Cloth category gonna have limited usage after rebuild in pvp/gvg since most of the classes would be physical class, also most of mobs has physical dmg only too, maybe imc should add another class tree with magic dmg like summoner.
Sorry, but cloth set was dead since the start due to meh bonuses.
It should be completely reworked to become viable. I would say surespell+quickcast effect for 4 pieces cloth set would be interesting. On 3 pieces only surespell.
Didn’t they removed surespell from the game cuz it’s not needed anymore?
Yeah, that was just an example of how cloth could’ve been improved for a long time. After rebuild it could be quickcast+ some kind of matk buff/boost
Specially with the upcoming Ignas armors
I feel like Plate armor is the best way to go for mage class for survivability. Cloth has that M.crit but its not really relevant if you’re gonna die 50% of the time.
unless you’re willing to upgrade your armor to +11 on more which is a bitch to do.
With the upcoming armor mastery attributes, they want to create the usual MMORPG meta of Swordsmen&Cleric using plate, Archer&Scout using leather and Wizard&Cleric using cloth armor.
From what we can see with Kabbalists armor mastery, the boni will probably be so good that you’d want to wear cloth as Wizard and Cleric.
By the way, cloth isn’t so bad, it has the lowest weight and provides pdef as good as leather.
It also works well together with the new legendary Draconas Kite Moore set, which adds a lot of bonus elemental damage to your skills which ignores defense.
The best thing would be to make the Class-related cloth masteries several times better than the plate and leather ones to make up for the “disadvantage” of having less pdef.
exactly, but ppl who wants to go fully PVE would choose leather later no matter physical or magical class, the dmg boost is real for leather set+maybe legend marnox card or something.
I would never go leather, it makes me feel weak. Who cares about 20% extra crit chance and +10% crit cap if you have close to no initial crit chance anyway? You need to whale up to ftw level or be a Scout to benefit from the set.
Maybe a Velco Sword with Wastrel Sword ichor could also help making leather more attractive, but in general it’s not worth getting as long as you don’t have enough crit rate from skills/items to come close to crit cap, especially if the armor masteries for your Class are not going to be for leather.
Armor exchange is still pending, who knows if they will even allow it Oo
So getting a Velco leather set could even ruin you if they decide not to allow exchanges…
afaik crit capped at 50% at rebuild
with leather set you can have min crit chance% and 10% more cap crit chance that is 60%, marnox works on min crit chance too
Plate is only armor you ever need, especially on rebuild.
what leather set are you talking about? ignas?
crit chance has min and max too? like min-max patk?
if i understand correctly, min cirt chance means the real crit chance you have like those in league of legends. max crit chance is the cap crit chance, 50% without leather, 60% with leather. while crit rate is comparatively unstable, it depends on how much crit resistance the target has.
how about rogue sneak hit which add 50% crit chance? will it break through that 60% cap?
no idea then, i play wizard only
although there are less content with magic damage, as it is said, that doesn’t make cloth set less useful for magic damage enemies right?
think on TBL and the possibility of fighting a full mage/cleric party who read this thread and thought of abusing the fact that you will all neglect the damage cut.
some point are true but, look how low the pvp featured skill factors it is for magic wizard/cleric… and plus magic can be blocked, evasioned…and as compensation , magic dmg can crit now but, unless you wear nepa set or it’s just meh…
That is just as bad as physical damage, so that only put everything equal.
And remember that if you are a DPS class, you problably can’t really dodge or block that well. Which actually make that damage cut pretty useful.
I agree, I believe that this change that made everything equal makes magic lose as long as it does not have a critical rate and damage booster like Matador and Fencer. When it does, I think things might change to the better.
