Exactly what happened to me. I wouldn’t even try bladeNsoul now if it’s out (and it hasn’t). Went to FFXIV as well, reached end game content (T5 if you remember), and sold my account for 550USD. Got back my subscription costs and a nice bonus for time spent on the game.
Tried Inspirit CBT (heard it was similarly styled like RO, heck it wasn’t), got bored. Now playing World of Warships which just went OBT a few days back, great game while waiting for Skyforge releasing next week…
On topic, I don’t think TOS dev’s and co. will act like BnS, BnS were only interested in flashing their shiny toys and catering to KR market, we created the hype back then ourselves. At least TOS had the initiative to go Steam Greenlight, open and “man” this forum/community, open up translations to fans instead of “hiding my treasures”. I’m seeing some real effort here.
Of course it’s all speculation right now, it might pull a 1-2years blindfold on us if the game faces hiccups, but I’m sure the dev’s know better, even Indo publisher was quick to show their community there with tests. Let’s hope for the best I guess.

Also, I feel like the “Secret Store” or whatever that people were having trouble with was the item purchase system, which is what allows you to set up a shop that players can sell things to you (mentioned before in some dev stuff).
