2H Swordsman PvP Build

I’ve been doing some research trying to find a good 2hs PvP class set up and don’t really know where I should go.

In iCBT2 I followed Swordsman > Highlander > Highlander > Barbarian > Barbarian (stopped here) > Barbarian > Doppelsoeldner

However I did a bit of reading and was told this wasn’t a good PvP build, I was suggested Cataphract but I’d like to avoid spears.

So then I came up with Swordsman > Highlander > Highlander > Highlander > Corsair > Dop > Dop

And then someone told me this build was bad and that Barb was better for PvP. wat

Any help here?

Shinobi can hide it very good in pvp

2H Swordsman for PvP it’s too difficult/not the best as you know, but here my suggestions:

1) Barb-Doppel Way: Swordsman > Highlander/Peltasta/Swordsman C2 > Barbarian C3 > Doppel C2

  • Highlander has Critical Attack attribute that increases your critical attack by 50% at lvl 5.

  • Peltasta has Guardian skill with an attribute that increases your evasion by 18% at lvl 5.

  • Swordsman C2 has Restrain with 20% of chance to stunning enemies with your attacks and skills. In an only PvP build I really prefer Swordsman C2 for the “stunning combo”.

  • The strategy basically is: Use Seism or Helm Chopper to stun your opponents and spam your powerful skills (if you don’t miss the first hit, of course).

2) High-Doppel Way: Swordsman > Highlander C3 > Corsair > Doppel C2

  • Watch the blue hair girl at 05:10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3sp-rlKO3o

  • The strategy is: be a “support” for your team. Use Iron Hook to capture three opponents at the same time and Cyclone if the other two approach.

3) High-Shinobi Way: Swordsman > Highlander C3 > Corsair C2 > Shinobi

  • You can use 2H Sword too, but you’ll not be able to use Dust Devil and Hexen Dropper like him. I think in this case Doppel C1 could replace the Corsair C2 just for Cyclone, but I’ve never tested it.

  • The strategy is: use Katon no Jutsu and stay hide with Stealth attribute (8s at lvl 5), use Iron Hook next to your opponents and attack.

  • If you prefer, you can replace a Highlander circle for Swordsman C2. Or maybe Highlander C2 for Barbarian C2. It’ll be a “Barb-Shinobi Way”.

Corsair and Cataphract are best swordies for PvP because of Rush, Impaler, Trot and Iron Hook, Hexen Dropper, Pistol Shot.

Doppelsoldner have one useful skill for PvP - Cyclone - I’d say it’s number one damage skill for PvP, number two being Hexen Dropper. But class can’t do anything but Cyclone.

Also Hoplith is good because of +range and +crit on Finestra. In PvP ppl just move out of range when you engage them in melee. +range makes is a bit easier, especially if it’s Cataphract and 2H spear. Third circle of Hoplith also has a thrown spear that is an AoE root.

After giving it some SERIOUS thought I decided on Spear/Pistol Sw2-Hop2-Cor3 to be my main build intented for all kinds of PvP. Read into his skills and you’ll see.

I guess Barbarian will be good IF you lend all the stuns and they actually work. So I guess it requires more skill and some luck. I personally wanted to go Sw1-Pelt1-Barb3-Fencer2 before I settled with Corsair Spear-Pistol build.

If I wanted a 2H sword to be my main wpn in PvP, I gues I would’ve tried smth like Sw1-High1-Barb2-Cor1-Doppel1 and the 7th rank is up to u. If you feel that all those guys out there are just whimpin ankle biters and can’t lend a hit because ur momma fights better - I suggest you go Barb3 instead of Cor1.

There is still a question of “how Giant Swing works in PvP”, by the way…

So how would this work out?

Swordsman C1 > C2 > Highlander C1 > C2 > Corsair > Dop C1 > C2 (or Shinobi)?

Gets Restrain, Iron Hook+Keel Hauling, Skyliner+CC, Cyclone+Deeds…

I was told to just go Highlander C3 instead of Swordsman C2 though, but Restrain seems really useful, I don’t know

Highlander is PvE profession. Barb > High in PvP, because stuns.

