Why not make trade exclusive to guild members? Would make sense to exchange items without paying the tax only within close circle of friends.
Well, the trading restriction as a whole never make sense. Itâs supposed to be there to prevent RMT, but they bypass it anyway, so all it does right now is hurting the players doesnât do RMT.
I was part of an inofficial trading guild in the iCBT2, we were comprised of alchemists, squires and countless crafters. Trading was our blood, we traded everyday, grinded good materials, bought affordable recipes on market and making good equips out of it, even played with enchantments and participating in so-called matsgrinding parties with a dedicated Squire buffet-service. 30 trades per month would break us (we trade at least 10 times a day with our beloved customers).
No trade means restricted income. No trade means no socializing. No trade means encouraging solo-play and self-sufficient in terms of EQ-gathering.
I thought MMORPGs should encourage a fair basis of socializing without resorting to monetary measures?
only the proper solution is either 5 free TP per trade or sell a tome that let you trade so you donât have to buy a whole Vip Token
I also suffer from the market when I got and extra Vubbe Fighter Blood and I wanted to sell for 200-300 k silver buy I have to wait 1 more day to receive an old payment for 5k swordâŚ
this issue about trading make the game âbombâ in korea for a few months and now itâs our turnâŚ
they put a crafting class in a game where trading is allowed for token users
that is a great way to kill a game.
so if you ever want to become an alchemist or pardoner then you might as well spend $18 a month to have the rights to make an item.
also have the right to sell on the market 5 times every 2-3 days (havenât tried selling so i dont know how many days it takes before you get the silver)
I just came an idea that might help circumventing the trade limit at least partially for your guild. It only works if trading multiple items and multiple stacks of same item in a single trade is possible (I have yet to trade with anyone, I havenât even dared taking my FPs from the mail yet). Itâs also a bit tricky to organize and I donât know the details on crafting in this game that well but this just might work:
If you have trusted friends, make them work like a merchant guild for your crafting guild. Trade huge stacks to 30 different friends and suddenly youâll have 870 trades available for your customers
Downside of this is either you have to trust your friends really much or then they need to invest on your items first before the actual distribution to customers is possible. But this would make socializing worthwhile I guess.
This also works other way around too, you could organize one guildie buying huge stack of pots and then distribute them to smaller stacks and finally to every guildie needing them. Youâll lose overall available trades this way but it lessens the burden on the crafterâs side which might translate as cheaper pots when buying larger amounts in one trade, since the number of trades is limited after all.
I have no idea what crafters want for payment. More mats to make more pots and stuff?
All items excluding equipment themselves can only be traded once. This includes recipes, materials. I think I am missing the point of this because as a part of contract, I usually trade twice with the customer, one for intel/recipe/restmats and the other for actually delivery and payment. In group whisper (back then there wasnt a guildsystem), we pool in mats required for crafting and pay accordingly (thatâs also multiple trades). The way of distributing potions alone might work but quite limiting. But thanks for your idea!
Now you want free and easy trade, in few weeks you will say that economy is destroyed by bots, NO FREE TRADING for not paying players please. It will hurt this game more than few players angry because of limitations.
But Devs can make separate server for such players and all unhappy people can go there and live with f⌠up economy.
Why then other games such as WoW, Ragnarok online, GW2, FFXIV a many others have a perfectly running economy? they have no fee on trades, at least not a real money one. Can you explain that?
I suppose free trading 100%. Itâs dumb to hide it behind a paywall. I voted and got all my friends to do the same. I will keep this topic bumped.
People buy token for dungeon entries and 30%exp. Even without trade is worth.
Trade actually is useless even with token.
You only have 30 trade/month and ONLY if you and your friend has token. (Unlikely)
Trade should be free for anyone LIKE EVERY OTHER MMORPG.
I total agree mate, i found a really good sword my friend could use but we cant trade at all, i was like damit
Yeah i used to do the same thing in wow then i played the game, but now i am playing this and having a good time even though i cant trade with my friend xD
Pretty much everyoneâs experience. Who thought hiding trades behind a paywall was a good idea? It makes socializing with friends, especially new friends in a fresh leveling group pretty annoying, especially without a loot system. But look at the poll results. Much like the Founder issues, people with common sense are in the majority.
Yeah, iâm with you guys.
Please let us trade without having to pay for the Token.
I paid for the #1 founder and I definitely regret it.
Even with the token you donât really have a trading system ingame and there is virtually no economy to be had.
We need a trading system!
Trading in game is a necessity to the survival of any MMO, and limiting the majority of players is not a good way to make money. Perhaps giving a special skin/action to token users instead of trading would be a good idea. Maybe a slot machine type system that can get kill counting items? Special animation skills? Just throwing ideas out there, but there are many more ways to make money. Loved this game in beta testing, still love it now, but there could be some improvements.
If ToS is dead set on payment for trades, perhaps a 1 TP per trade system could work. Free players can generate TP, and having to use TP to trade would decrease bots buying megaphones to spam chat. 2 birds with one stone? Just my two cents, take it with a grain of salt.
Yes, these kind of threads are a must. We NEED free trading. Itâs part of the essence of every MMORPG, and disabling it behind tokens doesnât bother the silver sellers one bit. Itâs just annoying for real players.
Like and 100% agreed.
Exactly the reason why we need free trade! I feel your struggle. I had the same situation happen yesterday, i found a sword my bf could use and he found a staff i could use and because of no trading we canât give the items to each other.
I have NEVER seen a game hide trading behind a paywall, the closest i could think of is BnS who had made so that you could only mail things to people if you had bought something from their store, but even then people who hadnât bought anything etc could still be on the receiving end of getting mail. And trading still worked as normal in that game. I have never seen it be restricted like this, not to mention the token with its 30 times limit on trade. A massive joke is what this is at the moment.
Limiting trade like they are doing is gonna kill the game in the end, because who is gonna be arsed to play a game where they canât trade their friends or be the class they wanna be. As in example of people wanting to be alchemists, what are they gonna do? right now they are royally screwed over by how things are working. They have to pay for their services to work, its ridiculous.
And then restriction isnât gonna stop bots like some people think, bots will just be in a larger number then ever and they will all have token to put stuff on the marketplace, not to mention gold sellers will still spam. This is only hurting regular players like you and me who want to enjoy the game and have fun with their friends. If feel the only players right now who dont want this change is people who play solo that have no sympathy for other players, because if it doesnât affect them then it doesnât matter right? And apparently isnât an issue to other players.
A topic is great needs a bump.
