Tree Of Cleric: The Gemstone Feud Experience

Other way around. PVE content tends to be dominated by PVPers, which allows them to farm better gear faster.

Nah, these are different–though similar to why most people don’t PVP or even try anything difficult PVE-wise. They look for excuses, and it’s easiest to just say your class is bad than actually attempt to push it to the limits of what it can do and try.

Yes, but kabbalist is far more than the buffs it’s got. There is no “wasting” heals. You can get CC’d by a corsair or by anyone, it doesn’t matter. CC is relatively meaningless if someone can tank being CC’d, and then has the additional survivability on top of that after they are no longer CC’d, which a kabba does (especially after the healer changes, yikes).

I laugh so hard man. ahahahaha! :joy:

only murmillo can react, i i’m using one to farm on this pvp feudal, and i did’nt die agains’t sage2 i have like 25k magic defense with new peltasta and miss helmet of murmillo and i kill then too sometimes

In terms of what? Attitude/mentality?

Would like it alot more if I weren’t getting kicked out of the map every 10s. Doesn’t even put me on a team, just ports me to the middle then 10s later ports me out.

No. It’s meaningful because the actual goal of gemstone mine feud is not killing other players but instead mining those gemstones.
You can win just by keeping enemies CCed so they won’t collect any gemstones.

You don’t need to kill anyone. Being unkillable does not yield you anything, it just prevents other guys from stealing your gemstones.

I guess the whole discussion here is pointless, because you can win without killing anyone.

Why bother killing 1 Cleric with 6 guys if you can send 5 guys farming gemstones and win by quantity as you’re supposed to? The video of OP just showed a bunch of noobs who don’t know how to win the gemstone feud.

Those who are complaining about not being able to kill anyone are just sour Pkers who feel their fun is reduced if they can’t steal the spoils of other players.
Just farm the damn gemstones as you’re supposed to.

Imagine if no-one collects a single gemstone, then all the killing wont yield you nothing.
Collecting is the way to win this mode.
This is not TBL. You won’t lose if you can’t kill everyone on the enemy team.

At first the shop would close, I’d open it, put in 2000 coins, click exchange and the shop would close, it wouldn’t consume my purchase or say I purchased my 1 blessed gem, it wouldn’t give the blessed gem, just closed. However that has since change although I didn’t do anything that changed it as far as I know, now instead of the shop closing it stays open but the button doesn’t do anything, I can spam the exchange button and it clicks, but nothing happens.

You just contradicted yourself there. Like not being able to lose the only and most important resource there is not a big advantage…

Are you aware that the NPC that makes your efforts actually count can be killed? Are you aware that we can just camp the NPC, stay around it and deny/kill the farmers so all the gem farming is in vain?

P.S. I love you, your quotes will be in the history books.

Someone just showed me when we are inside we can make party… is it normal/intended? because I could only invite them from their chat names so I’m not sure that’s ok…

Also it would work like TBL if party would be intended no? xD

Killing the NPC only makes the team lose 30 points and it respawns after some time. It’s actually not worth to do it most of time.

wew, it’s pretty fun but my main concern is our population and the fact it’s generating like 4 small instances. Multiple 5v5s, 3v3s and 2v2s instead of putting us all in an 18v18+ like on the first days

It is just a bonus thing while you completely prevent them from returning the gems. It is not worth it if the other team is competent enough tho.

@Ayalon can’t know if it’s intended or not. I’d guess not since you’re forced to leave your party outside. Seems like an overlook but I have no info from ktos gemfeud changes, it might have been addressed there (either fixed or explicitly allowed).

I really wish they made each side a huge party so it would make sense to play with support characters (assuming no party is made inside.)

Also, good finding:
If you ever get bugged and can’t reenter gemfeud try entering it and click Change Character before you get moved out of the instance then pick another channel, one of them will work (because you’ll have an assigned team there and not in the other channels).

My theory is that party before entering will end up team mates thats why they disabled it for random match making purposes.

The only thing I really hate… is entering to this thing just to be instant nuked for everything…
Is more frustrating when is a 1vs1… then the other party start camping my NPC or the crystal zones, so I can’t even reclaim the points.
When you’re OP you can monopolize the whole map and hunt the other team without consequences.

Just to sate my curiosity, you are ThePurpleKnight on Klaipeda, right? Cause I can’t remember the last time you queued for TBL which was the only PVP content before this one.

