Tommorow will go something like this;

  • Server goes live, the game is flooded with all the try hards dying to be the first kid on the block with the new bicycle.
  • 20 min later half the people online lost all their dungeon runs, half their inventory or personal bank and take to the streets to turn over cars and set them afire.
  • 15 min after this, Steve, the janitor/gardener/coder/programmer/lead developer and CEO of IMC hits the off switch on the potatoe and the servers go down.
  • After 2 rounds of emergency maintenance the servers come back online.
  • The next hour and 45min consists of everyone taking to the forums screaming “COMPENSATION”, Steve (see job description above) obliges by giving everyone an complimentary jumbo dumpling recipe, your welcome.

Fields will be over populated. Instances probably unstable or filled on some of the servers. The regular expansion stuff.

1)More potatoes…

2)Server hamsters overworking leading to the mass extinction and the great ice(stink) age

3)More bugs and crashes…leading to a longer maitence due to R8 being introduced

4)Wardrobe malfunction for the new…any maybe old costumes…leading to ppl wearing the wrong costume /naked(Missing body parts)… …

Old thread, but it works.
My talt is on unable to connect because the bots took all the server space for the new hunting grounds!
And probably costume bugs because it’s such a heavy update that something’s bound to go wrong…

And the playerbase will be spread out even further across the maps. I once saw a MMO design theory basically saying large amount of levels is bad design because it can spread out players too thin. I see it might be the case with TOS now.

Yeah, I think that’s why they expanded the viable XP ranges for mobs from 10 to 20. It’ill change the leveling landscape a bit. But it works.

And lets not forget everyone rolling new characters once Miko gets released. I swear with how popular they are. We’re going to have a massive over population of clerics.

And Wizards rolling things with pryo in it when agni necklace is released…

And people that wanted a sword and board class remaking their squires into Murmillo with Rodelero.

Lets just hope Miko doesn’t become the 2nd chaplain in the long run. lol. hidden classes have the tendency of becoming irrelevant later on.
