons and spooky skeletons. I’ll have a fire demon in the front, and try to do as much damage as possible far away using explode and a few other skills. If someone get’s close to me or I’m in danger I put them to sleep and then summon a hord of undead while still doing massive fire damage.

Do you vet’s think that this could work if done correctly? Also does the fire attack buff from the pyromancer also apply to summons?

I would suggest using the tosbase skill simulator and link the build. I don’t think people will bother replying much to theoretical builds.

Yeah figured. Oh well, all good things can’t be kept secret and I’ll do the build to see myself sooner or later. but here you go

I don’t think you’re the only one going off with this build but I bet there’ll be only few people going for a pyro c3 then both sorc and necro

So yeah, no worries

Very true, seeing how many people registered for the beta I know I will have some fam out there thinking the same thing. I’m just worried that it won’t be strong. Considering the monk skills I’ve seen and the fact they can super beam through walls kinda defeats the purpose of having this build since all my defense comes from the mobs I’ll be sending to preoccupy people until they focus me, then I just put them to sleep and summon some more. What I really want to know though is if the enchant fire for the pyromancer applies to the skeletons from raise dead. Having 5 fire dealing fodder that can debuff people with burn while I flare them from afar.

i guess ill go wizard>pyro>linker>pyro>pyro>necro

i think you should think again your build for one reason: sp

As far as i know, hell breath takes a sp% per second and the summoned demon also drains sp% per second. Maybe you’ll do tons of damage, but, you’ll run out of sp pretty quick.

Wait, you wanna focus on PvP or PvE?
This build looks very good for bossing and soloing in general, but i don’t think summoners are particulary viable in PvP at the moment, at least from what i’ve seen from watching videos.
I’d rather go with CC and single nuke spells in PvP, since magic damage can’t be evaded.

I would suggest to go 3 circle sorc then 3 necro.
Doing 1 circle stuf isnt worth it.

The familar skill scales with skill level well (which is rare).
And the devil gets a better buff with higher level of skill (which is nice and scales to your INt and SPR not just a flat atk value).

Yeah it’s going to take some SP management for sure. I was thinking of using the demon as a tank and using fuse from his fire attacks if it ignites someone. But other then that just poke at the player while kitting. When the player comes close or defeats the demon just put him to sleep, dismiss the demon if it’s still alive, regen sp for a bit, then summon undead around the player while I do drain a good deal of my remaining sp on hell breath. I’m hoping that one shots people or get’s them low enough that the undead can kill them easily.

If you guys wanted to get the best SP pool a regen you could, would you just stack Wisdom and then a bunch of items that help?

@Farshee PvP most of the time, but I’m a solo player and don’t really do parties so it’s good to here that the build looks like it would be strong in that area.

and what about the other people? what we’ve seen in pvp videos are 5v5 battles, lets hope there is going to be a duel system. Also, the demon doesn’t act as a direct tank, it is more like an off tank. That kind of kitting strategy would surely work on newbie players, but for advanced or experienced players i don’t think it’ll work. the sleep condition only lasts until the first hit you do on them, what if a skeleton or some summon just runs to attack your target? it will leave you with no time to rest. There is also the possibility of other players in the arena to attack them. So, if you want to do a better kitting or just be annoying as hell i recommend you to go for a control type build. :alien:

The sleep thresh hold is at 5 attacks before they wake up at level 5. But you are right, for 5 v 5’s it would be difficult to kite all 5 players, but I would have 4 other people supporting me and the minions I summon. The one problem I have is that I summon 5 undead at max level for that skill. I’m thinking of going double wizard, triple pyro and one in necro so that I can cast sleep level 10.

You guys have helped me look over the build, and I doubt I can get enough sp regen to matter with how long it takes for a single tick of regen to proc in this game. Unless that changes I think my best bet might be to change the build up to this.

I’d be losing the fire demon, but with reflect, and an upgraded sleep I should be able to take on 3 people at once if I’m fast enough to get the skills of without getting cc’d, sleep would have a thresh hold of 10 attacks before waking up. Added in with lethargy it would increase the basic attacks of my undead on a target of my choice by 20%. Added onto that I replaced Flesh cannon with Flesh hoop. My ranged damage is going to drop off, but my total damage is only going to take a hit of 100 points. Which I’m fine with because flesh hoop should make melee wanting to get in close think twice with it being up for 15 secs. And then I would have sleep up again within 10 secs of that skill ending.

Much wow, much uniqueness LOL
