you don’t explore quests. you explore areas.
you know there’s a quest there, but where will it take you? that’s the point.
Either way, the fact remains that if all quests have quest flags, it gives off the impression that TOS is a quest-based game, which it isn’t anymore after IMC Games took out extraneous quests. It’s up to IMC Games if they want to put back automatic quest flags to make the game look like it’s quest-based, but in return it’ll drive off all the players that weren’t interested in a quest-based game.
It was pretty interesting wandering around on my alts and uncovering quests I missed the first time around! It was fun, but I can imagine the frustration for newer-to-mmo players, or just people that are on their 100th alt.
I think having a marker there after uncovering an area - or maybe after you’ve 100% explored a map - could be a safe compromise. Not even a quest marker, just some general NPC marker. It can be pretty easy to overlook NPCs especially if you’re just trying to run away from mobs, or just want to meet up with friends quickly. Having something there to look back on when you re-open the map would be pretty helpful overall.
i like the idea of making it optional , because now u guys are discovering everything after some CBT we will know where every side quest is , and new players will know too thanks to guides/databases…and missing this side quests will make u grind on the later levels…
I think there is enough hand-holding in this game as it is. It does no harm to walk around and explore a bit talking to NPCs.
