If the cost of an item sold in US is $20, and was available for $10 on e-bay included with shipping because that item was sold there for $5, where would you buy? Naturally you would buy it on e-bay. Sure there is buyer beware, but for some, the risk has great returns.
Now for the company that made this product, what is to happen to them? Naturally if this activity occurred, they would bump up the price to make up for the loss. The damage is done, and the best the company can do is close the exploit.
This is the fundamentals of business when a poor decision is made.

If a simple google search can yield results for people to try out, what is there to stop them? The terms of service is there to remind users of what activity results in a penalty, how the person responds is their choice.
What I’m putting out there is the problem with regional pricing when targeting a certain category of games. There are enough reasons why enough MMORPGs are region locked, one being because if you were to do regional pricing for an international population, there will always be a region that has a favorable market due to many world currencies which is potentially game breaking to the community…

Handling distribution in regions is steam’s job, not IMC’s. Your argument is invalid.
Also if it really was a poor decision it didn’t really cause any serious damage. IMC could withstand it just fine by following their course set. But they never follow their statements, that already happened with fedimian server, now it happens to the prices. If only they could stick to their course instead of randomly twitching they would be so much better.
By the way, because of that “poor” decision they raised enough funds to launch the project. I admit allowing people to buy more than 1 pack was werid. Looks like it wasn’t intended, but imc allowed it because of theirs greed and they gathered more money thanks to this.

It WASN’T a more favorable market though. Now, however, those living in countries with a higher standard of living DO have a more favorable market. $50 to me is nothing. I could buy those founder packs daily and it wouldn’t be an issue. That’s the benefit of living in a rich country with good pay. Someone in Southeast Asia, however, would have to save quite a bit to reach that $50 most likely.
Region locking MMOs has almost nothing to do with fairness of economy. Why would Americans be locked out of Korean and Japanese servers? Why would Japan and Korea have separate region locked games? It has to deal primarily with the cost of publishing and server load/pings.
Why is this pricing such a big god damned deal? Seriously I’m guessing 95% of legit players already bought their pack a while ago and don’t have to worry about it. The people who are bitching must be people who for some shady reason want multiple accounts or want to try and glitch or game the refund system further.
Also are people forgetting this game goes free to play in a week and a half? I mean that right there is a reason for absolutely everyone to STFU including IMC. First off, price bitchers can just get free accounts then and secondly it puts into question why IMC did this to begin with. I mean, it’s pretty obvious the real reason they changed the price is b/c they weren’t getting as much money as they could have and it has nothing to do with bots (that’s just the PR communication making shit up) since once the game is free to play bots will be able to get into the game for free.
So basically, everyone calm your tits, who cares about them adjusting the pricing, and lets talk about what the hell IMC is REALLY going to do about bots because when this game goes free to play expect the ■■■■ to hit the fan hard.

That doesn’t make any sense though. It’s pretty obvious that they didn’t do this to make more money. The vast majority of players aren’t going to pay what is almost twice the price of any other AAA title. They are just going to wait and play the game completely for free. IMC is going to lose a fair amount of money on this.

so does such a thing really work? they can buy packs alot cheaper in different countries and gift it to your steam account? if it works then IMCs action makes perfect sense - if not well…then it does not?
kinda bad for other countries outside NA/EU tho - saw couple times in tv how a 65 years old dude is living like a king in thailand and he would be “average” in germany - simply because the Euro is worth alot there
it doesnt work like that. If you receive a gift that was bought using regional prices you wont be able to apply it to your steam account unless you are in same region. Stuff bought in US can be activated everywhere iirc.

However, due to the excessive ammount of complaints, they canged their plan and had a poll, where we had 3 different choices (well there was just 1 choice really) But never the less the majority of the community voted for the prices we have today.

Wait to play for free… which they just delayed… they realized they didn’t get as much money as they should have so they changed it. This company isn’t exactly forward thinking. Claiming it’s about bots doesn’t make any sense either since once it hits F2P the bots will come en mass.
I am disappointed they did delay the f2p release. A few of my friends, and future guildmates once they join, were waiting for f2p to start playing. They did this mostly because of player feedback though.
People act like they don’t read these forums when they are constantly doing things based on the player feedback spammed here. Everyone was crying that this game wasn’t ready to be released. Now it is being delayed. I sincerely doubt this was coincidence.
The same people complaining about the game not being ready are the ones who complain about the delay though. This community is literally IMPOSSIBLE to satisfy.

I am waiting on F2P too but I am fine with their delay if it means they get their ■■■■ together (note, I initially bought a founder’s pack and returned it due to the state of the game). Unfortunately, I doubt that’ll happen since they learned absolutely nothing from beta to launch so I’m doubtful they will ever be actually ready for the ■■■■ show that will be the F2P launch. Really though, I won’t mind slogging through a ■■■■ show if they would just fix some core gameplay mechanics. Namely I’m waiting to see what their revisions to trading are and seeing if they fix the spawn rates. If those are taken care of then I will come play this game again free or not.
Spawn rates were increased by 50% a while back.
I’m amazed at their stupidity if they’d let you play again. I actually lost a bit of faith in them for this one.
Their spawn rate fix did nothing, have you actually played the game before and after? It was stated many many times over that the 50% increase wasn’t to the actual spawn rates but something else. That or it wasn’t implemented. People still are sitting around waiting for 2 minutes for hte waves of enemies, and all reports of high level areas say they’re desolate of mobs and just groups of people waiting on spawns.
And yup, they said you’re allowed to return the founder’s packs if you didn’t claim the items. I didn’t claim mine since I didn’t want to use my token while the lag was still bad, ends up the game was super broken in other ways too so I returned it. I’ll happily spend that $50 again if they fix this ■■■■.
