Tree of Savior Forum

A few questions

Hello. First of all, this is my first time when I heard about this game, a friend of mine told me about it, but she doesn’t know much either. I love online games and I do play a lot

The thing is that I keep reading the forum, and I see people talking as if they are already playing it, but the release date is in a month? I’m a bit confused, so I’d really appreciate an answer.

Also, anyone got any idea about the system/pc requirements? My pc isn’t that great, so I’d really like to know if I can handle it or not.

Thanks in advance and please excuse my english, it’s not my native language

System requirement:

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows XP
Processor: Intel Pentium Core 2
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce 8600
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 4 GB available space
Additional Notes: Keyboard, Mouse

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 7 or later
Processor: Intel i3 or later
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce GTS 450 or later
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 8 GB available space
Additional Notes: Joypad available

People are probably referencing their time in previous CBTs or Korean ToS, the Exclusive Access Launch for founders is tomorrow, and the f2p launch is 1 month after that on April 28th

Launch is happening in a tiered way. If you buy a $10, $30, or $50 founders dlc pack on steam, then you can start playing on the 29th (tomorrow). If you don’t want to spend money, then you’ll have to wait until late april to enter the game.

@Skrunken is also correct that there have been previous betas that people have played in as well as a Korean version of the game that already launched a few months back (kToS) that some people on this forum are playing in.

Thanks, guys, for your quick answers. I’ll probably give tos a pass, since my pc is pretty weak and most probably can’t handle these requirements (I gave up on NVIDIA long ago, and I rly don’t wanna go back to it)

Good luck on your journey, everyone!

The requirements for this game are a baked potato. Or a computer less than a decade old. That’s about the top an bottom of it.

Umm… what graphics card does your computer have? Chances are it should be able to play this game.

The example of nvidia is just saying that you need a graphics card with a certain amount of video memory/processing speed/etc. so if you have the ATI (or whatever brand) equivalent you should be fine.

Funny, but actually my pc is almost a decade old  I have so much stuff on it that I can’t bring myself to get a new one and get rid of this 10y old pc

It did come with an NVIDIA card, but I had it replace it with an old INTEL

@STAFF_Ethan, @STAFF_John

You guys should add other brand graphics card equivalents to the steam requirements page. It sounds like you might have lost a potential player because they thought they had to have an nvidia graphics card…

EDIT: Oh wait, they’re back… but you should still make that change to the steam requirements page.

Also GeForce 8600 is just confusing is it GT? or the GTS version?

quick question…
Will a Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 be able to run it?

What Intel card? You are probably still okay if you can give me a model number and I can double check it.

Yeah you’re fine:

I really hate NVIDIA and ATI naming schemes… confusing as hell…

EDIT: In what world does 285 trump 450… oh you say the GTX vs. GTS makes the difference?

Thanks.

Yeah, the naming can be very confusing.
My PC is around 8 years old or something and starting to being unable to play the most latest games.

Happily you’re right in the ‘recommended’ zone. What would you have done if you weren’t…

The GTX 285 is a high end Nvidia 200 series card.

There is no 300 series, it goes 200-400.

The GTS 450 is a medium/low end 400 series card.

It’s obvious the high end from a previous generation is faster than a medium/low end from the next.

lol and the 8600?

I mean I know exactly what you mean… but nvidia used to have a much more logical naming scheme (in my opinion).

GeForce
GeForce 2
GeForce 3 Ti 200 (my first graphics card!)
GeForce 4

Okay, enough history, now get off my lawn lol

True. Or with a simpy “or equivalent”.

What do you think about this pc, guys? I know it’s weak, so please dont laugh, I just want to know if I’ll be able to run tos on it. It’s not mine, but I was thinking of buying it. I only play 2d and low end online games, so I don’t feel like wasting a lot of money for something more expensive.

Intel Celeron CPU 2,66 ghz,

  • memory ram 2048 mb
  • hard 80 gb
  • video card : GForce 7100 : Curent display 1280*1024(32bit)(60hz)
    aprox total memory 889 mb

Do I really need a 4GB+ for tos?

Yes… 4+ GB is the minimum requirement :frowning:
Also your graphics card is also probably not going to cut it (it might barely work for the minimum requirements…) :frowning:

EDIT: When the game comes out for free in April, you should download and try it on that computer to see if it might run… At this point I wouldn’t recommend you spend money to try tree of savior because it has a frankly rather low chance of running (or running well) on your computer…

Imma look for something better than, thanks

Yeah… sorry to be the bearer of bad news :frowning:

On the bright side, if you’ve never played it before, your computer would be fine to run Undertale which is a great game.
