Twohanded sword build?

I’m between Swordsman2-Barbarian3-Dopple3
or Swords2-Highlander3-Dopple3

what’s the difference will the two provide towards dopple later on?
Barbarian looks a bit too busy, and HIghlander has that nice +50% crit damage even if warriors tend to not have that high of one

if it is ABSOLUTELY needed for you to have sw2 i would say go barb 3 way.

since it has been buffed on KToS big time and we will eventually get it

in what ways was it buffed?
I’m kind of confused on the actual synergy of the moves in the warrior tree

there is a new thing in barb 3 tree (an attribute) called feral?? it buffs all barb skills

you can get like 200extra crit rate and ton of attack

You still want dopp even with whats gonna happen to it?

what do you mean?

I don’t see anything that BAD from the recent updates. if you mean the Cyclone “nerf”, it depends on a persons perspective. I don’t see it as a nerf, lower duration means I can spam other skills faster, means I’m not just stuck in being another beyblade. Besides even though they decided to lower the duration, they increased the number of hits per second, so it kinda even it out though I cannot confirm that 100% sure.

Besides, DoV is getting a buff (75% def penalty for 150% increase in attack), Sturtz is also getting a buff.

@c2gaming.seetoo hahaha spotted the meta player.

Yeah sure but def is gonna matter a lot more later on (if/when we get the def/mdef patch). Though I’m not sure how DoV is gonna affect it though. Will it be:
(100% base def) - (75% DoV) + (10% x rank)
or
[(100% base def) + (10% x rank)] x (25% DoV)

The boost to def will make it easier to reach def values for 1 damage but DoV is gonna put a dent in that. Taking 1 damage vs taking full damage is just worlds apart.

The new def bonus will probably come in first since it’s a passive. Even before the update, Doppel is really built on being a risky type of class, it even says so on the description. I tried making a non-DoV Doppel but with the recent changes made to DoV, the devs are really making sure that you must take DoV (which kills class diversity imo).

But still 25% of your defense is better than having no defense at all. They’re in a better position than before.

I get the risk part, but having this change means IMC acknowledges that the increased damage was too much and they had to dial it back somehow. Unless that change includes 10% more eva per rank, it does next to nothing for dopps.

well it just goes back to the players choice if he/she takes the risk of being Doppel, or one could also try making a non-DoV Doppel (like I did) if survivability is the problem, but trust me, it will miss a lot of potential.

which is why they reduced the def reduction on DoV as well. but 150% damage increase at level 15 is too much if it doesn’t have a drawback, doppel is our berserker kind of class that trades survivability for more attacking power. its just the way it is. I’d recommend it if you are in perma group/guild/party where someone could heal/support you but for a solo player I wouldn’t.

but like I said it’s up to the player if they are willing to risk it.

imo, they should have rather reduced the mobs stats post 280 maps instead. the def buff would make the game hell of a lot more easier now.

I guess we can leave it at that then.

@dwojunkmail if you’re not dead set on dopp, why not try the highnobi: Sw3-Hl2-B1-Sh-x and role play a sonic blow sin from RO

I’d be stoked if we have something similar to RO’s Sin, Stalker and Crusader.

I’m miss my devo pally

Well, clones will be able to copy [moulinette], that’s sonic blow ish.

not interested in shinobi from what i seen how others do, and not in the mode for the gimmicky burst it is.

already have a support character, a gimmicky burst in a runecaster, and a halfway of the two in a krivis/taoist.

want something that has a decent sustained high dps, and not the fencers that are growing like weeds on everyone’s account.

The only twohanded sword viable build are barb>doppel path and maybe high>shinobi. The others viable builds on swordman tree are pelt>rod>shino>mur, fencer and dragoon.

Highlander 3 is kinda support damage tbh. That armor break is great for bossing as well as Crown but that’s it. I’d consider High3 > Barb1 for that Cleave debuff trading utility for more DPS (or less DPS because you would have lower Pain Barrier duration)
So don’t consider High3 for core DPS is what I’m trying to say.
