We need to talk about the Wizard Rebalance

don’t panic with the ice pillar change, they just switched frost pillar and frost cloud around. The new elementalist skill storm dust(?) pulls enemies and is only a circle 2 skill (this replaced frost cloud).

If what I understood from google translate is to be believed, quicken scales with SPR while haste scales with INT and almost all other chrono skills uses items so chrono seems like such a pain to use now lol.

What I don’t understand is, the new skill is C2 and they removed Frost Cloud and Rain both from C3. Elementalist C3 will have no skills? lel

but i like my cryo skills… frost tree is the only reason i have friends… now i’ll that edgy loner wiz…

o.O?! If quicken and haste really scale from different stats then… I’m gonna be quite upset…

Well at least meteor is there to fill the 3rd circle(?)

Meteor is Circle 2…

Meteor is now the c3 skill and it also gets an attribute that will make it stronger when used with flame ground(?)

Frost Cloud now serves as Cryo’s Frost Pillar but with additional freezing.

While new skill Storm Dust (old Frost Cloud) now acts as Frost Pillar (pull) but with slow and damage.

I am not hyped by these changes :c
I was waiting but now that they posted I kinda regret…

Many skills will now consume items that means I will have to waste my inventory weight to carry them and buy from time to time (not to mention that will cost me a lot of silver coz I have nervous finger and always refresh my buffs before they end).
It will be harder to build full sup wizards and I can’t stick with full CON anymore cuz skills are going to scale with INT and SPR (?)
What botters me more is that they will give limited resets again, and as a person that have a lot of wizards I will not be able to test many things.

Both the Wizard changes and the Swordsman changes (esp shinobi, corsair and dopp) in these notes look really insteresting/strong for me (outside of additional items to bring so I’ll probably just avoid those classes), which honestly makes me feel really bad for the entire archer tree and all the other trees not included (looking at you alchemist). Also I’m personally relieved that sorc didn’t get nerfed to the ground, but sorc3 didn’t get anything interesting either so it’s a so-so.

I think Storm Dust hardly compare with Frost Pillar, it only act like pseudo-Frost Pillar.
I think Sorcerer with the Succubus’ skill is better in that.

I don’t know is it a good change or not, but all high end content heavily rely on Frost Pillar,
Frost Pillar has made everything to be a cheesy trip. This change is definitely breaking the way of how we are rolling high end content.

I feel sad as well, i enjoy so much using cryo3+warlock3 but i accept if it will make the game better. I also currently using it to speed pulling all monsters in Unique Raid 330.

At the same time, AoE Wizards have much more options and combination now, Wiz12-3/Pyro2-3/Cryo3/Psycho2-3/Elementalist2-3/Warlock3/Runecaster.
Even Cryo3-Psychokino3-Enchanter2 is good combo,

What it costs to use your support skills now:

Pyromancer:
Hell Breath now requires an item - 80 silver

Cryomancer
Frost Pillar now requires an item - 80 silver

Thaumaturge:
Swell Left Arm now requires an item - 100 silver
Swell Right Arm now requires an item - 100 silver
Swell Brain now requires two items - 100 silver x2 = 200 silver

Sorcerer:
Summon Servant now requires an item - 2000 silver

Chronomancer:
Stop now requires three items - 100 silver x3 = 300 silver
Reincarnate now requires five items - 100 silver x5 = 500 silver
Quicken now requires an item - 100 silver
Haste now requires an item - 100 silver
Back Masking now requires two items - 2000 silver x2 = 4000 silver
Pass now requires an item - 2000 silver

Enchanter:
Enchant Lightning now requires an items - 100 silver
Enchant Earth now requires an item - 100 silver

On the bright side Firewall now always casts 8 fire walls in front of you, has an over heat of 3, and a reduced cooldown of 20 seconds. Fireball now lasts 10 seconds (with an attribute that increases its duration). But did they really have to nerf Enchant Fire like that… :l

EDIT: I think I was wrong and Enchant Lightning only requires ONE item.

I’m honestly not sure what draws Korean developers to add outdated mechanics like reagents to skills, it doesn’t add any depth to the game, especially when the reagents cost near nothing.

Certain skills like Squires repair makes sense, but to cast Frost Pillar, why?

Anyways, some really interesting changes here, lots I agree with and only a few I don’t.

I think the reagents are “okay” as some sort of ammo or limitation but the weight system needs to be removed from this game. They should also add an inventory limit for certain reagents if they really want to treat it as some sort of limitation (for example, can only bring enough items to be able to use backmasking 5 times at a time).

Of course this only works for more mission based types of games but wth the game is all over the place anyway lol. If anything IMC needs to stop introducing random elements and mechanics from other games and just think of what they want to achieve before coming up with something that will fit the game.

Outside of Falconer, Musket and the continuous Quarrel Shooter buffs, I really feel like Archers didn’t get any changes when almost every one of their classes need it more than Wizard tree who are already very very strong. :confused:

But I feel bad for Wizards too all these items RIP.

Musket is the only one on par with some of these wiz changes imho. The falconer changes appear more like “fck circling is causing our servers to crash all the time we need to do something that doesn’t involve an overhaul on the game engine” lol.

On that note I’m surprised they want to see more people with clones. They also added more effect heavy skills like heavy gravity and dust tornado so I really don’t know anymore. Well at the very least I hope they end up stressing the game engine more so they end up being forced to improve on it.

Just here to remind people complaining about alchemist that homuncuclus skills got affected at the very least.

So now Swash>wiz pull skills? :satisfaction:
