Players reported with 5 or more Super-Reports get locked automatically

To be able to use a Super-Report, a player has to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be rank 7 with his current character
  • Have an RII above 50
  • Have less than 2 false bot reports
  • Have not abused this feature

Restrictions:

  • Super-Reports cannot be used in PvP or GvG environments
  • Players cannot report players that they are at war with

Abusing this feature results in a temporary ban for the user.

This is basically the Market Report feature adjusted for bots.
Flawed just like most other suggestions but I thought I’d share it for discussion.

It’s THEIR JOB…omg if this is implemented we should be rewarded…silver or exp…anything to make it worthwhile.

Just give me player moderator status.

My reports are given priority to be looked at before others in line, and have a higher chance of acceptance than looked over. I can temporarily mute with a cool down so I cannot spam the power.

I will give up reporting cause it’s ■■■■■■■ useless… if reporting worked you people would have cleaned the crystal mines months ago :rage:

I gave up on doing forum reports long time, my SSD is not here to be wasted on useless efforts.

I have a thread with all my reports packed in one post. Tagged staff, and even so, most of the bots i reported stayed around 2 or 3 weeks, if no more.

Now that i look at it, it was a damn old one lol, it was by the time Julie was still in staff.

Good point, I’ve added some restrictions to make it harder to do that.

Of course there are still ways to abuse it, for example report players before you declare war on them but I can’t think of a good solution for that case right now.

So everyone who has used LKchat won’t be able to Super-Report? LKchat reports all spammers, I assume, as bots. Therefore your system-assigned credibility goes down, because even if those were spammer-dummies, they’re not exactly bots, but again, we don’t have an option to report spammers or other types of cheaters. Can anyone confirm this?

I would classify those RMT/goldselling spammers as bot since they’re either using some sort of automation to post messages (heck even PM users now) AND/OR obviously, indirectly/directly connected with bot users whose silver/items they’re selling/promoting.

Yeah but I’m not sure the algorithm would see it as such. If that’s the case, then gaining credibility is fairly easy and as soon as enough high level players with LK chat login in town, all the spammers get blocked on the spot.

That would be interesting, but shouldn’t that have happened already? I mean, there are usually more than a few high level players in town.

Makes sense.

I suspect these bots/spammers just keeps getting replaced as soon as the previous ones get banned. Big-time gold sellers invest in developing automation software/scripts from the creation of accounts to even auto-buying megaphones from TP shop.

These botters seem to be always a step ahead. :frowning:

It’s just lack of vision regarding the cause of botting being profitable. Make it harder to bot at lower levels, reduce the rewards at lower levels and maintain the risk at higher ones. You just have to make them invest extra effort, enough so the cost exceeds the benefit of doing it.

We were talking about that in this thread:

it seems feasible and requires little to no code other than DB changes. I don’t have the leverage in this community to have someone implement it lol I’d be happy if they at least give it a try, maybe a month trial in 1 server to see how it runs… dreaming is free :joy:

Terrible idea. Sorry. But this would be abused so hard.

Get 4 rank 7 friends and ban everyone in sight, is what would happen here. And you know it. People would be unable to play for days or weeks and probably quitting the game.
