Hello, i didn’t actually play the closed beta so i actually have 0% experience in the game, i’ve been interested in the barbarian skill tree and i wanted to add barb c3 to my build, but since no one talks about babarians here’s my question, is barbarian outclassed by other classes?
Barbarians are strong, but the problem is that they rely too much on flat dmg.
so when they release the other levels (up to 500-600) barbarian’s skills will not be that good anymore.
thats why ppl say that is better to get highlander c3 (cus u have skylyer, cross cut, skull swing, that scales A LOT better with more levels)
but a lot of ppl will play barb and it is viable, but its not min/max stuff

I have not played closed beta too. But as I saw and ask for another guys, Barbarian C3 is very worth. Is better get Peltasta, Highlander will fall off. Barbarian can combo very well with Fencer they have a good synergy.
It seems like everyone is favoring Highlander over Barbarian. I’m personally going C3 Barb into Doppel. People seem to have a lot of different opinions whether Barb or Highlander scales better into higher levels, but you could say that Barbarians really rely on flat damage more than Highlanders.
In the end we’re playing a beta and we’re here to test whether that’s true or not. But yeah, it is really hard to gather info on Barbarians at the moment when Highlander is the current meta.
A person who tested Barbarian (and Shinobi) skills at lvl 270 and his feedback: Do people still build full dex?
I remember very well when Barbarians were “the current meta”. It was so overrated and annoying to read things like “Barbarian Full Dex is God! Get on your knees!”, but now the reality is different. It’s time for other classes have the opportunity to shine XD
However, Barbarians still good. Not as good as they were before the nerf and last iCBT, but better than Highlanders on PvP.
IMO, barbarians are only worth if you get all 3 circles for it (keep in mind that both the skills from C3 suck… What’s is worth about C3 is more skill points for C1/C2 skills and the attributes).
I don’t know how it’s gonna be on OBT now, but since I played iCBT2 I can tell you they were pretty strong. Indeed they were basically the “kings” of the game because Seism was an extremely powerful skill that did a LOT of overkills (basically, when you overkill a mob you got x3 exp that time), had pretty good HP, evasion, crit…well, they were pretty good overall.
Also they have access to a very good buff (Frenzy) and a good debuff (Warcry) that gets pretty good with Circle 3.
It’s also true what @Lenny said, though: they do rely on flat damage and I could start noticing it by the end of the beta (mobs ± lvl 200).
But remember that this is an OBT and we are here to still test the game and help IMC with class balance and stuff like that.
Uh, call me crazy but starting on the 29th we’re looking at the founders server opening and the start of ToS proper. Do you mean that there is going to be an OBT sometime from now to before 2AM EST on the 29th?
barbarian is considered lower attack class among the lower-tier, highlander is better.
Yeah, I agree. For Earth Tower Highlander is better than Barbarian.
