We need someone to do what @Staff_Julie did
Hum~ Iām not really for it. Because Iāve been in this role before and it was more troubles than anything, really. Because people are childish.
Itās like what Strawberry said.
I started as a basic moderator, but then I was kind of āpromotedā to be the boss right under the official staff, and it was terrible.
Power trips, thinking theyāre better than the others, scaring the community, unable to stay neutral, saying fake info they didnāt double check, and all this kind of crazy things.
To that you also add, at some point, fights between moderators. And then instead of focusing 100% of your moderating time to moderate correctly you have to deal with intern childish issues, and even the official staff ends up being dragged into it.
Even if people were tested before, and all, I donāt know, some people at some point would just suddenly turn into douches. Itās when the power hit their head, I guess.
Volunteers donāt have any training, and since itās not an actual job they donāt truly care about being āfiredā or anything.
Iām not totally against it, but in my opinion itās too ādangerousā and could finish to destroy the forum.
They totally need to hire real professional staff though. Itās more than urgent.
I understand that you guys think itās a need because we got nothing else better for now, and itās sinking. But Iām just not sure. Iāve lost my trust in volunteers.
Theyād need anyway some official staff to take care of those moderators, and I doubt they have the spare staff to do that.

While I do appreciate the thoughts that most of these responses have, I still stand by what Iāve said before. I think some extra hands are needed. Instead of saying why it doesnāt work, how about suggesting some additional measures instead? This is the suggestion forum.
I would love to see other ideas instead of just nos/negativity/bad ideas.
@Goldie I agree that I would like to see more active posting and moderation from the staff. It would be really nice. Right now I suppose that many of them are fairly busy with the server database merge stuff, thatās all I can think it could be. Iām hoping we get a fix for the event bug going around right now -_-; Iād like to actually be able to get the title at the end of it.
I once saw a forum burst into flame and become dust, because the trust was put in unpaid modsā¦
The Staff is fine as it is, hell I would say they still have too much power and I hope they stay on the good side of the line foreverā¦
I fully support having community mods that come from the player base. The amount of people violating the ToS on the forums alone is beyond the scope that can be dealt with by a few people. However, I think it should be a decision made by the dev team, not players, due to the likely abuse a player poll would result in.
Side Note: Player moderators are fairly common in MMOs and I canāt stop myself from laughing at the peeps acting like itās some bizarre notion thatās never been done before and ruins games.
Agreed. At least with a system like this weād have official communication in easy to understand English, more frequent replies from mods/staff,and less rule breaking posts, which would likely result in higher morale.
#This 2 cents (TL:DR) are proudly sponsored by a panda knight with an arsonist mindset and shyts half digested coffee beans 24/7ā¦
@moderators ⦠Please consider the top suggestionā¦
Thank you very much.
Not that they dunāt careā¦majority of them are not fluent in English and have no clue how to translate or let alone understand what we are writingā¦which is kinda of a joke tbhā¦
so iām guessing that they assume the safest way to answer these queries are copy pasting answers XDā¦
Iāll prob ditch that idea ā¦the rest are fine though.
Iād rather leave the in game stuff to them
Reasons
-
You will somehow be representing IMC regardless if ur a volunteer or notā¦and ppl might pressure you for answers with regards to thisā¦as if the forums werenāt bad enoughā¦seeing the latest bugs exploitā¦Iād rather not get into the heat of itā¦
-
POWER TRIPSā¦with that much power in your handsā¦one can succumb to such temptationsā¦
.Same applies to in game eventsā¦i think u can figure this out XD like what Strawberry mentioned
The last thing we need on these forums is a power trip
- Time,effort and planningā¦without the $$$$ā¦
Donāt forget about you require time and effort to plan and host in game eventsā¦and as a volunteer ur not gonna get paid too.You mostly gonna require to also submit those events prob to IMC probably to get their approval and the permission to host itā¦
I agree fully on thisā¦
But that up to whether IMC wants to implement this system⦠and how they gonna pick a volunteer moderator / game sage.
So far i can only see them making bad decisions after bad decisions⦠so its hard to tellā¦
How they manage thisā¦its all in their handsā¦this is coming from their concerned and die hard fans after all⦠the ball is their court. and its all up to them to decide
This⦠cause half the time im lmao with the replies tbhā¦
And he/she also acts as a representative of the forums where the mods can communicate with. This will optimize the time needed to go through the forums and also the translation time.
This will also ensure that issues regarding the game and players concerns can be collected and translated to the relevant team/department in their HQ so that a QnA can be drafted asap to answer to their community.
I wonāt blame them⦠most of them troll to vent their frustration with regards to how the game is being managed and the direction where the game is headingā¦if there was a direction that is.
#Though there are some trollsā¦who troll for their own entertainmentā¦and i gotta admit ⦠i tend to sometimes cause it curbs my sadistic lustā¦
Hueeuhehuehuehuee
Worst of all are the blind white knights⦠no seriously⦠WTF???
But lets face it⦠this game population is slowly deteriorating⦠iāve been monitoring it myself and its a factā¦
Hype is one thing⦠and a games population naturally goes down after people start to find that the game does not suit their taste⦠But after 3-5 months what it remains usually are the fans/players whom has taken an interest in itā¦
Take a look at the period in steam charts where they open their gates to new players⦠uāll figure out your self. =p
There are to many flaws/bugs/exploits that needs to be addressed in this gameā¦though thats up to IMC⦠but forum moderation is a must ⦠and some of us (not me) are willing to take up the challenge.
But yesā¦your reasons still stands⦠we definitely need to moderate/(but not fully dictate) this type of threads as it impacts the views of newcomers.
Seriously?? Playing the race card?? Everyone is anon over here mate⦠no one knows ā ā ā ā until u reveal your race to them
#Pros:
- Free labor?!? (Why fucking not)
- Representative of the forum/game players
- Assist the staff with moderating the forumsā¦
- Entertain the community (Whether its is just a friendly discussion or through forum event)
- Assist the staff to address some issues brought up by the community
#Cons:
- Powerā¦Fckingā¦Abuseā¦(Cause why not)
- Misleading the community ā¦whether its intentional or not
ā¦
Canāt think of anything else.
Iām going back to play Blade(Boob) and Souls.
XD Just a note⦠that part about in game duties and stuff is what I was refering to from Aeriagames. I think I point that out at some point, but a few people didnāt see it. Iāll go back and edit the post to make that a little more clear. @_@
Edit: Fixed, I think.

