I do the pinging also sometimes especially when a program is not responding. I dunno why but it do the thing most of the time.
That is called “personal validation effect”, but whatever if you feel better doing this, go ahead

the first image is of me attempting to connect, while the second one is the error sign saying I cannot connect to the server. any ideas what the issue is?
it’s because the Beta Test did not start yet. The server will be online tuesday 10:30pm EST

yeah I just realized what 22:00 PM est means. But you’re saying they delayed the beta testing from 9:00 tonight to 10:30 PM tomorrow? Any particular reason why?
not really long. if you consider 14seconds as “long”, then it is long.
Or yeah, it really depends on your connection. But it took me 14seconds to complete the patch.

However, you’re right for the rest of your last post, ping or tracert for testing your network is a more relevant way to use it.
