SEA Server Location

@MayMay @Queue thanks, you guys are correct I think.

I figured it out from the serverlist_recent.xml file in the game folder and used https://www.iplocation.net/ to check the server location. SEA and EU servers are indeed still in their intended locations though the IP addresses changed at some point.

Fedimian region (Frankfurt) IP: 52.29.228.194 —> 52.29.227.229
Telsiai region (Singapore) IP: 52.77.112.61 —> 52.77.36.116
Silute region (Sao Paulo) IP: 52.67.15.170 —> 52.21.229.204

Only Silute is evidently f*cked seeing things go from this…

…to this…

Anyways, I brought this up because from some reason the game, specifically on Telsiai server where I’ve always played, suddenly decided to give me a ping of 0.30+ (I used to get 0.10 or even less to 0.20 at most where the game was at least playable for me) when I tried to login again to catch up with a friend in-game. It made my QS a joke, and it’s not fun anymore to wait for the 2nd attack animation before your damage or skill actually lands.

Should I start considering using WTFast or something similar at this point?

My other games (Dota2, Battlerite) doesn’t seem to have such issue. I’ve checked my ping via command line as well as online speed tests and they give consistent results that I’ve always had. I think this can’t be because of my ISP.

which ISP are you using? i have the same issue as well and my ISP routing is horrible.

try pingzapper trial free for 7 days and it’ll help ALOT. mudfish is an alternative with cheaper pricing, i used to think these doesn’t work but trust me, give it a try and if you get good ping from there, it’s your ISP’s routing probably.

Globe Telecom in the Philippines.

Weird thing is that I usually have full bars in connectivity for DotA matches hosted in Singapore, and even when I’m playing on matches hosted from anywhere else in the world, I usually get 2-3 bars which is more than enough for a lagless game.

I’ll try the Pingzapper trial as you’ve suggested. I’ve read good things about Mudfish as well. I still hate the idea though that I have to spend additional $ for 3rd party tools just to make this game playable.

Unfortunately that’s something I guess we can’t blame IMC about since it isn’t everyone that’s having that problem. I know for a fact a different and more efficient ISP in Malaysia upon doing ping tests I get much more better response compared to my current ISP. Sadly the coverage isn’t there for me to change.

Without oingzapper for me is about 0.3-0.4

With oingzapper I get about 0.03 and 0.04 averagely

Thank you so much for suggesting Pingzapper! It somehow worked and has reduced my ping from the usual 0.3-0.5 to 0.1-0.2 (sometimes 0.09-ish even).

Here’s my current settings:

A few questions that you might be able to help me with:

  1. TCP vs UDP - do they matter with TOS? Is one better to use than the other for this game? I tried both and found that UDP seems to produce a more stable ping but that might just be coincidence. It appears to be still an undying debate in the web.

  2. Tunnel Selection - Is setting it to manual and sticking to a specific server location better or does Automatic have its advantages? I notice that at times the ping would rise randomly when I stick to one location when logging out and in again, forcing me to recheck the pings again on the tunnels before relaunching the game.

  3. On a different note, have you tried Mudfish as well? How does their service compare to Pingzapper besides being cheaper?

glad to know it helps you out! I’ve tried mudfish but for some reason i couldn’t get it to work. Pingzapper is much more easier to use and works a ton better for me that is.

Unfortunately i have to say that i’m not really a networking person though, so i can’t really help you out in that, but i know it has something to do with how they receive packets, one where they need confirmation you receive the packet and the other one is just throwing whatever they have to you (might need verification though)

i’ve manually set mine instead for pingzapper server locations and do a ping all to see which singapore server gives me the less ping. There are rare occasions one of the servers lag and you may have to manually change it from there. just ensure you choose the lowest ping and you should be good.

i have a feeling you’re using the newer version compared to mine, i don’t normally update my applications unless there’s a problem with it and so far mine works flawlessly

btw, i noticed your pingzapper is turned off though, make sure to turn that on else you won’t get routed properly, it happens to me at one point where i thought i was doing something wrong lol

Hi and good day.

Thanks you for the recommendation of Pingzapper ToiletMaster! Before I using the Pingzapper, my ping is really not in a good shape (200~300) even though I played in SEA server Varena (I’m Malaysia player).

Now my ping is quite low, which is 80~110. With that much of reduce can make my game run smoother. Thanks again mate!

Hey Kurokii,

Glad that it helps, are you by any chance using Unifi or Streamyx? I’m currently using Unifi 50mbps and I get really bad ping to the servers in Amazon.

I know that Time internet can give you a much better ping as I have that in my office and the ping is extremely great compared to TM.

I’m using 4G mobile Data Hotspot. For me the connection is OK, with a stable line of 500kbps~3mbps in my room.

I’m guessing that the servers in Amazon that you currently play had a bad connection with the PingZapper’s client, or maybe not…

Did you try all the PingZapper’s servers available? If true, then sorry. I don’t have any idea how to fix it.

I’ve only tried on Singapore servers that give me the lowest ping. I’m not sure about the others though as long as it gives me a smooth gameplay I’m more or less happy with it.

However for our internet here, I have a rough idea on what might have happened but this again just a theory. From what I heard our connectivity instead of directly heading to Malaysia to Singapore, we cross the seven seas from heading to US, different nations before it reaches back to Singapore.

Again this might just be an idea though from what I have learned upon calling them up. Pingzapper helps to fix that.
