I have to agree on that, specially since most of us don’t bother with P2W crap in a game. Level Up Games is a living example.

Fortunately not most think that way and would love to this game to take a turn for a true RPG, but i guess it is not this time either.

Tos may not be perfect, but still is possible have some hours of fun, and I support the game because I love the game style. It must be hard to play competitive in tos, since there is so much bots/exploiters/whales/bad optimization etc. But… I still have fun playing it occasionally, and waiting for improvements inside the game, if I get bored and want play a real competitive game, CS, lol, shadowverse, are good options for this. But in aspects of pve, customization, and class system, I think tos is a good game for play and may grow big if the company keep listening community, and work faster.

There is no competition in ToS, unless you count using your wallet as competitive, but if that is the case, i pull myself out of it.

This game wasn’t supposed to end up like this, Kim said so last year in an interview his plans to ToS, that got most of us hyped for a revolution in the MMO industry, but now here we are, in another generic MMO, just with a pretty case, but with a rot content.

Well, i don’t know their circumstances, but their approach is the most idiotic one, but for their luck, there are still people who pay for the idiotic stuff.

I am still waiting for something that may pick my interest immensely, like GW2, GW2 only don’t pick more of my interest because it is not Isometric.
But still a really good game.

I think the biggest error of tos, was to create so much perspective in player base. We waited for Tos launching 3 or 4 years, and we created much hype for this. The problem in this, is that they announced the game as a “revolutionary” or “Ro spiritual sucessor” before we could test it and check by ourselves if the game truly were, what they sold. The result of this was a big disappointment. The same happened with pokemon go, and no man’s sky this year. I think unless you are a big company (like blizzard) that can always announce their games as great ones, and attend the playerbase perspective, companies shouldn’t hype their products, especially the starter ones that didn’t proof their potential. So at least in case of pokemon go, and tree of savior, I guess it still have time for improve. Because they got some faithful playerbase, and they are differentiated in their category.

Creepy as hell :astonished:
But still, it’s a very nice pic

I don’t think that is the issue tbh with you, the game was incomplete and still is to begin with, we all knew from the start, but what is pissing most of us as of now, is the way they are conducting business, and the way they are dealing with our version’s patches.

We have been talking with them since last year, it wasn’t only 1 staff member, but some of them, even said that the company would avoid go in a P2W police.

Also, as patching goes, we still have bugs from the first CBT.

There is even a post from one of the staff explaining that some issues can’t be fixed due to be under a number of layers in the code or design of the maps, and to fix it, would require to redo all the affected files.

Now i ask you, how the hell a developer get in this kind of stick situation?

Is the engine’s fault? Is the people involved fault?

I don’t think it is the engine’s fault tbh with you. The engine might be old, but it hold some power in it, if you go to their site, even tho the last update was from last year, the game list where it was used is no joke.

I can only think of the developer team issue, why you ask? Because they can’t manage their own fixes.

Want an example? The buff bug and the bracelet bug that appeared after last patch.

The bracelet bug first appeared when they tried a desperate counter measure against the Hook64 multi weapon slots.

The buff bug if i am not mistaken first appeared last month’s during the Halloween Event.

Now after a couple of months we get the same bugs again, and those 2 bugs are only an example, i am sure there are more bugs that we faced before that came back in the latest patches.

It’s not that some of us hate the game, we love it, we want it to be a success, but the company behind it is lacking in: Transparency, Trust and Knowledge.

The players now only queue if you shout “I got instance clear, come and queue!” All the leechers will come and flock over and reward you with a thank you. (I am one of them, leechers ;D)

There goes your 300k per pop or 900k for 115 dungeon (3x Instance Clear for a 1x Two-Star Instance Clear) If you are rich, it’s okay I guess. Since time is money. Use instance vouchers if you don’t want to wait and queue for 1-2 hours.

