[POLL] Dragoons and Lancers - Will you use your precious Practonium on the purple spears/shield or save it for when the orange ones get implemented?

Of course, this isn’t an issue for those who have more than one lv.317+ characters since they’re guaranteed a Practonium for each toon.

It’s pretty obvious that most, if not all, Orange spears are better than the Purple ones.

  • YES, I’LL USE IT — We need the DPS spike ASAP! Solmiki will be better than the orange ones anyways.
  • NO, I’LL SAVE IT — I can wait; orange ones are better and who knows how will we be able to acquire another Practonium without selling a kidney or losing more hours rolling another alt to lv.317
  • UNDECIDED — or I’m a Pelt Goon2 and I need both the new shield and 1h spear (or I just wanna use a shield instead of going 2h spear), but I only have one guaranteed Practonium - WTF were you thinking IMC?

This is only a concern if you’ve reached rank 8.

If you haven’t reached rank 8 yet, you can take your sweet time and wait for the orange.

Also, new dungeon cubes have a chance to drop it too, if world bosses are too hard to kill.

Do you have a source of confirmation for this? There were a few people saying the same but I’m still looking for confirmation.

I just don’t have the time to roll another alt if I ever waste the practonium on this one.

Dragoons should stick to cata rapier for now

come on skills with high base damage, you could even do 100k with a broken weapon, lol

hold out for a better one

LIke drah bracelet etc.
So… .yea…

It’s a non rushable dungeon.

(require team work last part before bossing is to kill 80 260k flying dark monsters in 2minutes)
Basically objective base dungeon.

until it is confirmed that you can get it from dungeon or WB, I’m saving it. For 2hspear the orange is too much stronger to take purple now and suffer later.

As a hopgoon, I want the shield more than those spears. I need that CON and mDEF!

I dunno…that purple one hand spear is not that good imo anyways…I might just stage 3 my +12 brandish than wasting my practonium on that spear…but…if orange comes out…I will be wasting more shards…oh fuk this is giving me stress😣

Has anyone crafted the shield yet? I wonder if that AoE defense has a reasonable impact on gameplay.

I just got my prac today…and That is also what I am thinkinh righy now…that aoe def ratio 3…and add a roxona greaves 2…you will have 5…:thinking:…

You will not be caught in magnetic force or etc…aoe magic circles that easily or be completely imune to it?:thinking:

I thought AoE defense ratio would work like that but a friend of mine told me that attacks with limited AoE prioritize targets with higher AoE defense ratio. Let’s say Dethrone has 3 AoE. If you have 3 AoE def ratio, you would get hit and allow anyone near you not get hit because you’d “eat up” all the attack AoE.

Honestly, I don’t know how it works but I’ll make my shield once I stop getting those Keista potions…

Player characters nominally have 1 AoE Defense Ratio.

The game will first deal damage to the target within the AoE which has the highest AoE Defense Ratio parameter(Might also prioritize monsters by size and/or distance. Needs testing).

The first target’s AoE Defense Ratio is subtracted from the Attack’s AoE Attack Ratio’s charges.

If there are any charges remaining, the AoE attack will bounce to the next target and repeat the process until there are no more AoE Attack Ratio charges, or no more targets to choose from within the AoE.

The mechanic seems weird to me as well but I think it was designed to benefit parties with a dedicated tank (so he takes all the damage and CCs given he has high ADR) as if this game was ever designed to have a true one :joy_cat:.

Yep I just read that too…I just wanna confirm my understanding of it…so…that really is aoe def…not good for tbl…but good in gvg and pve

I don’t think it matters in PvE. I haven’t tried GvG yet so I can’t really say anything but generally speaking, AoE def ratio isn’t a problem for those with high HP/CON and buffs (Revive, Ausrine, Stone Skin and so on…). It becomes a problem when you’re (kinda) squishy and stick around people with less AoE def ratio AND can “absorb” a huge amount of the enemy’s AoE attack ratio. Honestly, I’ll make Lionhead Shield once I get my practonium (damn you mystical cube) and see it for myself on practice.

I crafted my lion head shield already…so far so very good…I dont use pots or …my hp dont go down when I solo 240 dun now…and bout aoe def ratio 3
…did not notice any change in tbl…:thinking:…in pve though is…I feel like I can easily provoke more monsters now…