But it has a cool passive for crit on 2H sword, which is > restrain. To get the passive you only need 1 circle in High.

IMO Sw1-High1-Barb2-Cor1-Dop1-whatever. Use 2H sword. Use Iron Hook. Expect ppl coming at you while you hold. If they do - stuns, cyclone. This build will also be really good at farming stuff cuz Flag + Double Pay Earn.

Basically you would only want Highlander in PvP build if you want a 2H sword, and only 1 circle. With PvE it’s different, of course. High3 shines in PvE.

Still, I expect Iron Hook would be nerfed one day (add chance maybe) and swordies will be overal made more useful in PvP, that’s why sticking to current meta may be a questionable choice.

I also read somewhere smth about Shinobi using Katanas which are 2H swords, but I don’t know if that’s solid info or some bull**it.|

UPD. Corsair doesn’t really fit, I know, but it makes build useful for your party.

I personally would prefer Barb3 instead of Cor1. But yeah - it’s rather pointless having strong skills without ways to land them at an enemy.

i’m going highlander c3>corsair>doppel, cus it just fits perfectly for 2H

About Keel Hauling, I’ll paste what our friend @Erokhi said: “When you pull your enemy with Keel Hauling, your enemy can move, attack, and use skills. That’s why it’s bad. The damage isn’t that good either. IMO, it’s a waste of SP. If you go Highlander, you will spam your Skyliner in grinding. There’s no place for Keel Hauling.”

but if i use the keel hauling the enemy will come close to me right? so i can atack it?
someone have a video of keel hauling in pvp so we can see how it is?

You can attack them assuming they don’t cast CC on you while you are pulling them, and they don’t keep running on the opposite direction.

when i cast hauling can i pull the first time and stop pulling, so i can dash to the enemy?

I’ve never seen a video of KH on PvP before, but I assume it’s not good at all or very situational. If your opponent is far away from you and you use it, you’ll spend a lot of time pulling him, making you vulnerable and less useful for your team.

Just remembering: Iron Hook Chain attribute (wich you can capture three enemies) doesn’t work with Keel Hauling.

Btw, I really prefer Highlander over Barbarian. If you want a “total PvP” 2H Swordsman, choose Barbarian C2. If you want a kind of balance (PvE and PvP), choose Highlander C2. The two choices are good.

i’m planning going highlander c3, corsair or squire and doppel.
my ideas was to use the hook next the enemy and cyclone while he cant do anything.
and the keel hauling would be something to use right before the hook ends, cus it apply a 10sec bleed.

You can use Cross Cut too. It applies bleeding for 10s and deals more damage.

but sometimes u just cant use it, like in pvp, if u alredy have a 10sec bleed u dont need to waste a move with cross cut (if the enemy is far from u and run away, at least u are doing some dmg too). also in pve u can use 10sec extra bleed for cross liner

thats what i think, but not being able to pull the enemy is bad =/

If you can capture your opponent and use Cyclone just like you said, you’ll be able to use Cross Cut too.

However, I think it’s a good skill for PvE (same base damage of Helm Chopper lvl 5), but I can see you using Cross Cut instead of KH in these situations:

(0:10) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1Cm-39etXM

and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BI4B3PTL1so

You can get it, but I recommend to use other skills on PvP.

the idea is just use it when i’m far from the enemy and the hook is about to end. if i’m close is better just cyclone

So, you have two options.

a) Pull an opponent and apply bleeding to him with Keel Hauling.
b) Capture three opponents at the same time with Iron Hook Chain attribute, allowing your team to attack them.

u know how the capture 3 enemies work? do i have to aim all, or it goes auto?
nvm

I’ve decided to make two separate characters for builds.

Swordsman C2 > HL C2 > Corsair > Dop 1 > Will Decide

Swordsman C1 > HL C1 > Barb C3 > Dop 1 > Will Decide

The second build is assuming some changes will eventually come to Barb or swordsmen in general.

The first will just be an all-arounder/hook support build.

Thanks for all the input!