Honestly, I would rather see more in-game mods (whether they are volunteers or not) than forum mods. At the end of the day, we play the game, not the forums
First of all⦠OP is talking about volunteer forum modsā¦
2nd of all⦠there is a need to moderate the forums⦠and with a volunteer to moderate the forums⦠they can concentrate more of their manpower into fixing the game rather then reading and answering everyones gdamm questions⦠regardless of copy pasting
Do you even read before replying?
Here have my like
Iām completely aware my post is a huge hors-sujet. Itās just an opinion that gives no value to the OP but we all feel it, so I had to say it
Iām not against that sort of thing though. Itās just I know a of folks feel thatās very easily abused/gets preferential treatment ect. Iāve worked customer service, in the gaming industry and as a teacher over the years. These kinds of jobs/volunteer situations arenāt as easy or fun or as easy to abuse as a lot of folks are suggesting but having someone to line up or verify say⦠bug reports? So that the GMs just have to go banhammer them? That frees up a good bit of time.
Not to mention helping monitor threads for problems that need escalated during off hours, and having individuals who can open up an extra line between players and the staff sometimes is really handy.
Iām trying not to say a whole lot because I donāt want to sound super biased or that I think Iām the person for this kind of job. Itās merely a suggestion to help with the overflow here on the forums (or in game, as I stated Iām personally not against that) even if it was just temporary.

Donāt know if this idea is sill up, is it @Rabbit?
Just wanted to say that I full-heartedly support all of this. Yes, there are a few points to discuss regarding āSuperPowerbelieveMOD!ā and such, but I think all of them are manageable.
Iād rather have these forums moderated by Staffs from OUR community than by the current IMC Staff.
COMM Staffs would be much more effective in being active dealing with daily problems and replying threads here and there. All of this eventually would sum up to create a more reliable atmosphere around here.
So, +1 cheers to that.
Oh and I apologize for acting like a wacko the past few days. Was very frustrated. Iām sorry. (ā āø āć)
