It is very stupid to blame your customers for being incompetence, if you selling a product, it is your job to make it as user friendly as possible.

I also donât follow YYMMDD, but all it takes a careful read and comparison with other compensation expiry dates to figure it out. Till now never once my compensation expired.
Not denying IMC is not at fault, but its not like customer do stuff blindly purely trusting the product. They do minimal checks at least.

the amount of stupidity in this thread is amazing.
srsly, just accept the fact that you read it wrong.
They could just put a timer on it, like temporary items they give (multiplys&resets) so no one would miss it (i guess).

Just fix the servers. Put them on 12 hour maintenance or something. Just fix them. No one will care how long it takes as long as things get fixed.
Or, do the logical thing if you arenât sure when something expires. (Since the date format is uncertain)
Look at the 3 numbers.
Figure out the earliest date it could expire.
If that date makes no sense(yesterday, 10 years ago, etcâŚ) a slightly later date combination .
Claim before then.
If you arenât sure of something, play it safe.
Same thing happened to my friend, some time ago, before the rank reset event. He said he was so sure of the date, i told him the format and the expiry date.
Lesson learned
But seriously though, the servers are completely unplayable. Canât play the game today at all.