Now the gameplay is like, skip 50 and 90 dungeon if you can find a Warlock to help you grind. Just grind at Royal Mausolem from 50 to 100, start doing mission and continue questing…

Oh right, you might not be able to get a queue in Siauliai mission either. No instance voucher for that. Good luck.

***PROTIP: Join a guild, members will usually help you out. Like using their alts to help you run 50/90 dungeon or missions.

The game is good in Beta, they dug their own grave when they input the restrictions without notice causing outrage to every player.

From the start, it is the management problem. The decision making, the directors, the boss. The way they handle things are so incompetent, being business minded and not from a gamer’s POV. They remind me of my previous company I work in. Freaking lousy management and no actions done, even after feedback and critiques are given.

Imagine,
Walking into a restaurant,
(Playing TOS)

Your dish is served differently than what you expected,
(Restrictions)

You complain and ask for a change,
(Feedback)

The waiter smiles at you and say “I will let the chef know”
(GMs)

After that, there’s no explanations at all, the waiter didn’t come back, the chef didn’t bother, either you eat the wrongly served dish or you pay and leave the restaurant.
(Continue playing or leave)

Many players chose the latter.

After losing so many customers, only the boss decide to take action and give explanations regarding restrictions and so on so forth. However, the explanations are lackluster, anyone with a brain knows it is damaging the players more than bots.

Then comes the TP price change and whatever shits I can’t remember since I quited back then. (The negativity of the players complaining etc etc got to me, TOS is way better now than before) They start releasing patch notes and give notice before taking actions. However, it is too late. The damage has been done. If your first impression of something is bad already, high chance you wouldn’t even bother to come back.

I agree with what you’ve said too, bugs from once upon a time still exist. For example, SR’s Retreat Shot. That is the freaking main damage skill for SR and it is bugged. When cast, there are chances it immediately stops. However, as we all know. IMC is busy fixing UI’s and not actual game mechanics.

Once again, it is the higher-ups decision. Who is the one leading the team and giving directions? Maybe there’s no lead at all. (Just like my previous company, no leaders, you do your own thing)

They should prioritize main issues like the buff counts on your screen where it is super noticeable and everyone goddam person knows we care about that. They are so busy fixing TBL shits, GvG queues, enhance exploits, crash exploits, because thanks to our hardworking players who always find ways to abuse. Then, you get “White Knights” who are unhappy that others found out how they abuse so they gotta be the first to report and be the “good guy”.

I find it damn funny like seriously, “Hey! I’m the first to discover this bug exploit and my guild has been doing it but now other guilds know about it too! I don’t allow it! IMC please fix this exploit! It’s okay if you fix it now! I have exploited and earn ■■■■ tons of silver! I can’t let other ppl have it too!”,

Is what those retards are saying. Like please, you are the reason, cancer is spreading in the game.

You also see players feigning innocence, saying “Oh, I didn’t know we can’t autopot, oh, I didn’t know we can’t bot, oh, I didn’t know we can’t use 3rd party software.” Yeah, you guys shouldn’t tell IMC how to do their job, you are a piece of trash yourself.

It is not just IMC killing the game, the players are contributing to it too with all their exploits, bots, negativity and exaggerations.

For example, “AHHH, R8 got link immune mobs! LINKER IS USELESS! FK IMC time to quit! My class is useless already!”

Which got me quite discouraged to play my linker at that time, however I continued playing and guess what… It’s not like all mobs are link immune, there’s only 1-2 type of mobs who are link immune.

With all the different builds out there, IMC is promoting you to get different comp of builds for your team to encounter the monsters. To prevent cookie cutter parties. Enabling other builds to have chance in grind parties too. In a way, this is actually good.

Other than that, there is also this false sense of competition. @Kalahari IMO, In the first place, the game was designed to be PvE and because of demands of players there’s PvP. If competition in a PvP POV, I’d understand.

