Today I extract my level 5 gem, after extracted I checked my inventory and I didn’t receive my level 4 gem. I try to relog and still the same. I want my gem back:/
I think it’s just bad tooltips.
Last I heard extracting any gem destroys it.
Noted in the replies.
But there is no information from IMC, about the gems will be destroy after extracting :/.
It’s probably documented in one of the change logs, but yes like I said I think it’s bad tooltips meaning nonupdated or tooltips that should be removed.
Ill try to dig up actual documented info.
Well, too lazy to dig too much (actually too busy eating chinese food i ordered nom nom nom). Send a ticket (yes probably will get a slow/automated response). It’s your only hope, and tell them to fix the tooltips if it still says -1 instead of completely destroys.

I believe that in the beginning, gem extraction would destroy the gem and keep the item. Then I think changes were made so that gems wouldn’t be destroyed, but only decrease by one level because it took a lot of mats to level up the gems and players didn’t like the gem investment.
I do remember the blacksmith warning about the gem decreasing a level upon extraction, so I’m pretty sure what you have is a bug.
