1h Spear+ Sub vs 2H Spear for Dragoons c2

So, i would like to hear the opinion you guys have on the topic at hand. Although i really like the corsair c2 class ( Hexen dropper = life), the weapons physical damages and bonuses start to scare me of the path ( Sw 1 > Pel > Hop2 > Cor2 > Drag2) even more. The new 315 purple 2h weapons adds nothing short of 726 damage on leather type. Now, this, paired with the Dragoon atributte and a build where doppel 1 kicks in with DoV the damage seems to go higher and higher and makes me question:

Even with spear lunge+ serpetine debuff, could the x2 dethrone, x2 hexen compare with the DPS that two handed spear brings to goon 2 with the new weapons with high physical attack and bonuses ( what worries me the most is the 10% damage to boss, 20% to large type that dragoons have).

Share your opinions on this matter please, in hope i can sort out some of this mess in my head. Cheers, all.

It doesn’t matter whichever path you go to. As long as you can hit cap damage it’s fine. Bonus damage to boss just gurantee you hitting cap damage faster with less investment. Don’t look at the purple for investment look at the orange 315 which will be release in mths time.

2 hand goons are pretty much playing kill or be kill. 1hand + Shield/sub (with orange high Mdef shields will ensure you higher chance to survive later on) sub hand (new karacha upgrade) actually ensure you higher crits.

Cap damage as of now is 200k total per fake multi hit.

200k Per hit on a true multihit. That saying Multihit skills are lower in power generally. E.g Double slash 200k per 2 hit.

Do you really think the difference is negligible in that aspect ( as it only matters who hits the cap first)? Because in a WB scenario, e.g, i could potentially lose my cube against the damage the 2h spear dragoon counter-part would generate, as he has 20% to medium size(if hop3), and 10% to boss ( as he is a 2h user).

Thanks for you opinion btw.

if you mean Demon lords. You prolly won’t need to worry a cap Dragoon will outclass every one except fencers and dopple.

Demon lords wb works like this. Once you hit a thresh hold of damage you get the cube. Same goes to certain wb like Ella. Which is why you have rank 7.

As long as you are able to deal near 10%-20% of the hp durign the whole fight it’s guarantee a cube.

If you are banking on gimmick bosses like Dulla. it’s basically whoever burst faster win aka Top 6 DPS.

But you see if dulla only has 12m hp. You basically need to just shave off 2m alone and it’s 100% a cube. For instance if you cap regardless 1 full rotation will give you 2m damage. it;s a free cube. Unless theres more than 40 people i doubt it will be that fast or there happen to be 6 fencers.

To add in this days on lower WB. such as dulla theres only like 3-4 people there it’s hard work to kill it off with 4 people (12m ) :sob:

Guess everyone is busy rushing to 317 for items or 290 for dun

I’ve had little to no experience with Demon Lords encounters, so that was making me worried, since i though the bonus damage from both attribute and weapon would easily top off a 1h+sub setup, even though hexen dropper with lunge and serpentine debuff seems like a F*king strong burst damage which can go off in a pretty short time.

I do have a lvl 224 with the hop3 > dop1> drag1 build, which i was going to level, but i just seem to like Cors2 build a whole lot more. I’ll probably continue with the 1h+sub setup and later on, when i decide to play it again i will level it up and set it with a good 315/330 2h spear and compare damages myself. I just wanted to make sure of certain things before dedicating to the long grind that awaits me in the next few days.

Thanks alot for all of your inputs, @unicorntheshiny .

Theres pros for each of the builds.

Hop3 > dop excels more into PVE.
Cors 2 is more towards PVP. and the farming is extremely good.

So which ever way it’s fine. As long as you know what you are ending up with.
Main attraction is Hop3 for less dex investment. (more cater towards Max min builds and high crits to save on gems.) 150 crit rate + aoe ratio.

Corsair have hooks which is awesome. And well still have a few bugs here and there…

Hexen dropper scales off later though. As compare to dop dov but the setup negates your defenses totally. (you will be getting truck hitted by mobs later with 300 def since dov - 50% defense at lv 5.

Highly depends on your playstyle. At cap investment wise both is actually fine. Since either way you are ending up with dragoon and dragoon is actually a high tier (good enuff stand alone class)

Yeah you’re right about that. I will keep with the corsair2, since i really like Hexen Dropper alot more than i like cyclone or DoV for the matter.

Even though i only get 100 crit rate with finestra this way, i think i can compensate those 50 crit rate and still remain pretty good in terms of DPS.

Really looking forward to dragoon c3 to add some sort of Jump-like dive skill, to make it even more awesome to use dual wielding hahahahaha.

gae blog jumping throw was a nice animation… but it was kinda plain bad meh… useful for 1 pointer after skill reset for the buff i guess
