A couple points i'd like to address

I know the forums are at a chaos state right know, but i’d like to make an organized post with all the things I, MYSELF, see wrong. Yes, it’s another of those posts (and it turned out to be a big one), but please stay with me for a little while.
At this point, mostly of the people that use this forum have already noticed the amount of posts regarding lots and lots of problems the game has. Not judging anyone, considering that i’m also unsatisfied, but i’ve seen a couple posts with… very questionable arguments or demanding absurd things. But that’s not the point of this topic, i just wanted to give my coin on this and say please, give some thought about what you’re posting. Sometimes it just doesn’t make any sense, or it will, yes, make you look like you’re just ranting.

What i want to do with this topic is to address all the comunity of this forums for a couple points that i see right (see the keyword here?). Feel free to ignore this topic if you don’t feel like, its your right and i won’t blame you! :grinning:

The big monster: the trading system

It’s not hard to see dozens of topics regarding this problem. BECAUSE IT IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. Don’t try and pretend it isn’t. Let’s see why:

  • You can’t trade with anyone if you’re not VIP (let’s call the Token system VIP, its easier). Even though you can use the Auction House, it doesn’t work as well as it should. I don’t think the 30% tax is that much of a problem, even though it is a very high tax rate, but the problem itself lies on the fact that the in-game currency moves SLOWLY. Waiting two whole days to receive you’re so worth money is not fun, nor functional. If this was meant to stop RMT, well, the guy still gets his money 2 days after. Didn’t work.
  • Imagine you trying to give your friend a gift. But instead, you have to pay $16 to give him that gift. And, he also have to pay $16 to RECEIVE your gift. If this sound absurd in real life, it also does in-game.
  • You bought the VIP token, yes! Now you can trade 30 times per month. Maybe this may not be a problem for some people, but 30 times per month is ridiculously low. I can imagine myself doing dozens of tradings per day, just by playing with my friends. If i’m paying for something, i don’t want any more limitations. Imagine you buying a car irl and they saying “BUT HEY, YOU CAN ONLY DRIVE 50KM A MONTH!”. You get the idea.
  • Marketing is another game ENTIRELY inside your game, bear that in mind. There are a lot of players that find much more amusing makíng lots of money through sales than through raiding, grinding or anything of sort. This also affects a lot of the late game, considering 90% of the time it is made through player negotiations.
  • This is by far the most important topic, please be compassionate about the others’ problem. It’s fine if you think this game is a goldmine. It’s fine if you see no problem at all with the trading, and think it should remain the same. But bear with me for a while: we know you can see the same problems as we do, you just think it’s fine that way. Please, don’t be against all the people fighting for a better game. In one way or another, you’ll be earning as much as we are. You may find it akward to see so many people complaining about “just a game”, but for a lot, this is much more than just a game. It’s about interacting with other people. Having fun with their friends, pairs. We want to make a place where we’ll be living for hours and hours a better place. I know you’d to the same if it meant a lot to you, too (and this doesn’t applies only to gaming, it does to anywhere, really).

Here’s my two cents on how the trading could be made better:

  • Remove the trading limitations. All of them. Make players free to trade with one another whenever they want, for no fee. It’s simply absurd that we’re not able to do something so simple as trading with our friends.
  • The market board taxes needs to stay. Why do i say that? Money sink. It’s good for games to have somewhere “unexistant” to dump their money, so the marketing community stays fresh. What about the 30% to 10% reduction for VIP? It should also remain. You’re paying for something, you expect something in return, it is fair.
  • Increase a liiiitle bit the ammount of items a free player can have on the Auction House. Maybe 3 items for free players and 5 or 10 for VIP? The more items there is on the market, the more livid the marketing game is. It makes the game more fun.
  • Remove the 2 day delay for receiving your money. Period. This didn’t made sense then, it still doesn’t make sense now.

The servers instability

Yeah, no need to say much here. The servers are unstable, and it feels like IMC didn’t learn anything from any of the CBTs, nor the korean release. BUT, i want to ask everyone for a little bit of patience. I’m also frustrated that the game is not working the way i would like it to be. Implementing a server that can withhold this much pressure is HARD. We’re still in beta (paid or not, it was OUR decision whether we would pay or not, so we are the ones to blame), and this kind of thing will be fixed sooner or later. I understand your frustration, but please be patient.

This one is a hard one to deal with. Bots are everywhere in games, and they are not hard to find. Other MMOs that i used to play, such as WoW, or FFXIV, or Ragnarok, or Maple Story, all of them had bots. And somehow, all of them managed to deal with them without hitting their playerbase. Couple things i’d like to point on this are:

  • Money is not a barrier for them. WoW and FFXIV had (FFXIV still has, can’t say about WoW) lots and lots of RMT. They are earning enough money for them to buy how much subs they want (apparently, and i will never understand this).
  • No metter what restrictions you make, they will always find a way to sell people money. Unless you remove trading entirely from the game, they will be there. Sometimes, even removing everything from the game won’t make them go away (take BDO for instance).
  • Please don’t remove trading entirely from the game.

I just can’t think of a solution here. I’ve seen a lot of games trying to implement a system that forces players to prove that they are, in fact, players. Tibia, Maple Story, mobile games such as Crusaders Quest. Making an interactive captcha that’s not easily readable by a bot may be one of those solutions. Maybe one that happens in 30 minute range from one another and would give the player a 5 minute EXP or stats buff (this is made so that players wont be “UUUGHHHH NOT THIS CAPTCHA AGAIN”). But i really can’t say for sure on this one.

IMC's thoughts regarding our problems

This one is also another one that i’m not sure i should be talking about because i don’t know how the company works. And being a Brazilian that have seen how Level Up Games, a company that receives a lot of shittalk for being bad, works internally, i can’t say for sure what’s happening inside of IMC. One thing i can say for sure, they know what problems we’re currently facing, and, hopefully, they already discussing it. Take for instance LUG and IMCs Q&A about the BR server. I guess we can’t do anything more than just wait on this one, eventually they’ll have to give their word on this. We really wish mods could be a little bit more active regarding this, though.

Conclusions

It's been a long post, and thanks if you're still here with me! The game has a couple problems, for better or for worse, but we need to have patience. And, please, understand the complaints of other players. They are not ranting, they are just trying to make this game a better place. So! Maybe you agree with me in some, maybe not, and i'd really like to see what you think. Post your opinions, and let's have a nice discussion here! I'd really like to ask for you guys to not be aggressive, but i know this is very successible to happening so... ■■■■. I'LL SEE YOU IN THE WARZONE! :imp:
