50% spawn rate increase ain't gonna cut it

Even with the 50% increase, it’s still multiple times slower (in most maps) than in previous CBT tests. It’s not enough, I hope you will gradually increase that value when you fix the issues with latency/server instability.

I can only assume that CBT spawn rates were increased for testing reasons

Game still on testing, so IMC is trying different spawn rates for 2 reasons:

  1. Handle server stress.
  2. Find a good progression rate.

Since we’re still testing, doesn’t make sense do things the same way as they did before. Just relax please.

It’s pointless when on most maps, there are not nearly enough mobs to satisfy players hunting them. Mob density is already too low for a grindy game such as ToS, and the number of channels isn’t enough to help balance that. Even with the 50% increase, I can guarantee that you will still spend 70% of your time mindlessly running around the map looking for mobs.

And people were testing it enough in previous CBTs. I don’t think anyone in previous tests said that “the current spawn rate is too high”. On the contrary, even when the spawn rate was multiple times higher than it is now, people were saying it was still too low.

I know what IMC is probably thinking. To make field grinding worthless enough, so people will buy the dungeon reset scrolls in the cash shop. We don’t have them right now, but rest assured, I am willing to bet all the money in the world that they will arrive in one form or another (probably as a side prize in RNG costume boxes, just like in most other f2p games).

how is the spawn rate here compared to ktos?

They legit just put it up like an hour a go and people wanna whine already?

Give it a damn chance, if they’d put it up too high and made servers so unstable and laggy you couldn’t even play you’d be whining twice as hard.

That said when/if dungeon reset scrolls become a purchasable item I will quit

I’ve already made it perfectly clear that a reset cap of 2 is too low at higher levels, I know for a fact that increasing it a little won’t break the damn game.

If reset scrolls become available It’l serve as confirmation. Only IMC will have decided to yet again opt for a greedy slap-in-the-face approach to allowing us players access to more dungeons.

“Sure, you can do more but you gotta pay for them” instead of just giving us the damn max cap increase.

That’d be the last straw for me, I haven’t forgotten that they said they wanted a cosmetic-only cash shop.

People seem not to get the game. People actually forgot how games like RO and TOS progress? Too much WoW in them.

I actually hope that they sell dungeon reset scrolls tho. So that ppl like me who prefer to do dungeon than grind for exp have another option. But of course also allow the scroll to be sold on AH so that f2p player can buy them too.

Why would you want them to offer you more features providing you pay for them?

They restrict the amount of dungeons you can run because they want to maintain a certain level of balance between XP gaining / rare items. Fine.

Then they may one day potentially add an item to cash shop that allows you to reset your allowance thus run more dungeons instead of just increasing the cap / removing it.

And. You. Want. That?

Testing my ass, its based off the released game which has slow ass spawn rates.
More like Players in Itos are giving feedback that they aren’t happy with the spawn rate and would like it changed.

People don’t understand the idea of progressive change to not over shoot the target.

I think the real problem is that the monsters spawn all at once instead of on their own individual timers. I want a constant flow of mobs to kill, everything spawning at once getting wiped out and waiting is a stupid system for a grinder.

You should feel overwhelmed, not like you’re waiting for the next harvest.

You’re right, I’d rather have monster to kill everytime than kill all them and then wait one minute or more for the next wave.

50% increase would be pretty damn good. You have to consider that the servers were packed with players early on because there were a lot more players than IMC had planned, and thus there was a lot of competition for farm.

The 50% increased spawn rate is fine as it is. The problem is how the server checks if the map needs respawns when they should have individual timers for respawn, and thus right now there are moments of relatively high density, then followed by really, really annoying long lull periods where you wait around for them to respawn which is ■■■■■■■ frustrating.

This is also incorrect. Dgn reset scrolls are not in the cash shop.
