3 features from modern games and past games that ToS is missing

FYI I am an old RO player that currently plays mostly LoL/DOTA and FPS/RPGs.

  • Missing features from past games:
  1. Ability to free rotate the camera.
It just doesn’t feel right without right click being able to rotate the camera. For that matter, why does right click do very little in general? It feels like such a common button should at least be used for something.
  2. Open cities and maps.
Why are we regressing to linear gameplay, when you can normally pay a small fee to simply warp to any discovered city of your choosing? I have a terrible RO2 vibe from this beta, and I hope you can make it more clear that you have freedom of movement early on.
  3. Draggable, customized, collapsible interface.
I have 3 million pixels on my screen, I don’t need to dedicate half of them to a stupid levelup menu. Where did we go so wrong???
  • Modern features that should be included but are missing:
  1. Support for higher resolutions and appropriate zoom for larger screens.
Zoomhacking was a big thing in the past, because it makes the game easier on the eyes. Most games nowadays has a reasonable max limit, but in ToS, it still feels like my character takes up like 5% of the screen.

  2. Audio options for effects, ability to change sounds
Where’s my interface skins? custom music? at least some way to turn off the annoying typing sound. I think these are all options that should be included in the full release.

  3. Key rebinds and multiple input interfaces
This game needs support for different combos, like mouse+keypad, mouse+keyboard, keypad+keyboard, mouse+mouse, or any variation. There’s no reason why key bindings and movement/control schemes are so nuanced.
