Maybe not for the hardcore ones since getting orange 315ā€™s probably isnā€™t a problem for them.

Iā€™m still hearing people saying theyā€™re just saving up their shards for when they get their purple/orange 315 - and yeah even if it takes them weeks to months.

I myself have 2 mystical cubes already that Iā€™ve been trying my luck on for months now (already rolled another char to 317+ and first cube still isnā€™t giving me prac yet, f*cking RNG).

So I went to https://tos.neet.tv/items/242152 , checked the in-game market for the price of the Pevordimas Spear, and did some rough math to see if itā€™s worth it to:

###1. Buy the spear and up it to +11

Luckily that day 1-slot ones were just around 1m (unidentified costs 2-3m back then, 2-slots 6-10m). Considering I didnā€™t want to bother with using high-level gems on this one since Iā€™m just going to break it down later on anyways, I didnā€™t want to risk my luck on the unidentified ones for the chance of getting a max-slot because RNGesus and just bought the cheapest 1-slot one. The 2-slot ones felt too overpriced.

Also luckily again, I managed to upgrade it to +11, eating away potential half-way. +6 wouldā€™ve still been fine though, less risk of enhancement failure, and enhancement now doesnā€™t scale with transcendence anyways. Got it slotted and slapped a lv.5 Green Gem.

###2. Use almost all of my shards to a degree (stage 4-5 was kinda the most optimal for me) to transcend it and be happy with the damage for the time being

Shards last time I checked are dirt cheap already (Iā€™ve seen 80k as lowest at times on Telsiai), though maybe that was just temporary due to gacha flood back then.

I had enough shards (having played on-and-off since EA) to get the spear to stage 4. Maybe even stage 5 if I didnā€™t keep selling my shards months ago (needed silver for altā€™s attributes).

###3. Extract the shards, losing 10% of shards spent and destroying the weapon

The rough math I did resulted in a 5m total silver loss if I extracted the shards eventually (about 6.5m if I went to stage 5) and destroyed the weapon.

#So, was it worth it?

It was! After transcending, the weapon got a nearly 1k damage increase which is amplified by skill multipliers.

That 5m loss can easily be recovered (and I already did) by how faster Iā€™m able to clear mobs especially when I can now 1- or 2-shot most monsters that drop the 315 mats. Less pots and less time spent. At this rate, it seems Iā€™ll be able to buy practoniums even before Iā€™ll get one from my own mystical cubes.

It has also helped be not so overpowered by high-trans orange-geared players in TBL which is primarily what Iā€™ve been playing the game for right now.

The damage increase was good enough that Iā€™m now shifting my focus on getting a good armor set instead (still stuck w/ Nyx).

It really relieved a big chunk of frustration regarding damage for end-game.

Why wait?

how many shards do i need for every stage?

Varies from item to itemā€¦ also, you need gems, not shards, hence you multiply that value by 10 shards for every blessed gem you need.

Hereā€™s an example. To get stage 10 on Vienarazis Mace, you need a total of 254 Blessed Gems (or 2540 Shards), going from Stage 9 to Stage 10 costs 74 BGs.

Wait, extracting the gems will also destroy the weapon? Also, is the attack enhancement from transcendence only affected by base attack or is item enhancement included in the calculation? Thank you.

Extractingā€¦ Weapon ?Not sure how I can say that, From gem will destroy the gem.

Enhancement was include in the Transcendence system BEFORE THE COMBAT PATCH.
Now enhancement isnā€™t include anymore, only the base damage is increase.

Question: Can we extract blessed gem from a weapon with 0 potential?

EDIT : Cannot? the weapon must be have at least 1 potential?
EDIT2 : I think we can, but need more transcendance stage to extract. Maybe the gems invested should be more than 1?

Sorry I canā€™t answer that question though it doesnā€™t make sense if we canā€™t. Good question.

That is something I did not know. I know for sure though that at stage 4 Iā€™m able to extract 90% of my spent shards.

No, they can not be put in team storage.

Yes, you can extract blessed gems with a 0 potential weapon, before quitting I got my Sarkmis to +23 just to see how far could I get it, using all golden anvils I had from the begining, but was left with 0 potential, stage 8 transcendance, I could extract the blessed gems just fine, they were worth more than the weapon, to give away.

Sorry noob question here. If anvil enhancement doesnā€™t adds to transcendence, then what is the point of getting it to a high level of enhancement before transcending? Is it cos it still just adds base enhancement damage instead of multiplying?

Personally, I prefer to enhance first before transcending.

If I enhance first and donā€™t get lucky where the weapon reaches low potential while still at low enhance levels, I can at least still sell it or give it to an alt.

If I transcended first, Iā€™ll be stuck with that equipment whether I got lucky with enhancements or not since it becomes untradable and non-transferable. My only options are to break the weapon and get the gems, or the other way around - both of which will cost me more.

Getting to +6 is almost always guaranteed anyways so itā€™s a safe bet. The worst that could happen is losing a potential or two.

yup what you mention i understand. what iā€™m curious is, is there still a reason to get super high enhancement for transcending since it no longer stack?
