A few gripes about Stamina

If the stamina system is here to stay, they need to have a bar for stamina…just like HP and SP have. The diamond on the top left is WAY too small and the numbers are hard to read.

Now with that aside, I don’t like the stamina system altogether. I think it’s irritating and adds nothing to the game. I don’t expect it to be removed, but I just needed to get that out there.

I think that Stamina can stay if the developers can figure out a way to make it matter more. Right now I’m only affected by Stamina issues if I had run across an entire map zone without having hit any recharge crystals.

If the devs can make Stamina matter for things like kiting, jumping, and using certain skills, I’m sure it will much better.

IMHO, what they need to do is to improve the user interface of ToS, aside from that small text from that diamond thingy (stamina), they should also fix the zooming (in and out) of the camera, especially on boss fights!

A lot of fights I’ve come up with, the camera is too darn close and I cant zoom in out, whereas i want to kite or snipe the monster to avoid close contact and damage.

^ Agree with this completely. Boss fights felt funny to me in the beta because it wasn’t the map constraining you, it was the camera. The map didn’t show you any cool glowing no-exit barriers or anything, you were just blocked by the edge of the screen.

And then there were problems with the camera not resetting to game world after boss fights, especially in party boss fights

I agree with you with the Interface and the damn camera being to close.I wrote on the forums somewhere about getting a zoom out option.Their zoom out is still not enough in my opinion.

If i’m not mistaken, some classes uses stamina as a catalyst for skills; meaning that costs you stamina to use certain skills.

The Monk’s “Shinku Hadoken” is one of them i guess. (Click the link to see the skill i’m talking about)

I saw the tutorial mention there was stamina, but I never even noticed the stamina at all until about 8 hours in.

When I glanced up and finally noticed the diamond had a number in it and that it was not full. Then I smacked one of those stamina restoring roots.

Apparently “Stamina” was mainly a swordsman thing. I would rather see it changed so that it recharged quickly, all characters could use it to run in short bursts faster.

Where does it says it uses Stamina this “Shinku Hadoken”??? Only Double punch uses Stamina FYI.

Shinku Hadoken spends [?] (based on skill level) stamina every .5 seconds to maintain the charge so the monk is not immobilized and can time the beam when they want it, rather then to have the mobs wander out of the kill zone as the monk auto fires it.

Stamina arent useless at all… Monk Double punch uses stamina instead of Sp which is very usefull and it saves a lot of sp and there are classes that rely skill cost with Stamina instead of Sp…

From blog.

Q) Why is Stamina system in the game? What’s its use?

A) During the beginning phase in the game, it is used to limit your character’s movement speed, but as your character’s rank increases, it may also influence your character’s skills depending on your character’s class attributes.

For example, there’s a skill called Shield Charge used by Rodelero which you will use while moving. The skills like this will get influenced by the amount of Stamina you have.

Stamina will also be consumed when you are controlling your companions so eventually Stamina will be another parameter that you will have to manage in the game.

That’s why i said i GUESS. I wasn’t sure about it xD

It doesn’t say STA so I don think it does spends Stamina unless you got real proof than a [?].Furthermore, I have check videos where Monks uses Energy Blast and they DID NOT consume Stamina.

Well if they gave all the classes dash then stamina could affect archers and wizards too…

I’m kinda glad stamina didn’t have much impact. I hate games that make you have to stop moving every 30 feet or rest constantly. That kind of artificial barrier to playing the game makes it not fun for anyone.

I would like if they made it so at least out of boss battles, dropping to 1 - 0 stamina wouldn’t come up with a low stamina message and prevent you from moving effectively, instead revert to you walking normally but slower. (Kinda like how Ragnarok had it)
