A fair assessment on swordman DPS issue (no not bigger damage)

Sorry but your example was wrong and your extra arguments don’t have much weight in practice. Swordsmen are bad because they have awful damage, period. All of those limitations you mentioned exist because it’s a melee class. Swordsmen don’t have to do 60k damage a hit to become relevant in PvE, they just have to offer enough damage/utility to be worth a party slot even with the inherent downtime that comes from being melee and having to move around and dodge hits. That is the whole point of a melee class.

They really just need more damage/lower cds and a little utility for each damage dealing class, like for example barbarians warcry affecting your party or rodelero’s stuns to be able to interrupt boss skills or something.

Why haven’t you applied to iTOS the same patch as kTOS?
The regions for iTOS are more and diverse and applying a patch for each region takes some time. Our previous patches also had problems of that sort. Such problems resulted in the updates and the game access being unavailable. Also, after we update the Korean version and receive feedback from the users there, we sometimes end up making changes to it again, so getting a final version of the update that we can apply to iTOS can take some time. That is the reason why we were unable to apply patches frequently.

kTOS is like a test version for iTOS now, so sooner or later we will get it. Unless IMC lies, then we have bigger problem to worry about than a balance path

You know that what you say is BS. Ktos is one game when itos is not 100% the same. Non is a test game.

Basically whoever made swordsmen did so without the damage formula in mind.

The lack of multi-hit skills combined with the cooldown on abilities really limits the class.

There is no reason for any DPS class to have cooldowns over 20 seconds.

Swordsmen damage skills are at least 50% higher than every other class. Or they design something like Barb, which gets +250% damage to stunned mobs, then make mobs have 90% resist rate end game.

Well they designed swordman classes to primarily use auto attack. However the content quickly outgrow the usefulness of auto attack. So now they need to re-balance swordman.

They just cry like a kid about how hard it is to do what they need to do.no where they say we will have the same balance as ktos.

They just failed to look at what people was saying from beta days. Any one that got toblvl 90-100 on the betas was saying that swordsman stop doing good dps.that he cant pvp.if you look up the pvp you will see that onlly dragoon doing some what good in there.

Shinobi, fencer2, corsair3 give good damage? ■■■■ no. And Doppel2 has to use 2h swords which is crippling on its own, it means no karacha dagger/spear or 2h spear and as a result no finestra.

Actually doppel is your best bet for a swordsman in PVP because cyclone does so much damage so quickly it has a good chance of 100% stunlocking with restrain until they’re dead. But this relies on a lot of factors because you need to find an opening when stoneskin and bloodletting are down, and get in range without being stunned or levitated or frozen or something.

Going to nitpick a bit.
2H swords have a 10% damage modifier
Finestra late-game
is an 11.25% Dps increase (once you have more then their Crit resist).
The benefit of Finestra will decrease the further we progress in levelswhile the 2h Sword modifier is static so rank 8 will be kinder to Doppel as far as 2h vs Finestra.

The off-hand dagger is of course nice (and I think 2h spears may have their own hidden modifier too, I’ll check later) but I wouldn’t write off 2h swords as crippling.

I will admit I never knew about any kind of modifier on 2H swords, that is pretty nice to know.

Swordies in general are weak with literally one exception, Doppel and the class gets crazier at C2 where it gets 3 more powerful slash skills.

Once Barbarian buffs comes where they get a debuff that improves slash damage by 50% on Cleave, it will indirectly buff Doppel C2 again.

I’m not sure what beta you are talking about, but I clearly remember from the last days of iCBT2 people still cry about how OP barb is and how barb can overkill stuff at level 140+. Then IMC removed overkill mechanic and buff archers

Actually the only good build for swordman PvP is sword 3 --> cata 3. You can top it off with doppel or dragoon and still do fine. The most recent PvP leaderboard show a sword 3 --> cata 3 --> doppel.

Actually all 3 new skills of doppel are weak. The importance of doppel c2 is longer cyclone and higher deed.

And I did say that everything I talk about in this thread also include the recent kTOS buff to swordman, I’m not gonna ask for the same thing over again.

You do realize that they are multi-hit skills right? Just with the exception of Zornhau but instead it has increased skill damage, comes with a debuff that boosts Zucken’s damage and has a relatively short cooldown of 15s.

And if you’re actually taking kTOS patches to swordies, then all the more reason to only consider Barb+Doppel because the buffs to other classes are pretty meh.

It’s also funny how you snip out and ignore the unfair comparison of Dragon Tooth and Cannon Shot lol AND still have it on the original post.
