A Detailed Patch Timeline Observation KToS vs iToS by Wolfy

[Feel free to use for any purpose]

Conclusion: The game is perceived as non changing on our version of the game thus causing a lose on interest and hype, even if ktos has dry weeks they tend to not last too long or be covered by Ktest patches.

TOS has a long ways to go, but the pace KTOS is receiving content is actually really satisfactory. If ITOS were to be on a similar, or monthly model, I’d be content.

IMC right now (regardless of the reasons) is trying to go for the big update route, where many of the KTOS updates are implemented into less frequent, but larger updates. I don’t take issue with that model, and in the future when TOS is in a better place, I’d likely prefer it. The problem is our big updates don’t actually include enough content to be worth the wait. If IMC insists on the big update model, then they need to accommodate with the bare minimum bringing over every KTOS update up until that point, preferably KTEST content as well since we’d then have to wait again.

Having a test server alone makes a huge difference with player interest, I’ve played on ktest a few times myself and it’s really refreshing to test new content that may eventually go live. Wish we had the option too but I guess it would just be extra work for them to do a second test server (plus we generally get patches much after they go live on ktos anyways).

If anything it would be nice if they made it more accessible for non koreans to get on the korean test servers.

A test server, or simply opening the KTEST one up would be great. If it is a resource problem, I’d prefer them allocated towards updating ITOS and not towards a test server, but that may be a false dichotomy. I could see monetisation being a problem, and translation is a really big task for ITOS already, but a good idea is a good idea.

I enjoyed the bit I played on KTEST too, even looking through the files or on TOSGBASE is exciting.

This thread make me so sad. And it just states a fact, there’s no space for opinions. That’s why.

Being 4 months without a real content isn’t paying out.

I had the idea of making a patch note timeline but never had knowledge and time to do it. Glad Someone else did it

Feel like if we have a bigger translator group, we can accelerate the speed of bringing patches to itos.

Correct, i tried to minimize my comments and just show what i see. This is not a problem tied to reactions or emotions or whiteknighting or doomknighting. But something that you just can show to others and they will figure out the issue.

So my hope is that @STAFF_Letitia @STAFF_Yuri @STAFF_Ethan or any other staff members will be able to also read and understand this issue in a clearer way. And be able to propose changes, because i know their limitations.

I can’t do anything beyond this.

Nice compilation!
Despite the lack of actual updates iToS gets, the general overview still seem pretty active on the developer’s part. This PoV really allowed me to get a bird’s eye view and i can see we actually have quite a lot of dev blog/updates/plans. Just that they have not materialized yet. I feel guilty for being annoyed by last night’s patch :tired:

I believe the content is already with iTOS team, but the translation and set up is being worked on our side… Im having a hunch the team here in iTOS have not finished their planting of what kTOS have. And they have the resources. Prove that the content is in their hands just need to be released if finished.

Oh, this is another correct observation!

A reason why i’ve been marked as a whiteknight here before is by mentioning this. But you can see its quite obvious work is being done, just … not properly distributed.

well clearly imc’s strategy of bringing massive updates every 4-6 months at a time isnt working. hmm…

it makes me wonder why there would ever be bugs in the itos version after this much of a time difference. shouldn’t it work perfectly? can’t imc hire people to test/translate for free (or tp) if not? can’t they fire some people?

what the hell is the problem?? they have an entire community desperate to keep the game alive, and all i see is imc killing the game

someone already done like me does in the past.

they said they were waiting for there to be alot of content done to add it all in at once.
tbh it would be better if they just added in what they already finished it when its finished because it makes it look like theyre trying really hard and it will give more content and hype

The answer is they lack of Manpower to work with the content.

That’s just my hunch, but even so the Gap between kTOS and iTOS is really far.
