Ya people also like to forget the CD of skills - Skill A deals 2000 damage with a 6 second CD Skill B of the new “stronger class” deals 4000 on a 21 seconds CD - you get more burst but far less sustain dps.
Bash and thrust is a pretty strong skill for early and even late levels - you probably use it off cooldown while farming stuff or killing bosses and get them into your rotations for max dps output
