Playing with mouse mode

I have a difficult playing time with mouse mode because

When I want to interact with NPC, I use left click, but sometimes the quest requires to interact with monster too.
Ex. Nepenthes boss quest (LV35 map - Tenet Garden)

It requires to collect Nepenthes sap while it stunned, but with mouse mode left click will attack monster.

But i can finish the quest with keyboard mode also.

**Suggest solution : **
**In the control setting, the system provide attack button and interaction button separately in keyboard mode. But, does not provide the interaction button in the mouse mode. **

To make the system allowing player to select a interaction button for them, players who play in mouse mode will be very happy.

Thank you very much,
Lenessia

you are welcome.

I’m not sure what their stance on this is right now.
During iCBT2 i edited the mouse control xml to have the “E” button on the keyboard as interact button.

Edit:
But take the version nizidr posted.
I just checked and noticed they updated the xml a little since i made my original post.

Note: binding a button to interact with NPCs in mouse mode may help you aiming skills in combat: when you highlight Enemy and press interaction key your character will turn to face that enemy.

So far this thread is full of great information.

Has anyone found a way though to increase the scrolling speed of the cursor placement in default keyboard mode? I would love to get a cursor that I can move faster than a character moves when I try to cast a ranged spell lol

Play in mouse mode - it is instant there. Just point and click.

Yeah =( I got used to default mode last time though and it stuck with me here in ITOS too. Like a funky odor you can’t just shake but learn to appreciate for its foulness lol I was hoping my fix would be a simple xml too =(

Seriously though the cursor speed in keyboard mode is so slow that enemy players can actually outrun your cursor so that you may possibly never get the chance to hit them with that spell you wanted lol

Thank you for your helpful, @nizidr @Fuzzy
I can’t wait to see the result after weekly maintenance

I think it doesn’t work for me, any suggestion would be appreciated.

I’d like it if IMC would make it so clicking through quest dialog wouldn’t start spamming / moving your hotkeys around under the dialog window.

Sometimes it picks up my skill and things are whacking you and it unhotkeys it when you try to put it back and it’s like~

Aaaaahn!

Locking the bars doesn’t seem to help, idk if it’s cause it unlocks on zoning or what!

Thanks.
I never finished that quest on all my characters, thought its bugged.

I had this same issue! I thought the quest was bugged on me but changed to keyboard and worked fine. We just need an option to change the interaction hotkey

I had to change to keyboard mode just to finish that quest. It’s so dumb.

Unfortunately the interaction with monster wasn’t a problem during CBT1… no idea what happened :frowning:

To this I would add that targeting mobs is priority over anything else. Happens to me that when in dungeons, the companions get in the way of targeting mobs. If you mouse over a companion you lose the target you had and a wizard class, you can miss cast a skill. To start auto attacking this happens too.

Also, when you are moving with mouse mode, if you hold down the click, you should not interact with anything else while the click is holded, giving movement the highest priority of action of all.

Movement > Target > All else

There, my 2 cents

Ps: I change to keyboard mode to do those bugged interactions
