You can still block attacks. The Shield gives 2 benefits generally; Physical Defense and Block Rate. The higher your block rate, the higher your chance at blocking. Pressing C just increases the chance by a lot.

Ehā€¦ I think it can. Not sure about that because I didnā€™t ever use a shield when I was playing however, Iā€™d assume that it does block magic seeing as magic canā€™t be dodged (from my knowledge). If anything, go watch some PvP videos with a Peltasta and youā€™ll figure out if it can or not. Iā€™m pretty sure it does though,

Iā€™ve just read through this whole thread so Iā€™ll try to answer as much as I can.

  1. CON stat adds block rate
    ā€“ Its not mentioned, but also not many realize it since hardly anyone needs this stat other than tanks

  2. Peltasta as skill attribute to learn ā€œPress C to blockā€
    ā€“ If other classes does not have similar skill attribute, they cannot manually block.
    ā€“ This does not give you 100% block automatically, it simply increases your block stat by a lot. When it goes high enough, then 100% block rate is possible.
    ā€“ Iā€™ve noted down the block rate increase in two occasions
    a) 60 block rate (Idle) > 368 block rate (Pressing C)
    b) 75 block rate (Idle) > 446 block rate (Pressing C)
    ā€“ I was using the same shield since Lv1, and the only change is my CON stat.
    ā€“ Upgrading shield does not further increase block rate, only PDEF.

  3. I havenā€™t had any success in blocking magic attacks.
    ā€“ Does not mean that it is not possible, I just didnā€™t test it enough to conclude this yet.

many thanks to you guys, that give me much info for me going to build the class. thought I lost interest staying in this forum cause IMC is likely forbid other region from playing which their region have their own publisher. so once again thx

You can get Attributes Skill from peltasta Skill, by press C button you will do block.

True but i am satisfied with the blocking mechanism of the game when i played the 1st iCBT. The only downside is you canā€™t block magical damage guess you better dodge it and run like hell if itā€™s a huge AOE.
