Didn’t answer my question.
He says you’re white-knighting for IMC because you’re being unreasonably stubborn and refusing to accept the possibility that IMC screwed up, which given the company’s history with this game, only a deliberately ignorant white-knight could have such an opinion of IMC.
It’s incredibly unlikely that someone is going to be enough of a f*cking moron to out themselves on the official game forums, or anywhere that the devs are gonna see it. Give it a week or two, and some will start showing off to mock IMC for missing them.
I don’t refuse to accept the possibility. I’m pretty sure I’ve said it lots and lots of times. I accept the possibility that they’ve made mistakes, people make mistakes. I’d just like to see evidence of it too.
I don’t make judgements on possibilities. And nor should you.
People should surely be showing off that IMC missed them now. Doesn’t take much to black names on an image really. I’ve done it previously here on the forum several times. In particular when we were tracking worldbosses using mass-automation and camping characters to send discord alerts for bosses.
I can make judgement based on the evidence I have seen. Based on what I have seen and heard in-game from various people, I can say beyond a reasonable doubt that IMC has missed items. I am unwilling/unable to share the evidence with you. It’s your choice to believe me or not, but nothing you say can make me change my statement that IMC failed to collect all of the abnormal DPK items.
It’s barely been 24 hours since the whole fiasco ended. It would take an incredibly foolhardy person to start psting hard evidence.
It would still take an incredibly foolhardy person to ever actually do anything with a stack of items that IMC may or may not have missed.
Should they ever have a reason to check your account (not you, but you know what I mean), having sold a stack of obviously exploited items in the past becomes a permanent thing that could result in a ban in future upon discovery.
I don’t see how it’s at all worth the risk for anyone to do anything with them anyway.
Well, selling items on the market a week or two after the fact is different from going on the forums and announcing that you or someone you associate with has those items, and giving photographic proof.
Unless they have someone constantly dedicated to watching every market transaction and looking at the collection and selling history of each individual participating in the market (which I’d say with 99% certainty they don’t), they’re going to miss it.
If someone goes and takes 30 wizard bracelets and markets them at 100k each, players will end up reporting those, and THAT will draw IMC’s attention. But not the guy who lists 1 bracelet every few days roughly at market price. 30 million silver is 30 million silver, regardless if it takes a day, a week, or a month to obtain. And given the compensation results of this whole fiasco, it seems like it was definitely worth it.
Also, the reason people will wait is because IMC and public attention over this whole thing will be severely lessened as time goes on. It won’t matter if some guy talks about all the wiz bracelets he got and sold six months ago.
so anyone out there that won’t be abusing bugs knowing how this ended? getgud IMC…
I don’t see why it matters that I’m asking for that proof.
I don’t understand why there is a crowd of people in this thread who have taken up the position of being angry that someone has the nerve to ask for evidence. Something that would help significantly to demonstrate to IMC that they should put more work into it as they got it wrong. Something that would help to make the situation better.
There is no reason anyone should be angry about a request for a screenshot.
If you or others care that IMC got it wrong, and the outrage that it is hurting the economy is real, show IMC they got it wrong so they can fix it. If people deliberately do not show IMC how to fix a problem they have, then they can’t really be outraged that IMC missed the items, they’re actively hoping that it doesn’t get fixed so they can profit.
What they’re angry about is that you don’t seem to understand/accept WHY nobody is going to give you the exact evidence you want to see, even when it’s explained why multiple times.
It plays out like a comically bad sting operation, like you’re some FBI guy going on an internet forum to find potential terrorists by opening a new discussion to ask people to post bomb recipes and photo proof with timestamps of the bombs they’ve made “just so I have evidence you made them”.
Then they get angry when they explain the situation and the various reasons why you won’t be getting those photos, but you keep insisting on it.
Showing some random stranger (you) on the forums their ill-gotten gains isn’t going to help IMC. If IMC wants to see the goods and fix, they have the power to enter each player’s account. They had multiple maintenance sessions to do this, but they’ve so far failed to do so. The only thing posting those pictures is gonna do for IMC is mock them for their failure. For the photo posters, it’s just going to implicate them and.their friends.
As I said, they can sit on their outrage about IMC making the mistake if they won’t point out who/where IMC can find their mistake from. It’s fake outrage if they don’t care to get it fixed.