However, the competition you see is not from PvP but PvE. The players here, from my observation, does not care about the classes. What they care about is DAMAGE. Is this consider competitive? I think not.

For example,
Dragoon A needs 1 hit to kill a monster.
Dragoon B needs 3 hits to kill a monster.
Did anyone complain?
No, because Dragoon B just thinks that Dragoon A has stronger gears and he is stronger than other class.

Dragoon B needs 3 hits to kill a monster.
Dopplesodner A needs 1 hit to kill a monster.
Did anyone complain?
Yes, Dragoon B is there whining about how Dopplesodner A is stronger than him in killing monsters.

After the scenario, Dragoon B decides to quit his char and reroll and Dopplesodner because “Dragoon is useless” and Dopplesodner is stronger.

Then you see players whining about Dopplesodner needing a nerf, and when it got nerfed, they jump ship again. History repeats.

Tell me again, where is the competition? I don’t see it. You don’t even need skills in PvE, the only thing you can compete in PvE is dealing damage to World Boss for cubes.

(Another stupid mechanic done by ToS, if you are weak, dream on world bossing, since you go there to help others get cube only. In Guild Wars 2, everyone work together to take down a dragon and you feel involved in the battle, you can see players helping each other and it is rewarding, everyone gets loot)

To get damage is just enhancing and spend silver. It only depends on your patience. However, players don’t really care about what they like to play but get the class that can deal high damage with non over-up gears because everyone is cheap. How cheap? To the extent of saying Taoist is very expensive. Mind you, these players have millions of silver. Tons of costumes. +15 gears. Yet, can’t pay few 1k-1.5k to cast a skill.

If you want competitive, go play MOBA or FPS, where everything is determine by reflex and skills, there’s literally almost close to none competitiveness in MMORPG’s. Let’s say, competitive in DAMAGE. Ok you +20 equip, have super high damage. Then what? Well, thanks. You kill mobs so fast, it help me a lot in my grind and quest. I wouldn’t even bother to compete in damage.

If PvP, everyone knows which class is strong in PvP. You wouldn’t be bringing a pure PvE char into PvP and complain that the game sucks. It’s like asking to be killed. RO is fine in PvE/PvP because the classes are fixed and you got nothing to complain.

To add about rank reset, this goddam crap should have been implemented at the very start and not only now. Players complaining that it is game breaking are just problem themselves. If you have a brain that actually thinks then I’m sure you know that no one would keep spending on rank reset but only when it really matters to their main character. Also all that talk about “players rerolling to create their perfect character so rank reset shouldn’t be allowed” is bullshit. Just say that you just copied the meta build. Oh? Players will play DPS build and just rank reset to support later on, so it is easier? Well, why not? They paid for it, are you going to say P2W? It just save them time and not everyone have all day to play, them buying it will benefit IMC which also benefit you, if it wasn’t for players who buy TP, where do you get your costumes, tokens, hat enchants? Who is maintaining the server so you can play for free?

Why I said the complaining players are problem themselves? They complain no rank reset, now finally got rank reset, they complain no stat reset. Where in the flying fvcks are your “Thanks IMC for rank reset”.

IMC should listen to these kind of players? Lol, no way in hell.

As much as IMC is destroying the game, a huge part of the destruction comes from the players themselves.

All in all, this is just some of my perspective of the company, the game and the players. I rather they get their basic shits right first instead of TBL and GVG. Server stability, no crash, stop giving problems every new patch, skill scrolls need names for easier search, buffs, F7 friend, blabla whatever you know, you name it.

Anyway, this became more of a rant and I got no idea what is it about anymore, hope you guys have a good read.

TLDR; Merry Christmas.

**EDIT1: Players crashing channel exploit may or may not have contribute to the server going haywire causing the current constant crashes then now they asking IMC why is it crashing or blaming it on IMC. Lol, dear bug abusers, please keep on turning off the switch to off your PC and tell me your PC won’t go crazy 1 day with blue screen.