If you care so much about PVP balance, but you dont PVP, how do you expect anyone to take you seriously?

Mentioning Langhort and anything related to Fencer in a topic about PVP just makes you look foolish.

I’ve only done TBL a few times because I hate the system and I have no interest in the top players, I don’t wanna call anyone out, but I know some people who aren’t very good but have been in the top 10 pretty often. I have watch one of the top 10 play Corsair Dragoon and do a long range hook and then sit there doing nothing for the duration of it. (It wasn’t on a valuable target either, some chump)

I’ve inspected the gear and builds of the “best players” and they are exactly what I’ve come to hate in PvP, players who focus so much on damage than it’s all they do, incapable of holding their own, the type of player who wants others to heal them and when they don’t have someone else supporting them their performance is in the dirt. Oh yea sure you got a +16-30 weapon and solid CC and/OR DPS skill, but that’s all they do, it’s so binary, if you do anything that prevents them from doing the thing they built their character around (Which ultimately just adds up to “BIG DPS”) they become entirely useless.

When the top players don’t feel like they’re worth beating and the system is luck based (especially to this extreme) it just demotivates me entirely from participating, even if I did find TBL players worth fighting, I’d rather just challenge them to duels in towns, where I don’t get stuck in a 3v1 because my allies get one shot by a “PvE weapon” and don’t know how to play around these players (and also don’t invest much into their gear)

I’ve never actually been in that situation in ToS, the matches I did do were actually not that bad, but I have spectate a lot of TBL, I’ve seen some pretty bad ones, I’m not interested in any of that.

For the record though there was also TW before Crystal Mine, and sure I can accept you not calling that PvP since it’s so focus on numbers over any skill, gear or intelligence, but when you actually do manage to split a couple people off of the 30 man raid they’ve got going it’s not that bad, it’s inconvenient to rebuff and warp back via camp, but like you could call it PvP and not be wrong.

As for Langhort and Fencers, they aren’t meta but that doesn’t mean they aren’t good, you can’t be so focused on damage, yea Langhort damage is bad, and honestly as good as it would be the silence too hard to land to ever be a main selling point to the class, but it is a controllable block that isn’t as clunky as the sub weapon block, that alone gives it value. Fencers give a ■■■■ ton of evasion and they have some pretty good defensive skills like their own block and the disarming skill. Nobody uses a Fencer at all, let alone correctly but that’s because most players have that PvE mindset of DPS being the only thing that matters, when it’s actually the least important thing in most PvP. There is a minimum amount of damage that you need to kill an opponent, and it will vary depending on the opponent, but once you have it anything extra doesn’t matter at all, a good player doesn’t need to hit 100k on someone to kill them, what is better than having extra damage, is having tools that protect you or remove enemy protection or even damage.

I’m a pretty patient person. I used to play an MMO that did it all right, it was destroyed by new classes and skills making the entire game much easier down to the point where you right click someone and they die. but that was 10+ years ago. I know nothing is ever going to be as good as it was back then but just watching others in ToS, seeing the game grow and improve, while trying to half ass my way to decent gear in the event that it does get good, is enough for me. I don’t need to PvP atm, that said I was spamming Gem Feud for a while, but I’m at like 10k coins and can’t spend em so now I don’t bother, when they fix the bugs on Chortasmata and the shop I’ll do it again.

When you don’t even participate it is easy to call out people who are actually in the field and making mistakes, but it doesn’t mean anything when you aren’t out there doing the same thing.

I guess, I’m not really calling them out though, like I said I don’t wanna mention names or ■■■■ talk the individual. You can think someone is wrong and yet not care enough to do anything about it. They are enjoying the game in the way they want to, and I have no interest in taking that away from them. It would be a lot of effort to actually farm out the blessed shards and gear necessary to compete and I just don’t have the motivation to do that right now. I’ll continue my low effort gearing for Gem Feud and then wait for the changes that make it worth trying. (while doing gem feud when it gets fixed, for real I’m still locked out of 2 of my most valuable skills simply because Chortasmta does nothing, and even if I win 2000 coins, it does nothing.)

Eh, with the introduction of being able to transfer and sell Transcendent equipment, it is easy enough to build a single full gear set that is stage8+ and be able to compete.

The barrier of entry is VERY low, there are just things like Frosterlord that need to be addressed.
