A new PvP Idea (well, with some old concepts)

I pictured and cooked the idea in my mind for some time now. I kinda grabbed some of WoE’s concept from ragnarok, a bit from Battlegrounds @ wow and some TERA ideas.

How about this: A GvG, 10x10, but royale, and for prizes.

Any guild could enter, but you are obligated to pick 10 players to represent your guild. It would happen TWICE A WEEK. There will be a map (giant) and your group will spawn together, to avoid any initial mess. The main purpose is: Be the last of the guilds to stay alive (or first to destroy some kind of objective or conquer it, but it’ll have to take some time).

Prizes would be two chests :

One containing normal mats, used for crafting (so it would help the guild and guildmates) like Talts x 30, Mithril ores x 3, Silver bar x 3, Dilgele x 50.

Second: Containing same mats but some rare recipes with low chances (like 0.5% of getting catacombs pike recipe, but for various recipes).

Once each >>MONTH<< : A Special Chest Spawns (the event will be much more highlighted and would warn the players about it) that has a chance to drop a good item (around 5%) like lolopanther stuff. And around 95% chance to drop good equipments (220+) or a huge set of talts (200).

Pros:

  • Would engage guilds on actually having some PvP oriented core players, so they would be valuable for resources.

  • Make more players engage in guilds and create more diversity and friendships (which leads to more people being friends and creating groups)

  • More build diversity (not just OP meta endgame elememememes)

  • Would actually drag some PvE players to get interested in PvP

  • Would help PvP Players to feel useful in helping PvE players with their contents.

- Would actually encourage more people to JOIN THE GAME / COMEBACK, since it’s gonna be a lot more going on in the game.

What do you think of my idea? If you don’t like, just don’t flame. I think of this idea as to gather guilds to mix PvP/PvE and it would be helpful to both.

Welp, bump. I’m not gonna let this die w/o IMC seeing it.

It sort of sounds like a King of the Hill type of thing, which sounds fun.

Thanks, i appreciate the opinion. Feel free to add anything you find constructive to build the idea further.

A non-linear map would be great for strategy variation (to avoid full frontal combat). Narrow corridors, ledges, forks, crossroads, open area, hills, gates, fences, etc.

There would be backstabs, gank, frontal assault, flank, etc. and some classes will really shine on certain spots (e.g. grassy area for druid) or have weakness there (e.g. cliffs where melee class gets sniped) or even have hidden mechanics (e.g. falconer can fly thru obstacles, scout camo near empty barrels).

If u need reference: Dragon Nest. The game is pretty much dead I think (idk, quit already), but the pvp used to be damn amazing.

Nice idea, more content more fun.

Cool idea, resembles something from ragnarok too, where the paths were scarce so the fights would need to be premeditated.

This

I came from dragon nest also and currently on hiatus atm.
ToS has a lot of potential to be enjoyable in pvp just like dragon nest
but they really need to double the effort if they want it to succeed in long time running.

damn shame on DN if eyedentity (devs of dn) listen not only in kdn
but also in other servers DN could have bigger than it is.

what I want in ToS pvp

•Free Arena
•Battle League (which is we have now not in iToS but you get the point)
•GvG (we also have this but I want it more to be like RO where we have to invade a castle and defend it)

from there they can start improving things.

Funniest thing is, a LOT of people want a decent PvP system. Why not just AT LEAST implement Bleague? And then work on the rest?

whaa? I think you missposted, bud. haha

No, PVP must be for fun, nothing more.

Maybe it’s not fun for you, but i can tell you, a lot of people dig a more well thought pvp than a full RNG clean map PvP.

The only one thing that hold me in this game is PVP Battle arena, if they turn it in a retard grind spot, i can finally quit.

I kinda relate. I’m in for the PVP and some endgame content just for the items.

No pvp, no fun.
