I heard we will have 80 classes but there doesn’t seem to be that many, can someone confirm?
And will there be more? I don’t care if it gets to level 1000 someday, that’s a game afterall.

Yes there will be 80 classes, it says so in the faq.
There is currently like what… 40 available so halfway there I guess.
No, there’s only 4 classes: Warrior, Wizard, Archer, Cleric. The other 76 “classes” are just sub-categories that implement new content to your first choice.
For example, I started as Archer and had 3 skills that throw arrows, and at level 15 I had to choose between continue being Archer,or change to Ranger or Quarrel Shooter. I changed to Ranger and recieved 3 new skills that throw arrows. If I had choosen Quarrel Shooter, I would recieve 3 skills to shoot stones.
Later, I’ll choose between Wugushi and Scout. Wugushi throws poisoned arrows… Scout has concealment skills. But in the end, what I am? I’m throwing arrows, so I can change whatever I want in my build, I’ll stay being an Archer, but with sub-categories specialized in different things.
If you want to call them sub classes that’s your choice.
They are calling them classes and there will be 80.
Frankly I don’t see a difference since being in the same class tree doesn’t somehow make them not a class and I don’t see why “subclass” would not count as a class either. Either way there will be 80 of them total and that is what they meant.
they are 59 class are know in the TOSbase as for right now, so then in the later future this game will have those 21 classes and here a image of classes(and some cool ones).

What it seems it’ll be is 10 ranks (19 classes) for ea 4 starting classes with a hidden (or not so hidden) class at the end. http://toswiki.treeofsaviorgame.com/class/hidden_class
Definitively these are sub-classes.
In nearly every RPG since it’s conception a character class has been defined as a set of skills and equipment that a character has available to him to fulfill his class’s role. A sub-class is an optional set of skills and equipment added to your pre-existing class to make that class take on an additional role or to enhance their current role.
I wouldn’t call it a bad thing, 76 sub-classes is still a feat of it’s own.
I wouldn’t say that. For some sub-classes, yes, pretty creative, but again for Archer… they just separated some things that doesn’t make sense to be separated. What’s the difference between Archer, Ranger and Fletcher? Really. And then we have Wugushi. They just removed “poison arrows” that are common in other MMOs and put this available for only one sub-class. It IS somewhat interesting the fact that you can choose which way to go,so it’ll create a diversity of types of players, but none of this things are really new.
In the Archer building, what’s really “not an Archer” until now is Sapper, Scout (That basically just turns you invisible), Rouge and Reiter (That’s actually more like “Ninja” and “Gunner”), and Falconer (That’s just you Archer being pulled up by a bird). In the Wizard building, Pyro and Cryo even has the same skill, Fire Wall and Ice Wall. The effects are different, but the concept is the same and just its skin that changes.
Mainly for diversity, not every archer will have the same set of skills and can perform their role in different ways. While many of the skills may look the same, they do have their own mechanics.
like ice wall and fire wall as you pointed out are the same concept however they’re still used very diffrently.
Quarrel Shooter is all I can say, it’s very tactical and then rouge?
It’s a good marketing strategy though to say that there are 80 classes, when it’s actually 4 base classes with further advancements.
If we were to apply this to RO, then RO marketing can say that they have 94 classes, when those actually include the high 1st classes and baby classes.
What’s different with TOS’s though is that each of those 80 classes is unique, and not a baby/transcendent version of another job.