During the practonium pmp event I knew people in my former guild who had received 5 practoniums that remained there after his ban too.
It’s not fake outrage, it’s just a situation where IMC can’t win. Either they successfully removed the items, and some folks get mad about losing their items, or they fail to do so, and many folks get mad for them being unable to solve the problem.
The former situation would seem to me to be the lesser of two evils, which is what they went for. But the fact that IMC failed to carry out their attempt hurt them far more, and just cemented the public view of IMC as being inept.
Either way, photos of player inventory won’t contribute to fixing the problem.
So, I was reading this topic and I decided to create an account just to post some of my screenshots, since OP seems to be in complete disbelief of the fact that IMC can screw up and let some things slip.
I didn’t really hoard anything heavily, since I was just testing out if the bug was really happening. I started playing early in the morning after the first maintenance that supposedly “fixed” the drop issues that were happening the day before. Some people started saying on shout that the bug was still going on, and a lot of people were mentioning the maintenance and the “fix” (me included), me and some others also didn’t believe IMC could screw up this hard, so I decided to go test the bug myself at Spring Light Woods, and here are the results of a few minutes of killing some Shardstatues:
6 Wizard Bracelets (don’t mind the Kepa Dolls), not much, I wasn’t planning on hoarding those things, since that was obviously a bug.
Afterwards I went to the 320 HG to see if the cubes were also dropping like that. They sure were, I got over 30 cubes (all blue ones) in what? 10 minutes of farming? But those were the only things that got deleted after all the maintenances.
Since a lot of people were arguing on shout and still in disbelief, thinking everyone that was confirming the bug was lying, I sent a message on shout saying I just got over 30 cubes in just a few minutes. Some people sent whispers to me asking if that was happening everywhere, one mentioning 315 weapon mats, I told them I didn’t test it yet, so that’s what I did afterwards, I went to Pystis Forest, and it was already packed of people, I stayed there for a few minutes, and again, the results (on a link, since I can’t post more than 1 image):
3 Yellow Caro Antennas, and I didn’t have any before going there.
As you can see, I didn’t really hoard anything massively, but those items are still on my inventory (except for the HG cubes). Obviously I won’t do anything to them until all these investigations are over, I was planning on deleting them when I saw they were still on my inventory right after the maintenance that unblocked me, but I thought it would be better to keep them so as to not interfere with the investigations, but my account has no restrictions, so I assume I’m on “group A”.
I’m pretty sure a lot of people kept some items, probably people that hoarded a lot more of those than me as well, and I hope my post is enough proof.
Fantastic. I appreciate it. Aside from the unnecessary digs, there was no disbelief that a mistake could be made anywhere, I definitely said the opposite multiple times.
Although, what are we seeing here in these screens? Some sort of DPK bug still occurring? Or items that were acquired before IMC action that are still remaining after IMC action? I definitely never said that the bug isn’t still occurring, I was asking about items that were missed by IMC.
Congrats you have been baited to out yourself XD
Unrelated but are you using any addon’s or something too get 100 fps? o3o Cant get above 60
Turn off Vsync. Vsync’s job is to lock fps of games at frame multiples of the monitor refresh rate, which removes screen tearing.
Vsync locks every game like that.
As I mentioned on my post, I got all of those after the first maintenance that tried to fix it on Friday, before the weekend, and my account got blocked afterwards.
After being unblocked yesterday, those are the results, some Wizard Bracelets and some 315 mats still on my inventory, while only the HG cubes got removed.
@RoastedPeanuts as I said, I don’t plan on doing anything with those, I want to assist IMC and their investigations, I don’t mind if they can track my name or my inventory, as long as all bugged DPK items get removed from the game.
Interesting.
I wonder what thresholds they’re using to search for and determine what should and should not be removed then. I wonder if the lower numbers are the reason they were left behind for you? Would make sense to target, perhaps, 5-10 (and above) as 1-3 is really obviously not a person that was intending to abuse anything.
You earn some +karma for not even trying to exploit, other than the testing of it. Thanks for actually providing something. I do hope that 1 person doing so might get a few others that want to see everything thoroughly fixed to come forwards.
@Nathalie saluting your chivalry and a noble act of selflessness. If we can meet in real life, the tabs is on me
