RIP Market 21.06.16

Players bot and RMT, not IMC (in my opinion, those are the worst problems in this game). I am not defending IMC measures, because the game in its current state is not defendable at all and until now, the company has done nothing really good to fix it.

fix the market?
but… the broken market is how i make mah muney…
why u take away mah muney

i agree with the pricing bug though, and items not showing up bug

This system is rife for potential abuse. In other, bigger MMOs with much better market systems, people get regularly harassed for playing the AH.

For example, someone lists their arde dagger for 1.5 million. I list mine at an undercut of 1.3 million. The original lister gets ticked that I undercut them and has their guild report me. Then my item is stuck in limbo for God knows how long while a GM investigates. This is a way to legitimately grief people out of using the system.

Plus, what if some poor new player comes and searches for an item price like dilgele, sees how much the stupid estimate listings are, and lists theirs for the market price? People will spot that and be like, “Oh RMT” and report it while the legitimate new player has no idea what is going because they have no idea RMT artificially inflated the item.

Lastly, this concept of precious “report points” is idiotic. It’s not an actual punishment for someone who falsely reports to have their RP drop. The RP has no actual effect on the game, and if every report - no matter what RP the person has - counts, then RP means jack all. It’s not like IMC has a good track record of responding to bot reports anyway. If they attached an actual, tangible, real punishment for too many false reports - like banning the account - then okay. But nobody should be saying “oh but they’ll lose their RP” because who cares? You’re actively defending a system where players get points to essentially do the GM’s/devs jobs for them.

We will make another announcement about this new function with more details soon.

Previously they had the ‘AH pricing limit’ which i assume will be used.

a ‘LITTLE’ less/greater Value of what the current pricing is set on their current Market pricing limit will be used to determine on holding reported items. in your case which is a little less on the current price. you think that would be put on hold? i hope not. (if yes, then this system is really useless that way)

Currently not, but they have said it themselves, they will be ‘valued’ later on.

some good points.

i was wondering where the outcry was coming from actually until i re-re-reread the patch notes.
im sure they are just testing how it goes, if it works or not.
i mean, it wont. but at least they’re trying.

i love the market for how it is because of the changing prices, a stagnant market just keeps sucking up money with people undercutting each other. if you dont research prices and gain connections, you shouldnt expect to get the cheapest goods.

Nearly every single mmo has bots and rmt to an extent, it’s not much an excuse here. And the market restrictions made trading not only extremely hard and it also made silver buying more attractive unfortunately.

The market is just 1 example ofc. The community didn’t drag this game to the pits, this game came out the gates with many game breaking issues. It’s disingenuous to say that WE are the main reason this game is bad.

Lol yea, Imy trying to figure out how the community is the reason why this game is bad. White Knights in full force here.

Yeah, you are right, i was too rude, I was just a little angry because the so many bots and RMTers… and since today Im receiving their spam via whisper in the chat which is terribly annoying

I hear you. I love this game and I’m still playing it no matter how much my swordsman is gimped but I’d say that the community became an issue because of how IMC handles the game. I can admit, the countless rage quit and class reset threads, among others, can be off putting to newbies reading the forums at this point tho.

trump is going to win for sure

The community will always complain about something but if IMC actually patched the game, they would be complaining about stupid little things instead of actual problems.

That is true but like I said to the other person, this game was plagued with fatal issues at launch. Some that haven’t been properly addressed even now. The community itself isn’t why this game is fcked.

For instance, the original market and trade restrictions should have never been implemented in the first place. The community speaking out against them is what made them improve in the first place.

I remember Diablo II back in the days when Stone of Jordan was the main tradable currency, because when you die you’re dropping ALL gold

Yes. That says a lot about the community, considering the problems this game has (had).

I see some things don’t change, even after months have passed. I see you are still a PhD in Irony.

If they had been improved to any decent extend, I would be playing the game right now. Still cant buy half of the most valuable items because they (or their recipes) cant be listed at reasonable prices…so noone lists them at all.

Their brains are just to small to deeply think about the actual player behavior against the restricted system. There are many way to get away from the report system. This cause make losses more than benefits

Yea, the main improvement is that non token users can trade now. The market restrictions is still ■■■■■■, especially since a recent patch changed the min/max price for some valuable items like the catacombs club.

Still waiting for People to claim their items was hold because they were 100k - 1m Cheaper than someone else…

until then, all these negative feedbacks about the market report are invalid.

Now u can report any item with low price - lets crash this stupid auc.
