Tree of Savior Forum

What is accepted as a Fansite, and what is not (Important to know.)

Or Selling them ^^.

Heck, people would be lucky to get a real one at least…

Still laughing at them.
Someone stupid enough to buy a key from an untrustworthy soul … shall be glad if 20 or so bucks is everything thats gone by then xD.

Well, to be fair, those of us interested in the game may have not heard about it in time for the registration period. You can’t be up to date on TOS news if you don’t know TOS exists. I know I only found out about it today, two days too late to register for CB2, because I was being nostalgic about Ragnarok Online and saw a Youtube comment on the OST “I Miss you” and someone mentioned this game.

I feel awkward every time when I saw stuff you mention that doesn’t count show up in fan site.

When talk about fan site. I thought of a website that have fully information of game. Where people put effort to gathering and share it. Something like group would do the same in some part but they’re not really ‘web site’.

There isn’t truly enough information of the game to actually have a true fansite, but if the fansite is setting up layouts and organizing itself to be ready then it’ll be used once the full game is released.

Right now Tree of Savior just needs legit fansites in different languages. So that there will be ease of access for different languages. Or even better, a multilingual fansite with multiple people working on translations for different languages.

I might not say it clearly. It doesn’t need to be whole information of everything in game. But at least it should be fully relate to TOS mainly or alone for whole site. Not as sub group in some other site or something.

Because right now there are many people bring up site which isn’t directly related to TOS except that they’re interest and want key to try game as in a person or group.

Since GM said
However, if you are a fan site manager, we may consider providing you with more keys. Please make sure your site information is updated at the following address of our website.

It’s awkward to see those site put up as fansite. Some isn’t even a website but they’re a person or streamer. :disappointed_relieved:

I think all of my fansite examples in the main post count as real fansites.

Yes it did. What I mean awkward is those “Facebook groups, Steam groups, and whatever else that count as something similar, do not count as a fan site” that you mention. Awkward as when I saw they posting as a fan site because it shouldn’t count as fan site if look into it. Sorry if I make you misunderstanding.

Like this?

I don’t know. That one have website but I can’t read their language. XD

Maybe something like a thread that post just a facebook group or facebook page alone. (cough… I didn’t know facebook ‘like’ can now count as size of community)
Or someone who post his/her personal facebook.
Or streamer who include follower as size of community.
Or website/forum that isn’t related to TOS which have group of ppl who interest in TOS in their community.

Well, some forum may possible to count it as community but I don’t think something like youtube channel, streamer or facebook can count as fan site. When seeing they posting it make me feel awkward because they’re trying so hard to fit those site in as fan site.

In my first reply “When talk about fan site. I thought of a website that have fully information of game.” is what I think of a site that are on your example list while comparing to a website that shouldn’t count as fan site. (ex. They’re not real website = youtube channel or facebook page and not relate or not have any information about TOS, etc.)

Basically the list of site you mention in example are all fine and they’re all good fansite. Hopefully this post clear up what I say about because I’m not good at explaining stuff. :scream:

I get it now I think

Pretty old fashioned, no? Tons of developers and publishers give streamers and youtubers keys and such to give out to their audience nowadays, since those reach the most people. Most people use reddit, Steam or other aggregates instead of game-focused websites (with the exception being stuff like databases that provide tools for use). This section’s FAQ also says that communities should be posted here, not just fansites.

So yeah, have to say I disagree. Although I do agree that groups made just yesterday in attempt to get keys are not the way to go about this.

It’s not about section, The reason they post now is because of key.

As IMC mention…
“However, if you are a fan site manager, we may consider providing you with more keys.”
so it’s depend on what IMC meant as fan site I guess. If look in dictionary fan site mean “A website dedicated to a particular person or subject and run by a fan or fans of the person or subject”.

I understand some streamers or youtubers have their way to give out keys and they might help publish to let everyone know about TOS with their stream. Honestly I don’t mind them at all but sometime I wonder is it able to cover in as a fan site or not for key? In the end I have no right to judge who is allow to get key as fansite though, Everything will up to IMC.

Sad to read a list of TOS fansite without the one i work for ! http://www.tree-of-savior.fr/
It’s just this “little fansite” who made the cosmetic simulator (and alot of other things, some of them not released yet) :frowning:

I’ll add it to the list, in case anyone is looking for a fansite in French (That’s the language right?). Looked around and it seemed legit.

Yes it’s french and yes we’re legit xD

Are you part of the Tree Of Savior team?

I’m not (if you’re asking to me) and i’m pretty sure @LoliLicker is not too.
But the point is that Forum/facebook group/twitch channel/Steam groups doesn’t mean Fansite.
And if a list can be made, even by just a member, why not ? It can clarify which link is a fansite and wich isn’t.

I started a TOS Facebook group and this seems confrontational to our thread which was posted here months before that announcement was made, just because we don’t have that substantial amount of members that you deem is appropriate. :persevere: I mean even if we are just a small community made by players in Facebook because it is the most convenient for us, doesn’t mean we aren’t capable of growing into a great one… we have to start somewhere and this subforum was our only way of connecting to other Tree of Savior International players out there.

Now people see us as those who shouldn’t even have a place in this subforum and there has been very little to no requests ever since this was posted 3 days ago. I know this was made because of your dislike for key hoarders but still, we can’t help but be affected by this generalization you made. :persevere:

I never made a generalization against Facebook groups and the like. In the main post, I simply stated that creating a fansite (Any kind of fansite) just for Beta Keys, is not what a fansite is supposed to be created for. Also, when I do find a post talking about their Facebook group being a fansite, all that I’ve really done is inform them that it doesn’t count as a fansite. It’ll look like something similar to this.

The main reason for the generalization so far is probably because of all the spam of “Please give me a key”, “I forgot to register, how do I get a key now”. So most people will see fansites that don’t count as one as just another way of them wanting to get keys. Especially if they’re posting in Fansites with something that doesn’t actually count as one.

It sounds like your Facebook group (Many others as well) should be posted in Community. There are people already starting to create Guild posts in Community, and I see no wrong for Facebook groups and the like to be in there as well.

Huh, why are you making us go to that subforum when we are trying to promote our facebook group - which is a site you go to - and not a guild or other in-game community. We are fans reaching out to others who would also prefer using facebook as the site to go to for TOS discussions, and this is the fansite subforum- not an exclusive club for big websites with keys. Trust the judgement of the IMC staff for that key war you are upset about, it’s their job not yours. You don’t have to push away small sites like us.
