1hand sword, swordsman only

It’s has been brought to my attention today that the new one-hand swords are swordsman only. You can still equip it on a hackapell with the attribute but clerics are left out. Before R9 every class besides Archer could use them. Why the decision to change that now? You added a physical based cleric class (zealot) but decided to make 1h swords unusable for them. A lot of you will say “just use a 2h mace or use a 1h mace, it’s better anyhow” but imo a sword is better than both those options. I hope IMC will reconsider their decision but I don’t see that changing. RIP

Weird, muy clerics use 1H swords

The 350 crafted Masinios Sword along with all new HG 1h swords are swordie only. Any of the faded HG 1h swords along with the crafted 315 orange etc are still usable by clerics. Basically you cant put the new “BIS” 1h swords on clerics :’(

Why should swords be better for clerics?
Swordman don even use 1h swords ~.~

That’s sort of the point I’m making. Very few people even use swords. Why would they further limit the use by only making it usable by swordsman. Not saying should be or is better for clerics, but depending on your build swords > mace for clerics. But with the changes, its not even an option for clerics anymore.

Oh please, we all know who the real sword users in this game are: archers!

On a serious note, hackappels are the only true sword wielding builds in endgame if I remember right.

This is not true, even the old Hunting Grounds 1-handed swords were Swordman only, so nothing new here, it’s all in line with what they did with previous versions before.

You were able to equip low level 1-sword only or Pierene Sword/Abdochar (which are not from HGs).
Also, even if your build is very focused around Physical Damage, you are still gonna use some other spells in your Cleric ranks which may scale off MATK, that’s why Maces are better overall, since you get both PATK/MATK in one weapon.

If it’s something about style, I can’t argue with that, they could do a better job or rework Briquetting (Alchemist) in a proper way

Wizard should be able to use sword PROPERLY… why the heck using sword can turn into magical ball… -_-

YES… MELEEEE WIZARD!!!

I roleplay my characters, so not having the cool swords on my sword using characters is a problem D: + some sword builds kick blunt ass…

Eh, I guess you are right. I thought the HG swords were usable by anyone but its only the crafted 315s and anything outside HG. Which still doesn’t make sense why Masinios is swordsman only if we follow the same logic.

I really wanted the Masinios sword for my cleric because it is an all physical damage build. None of my damage is based on magic (monk3>zeal2) and the difference between 1h sword and 1h mace is significant, especially once you get into higher Trans’s.

This issue wont affect many people and I’m sure few have even thought about using a sword on a cleric because of the magic and physical skills cleric possess.

Sadly, stance/weapon forcing isn’t something new in TOS, most of the time when picking up ranks you’re forced to pick less desiderable ranks for your build because some skills aren’t usable in that stance/with that weapon, this is very true for most archers/swordman build, and the way you’re experiencing it on your Cleric is something along that way

Oh, trust me, being a swordie main, this is nothing new to me hahaha. Thankfully archers have a cool feature that auto swaps for them, while swordies are all manual if you decide to take that path (if you don’t mind losing your buffs).

Even the lolo and miki 1H swords are usable by cleric/wiz/swordie. So there’s definitely some misconception going on. Why some and not all ?
