My Paladin Build

Is blessing fixed atk boost? or by level too

I haven’t tested blessing to know exactly how it works, but it definitely does not seem to be a flat number value. Still pretty okay at 200.

It might be, I tested it between me and some friends who were all full dex around the same levels, so it might also be scaled with how much DEX you have.

This is making Priest all the more viable. I could build a str/dex/spr Paladin with the priest path, and dish out some decent damage. But what about heals? I have the basic Cleric heal, and then the Paladin restoration heal. Would that be enough?

Restoration increases hp recovery and that leads getting healed more from heal, so that’s a plus.

A level 200 cleric class with 0 int/spr added heals for around 200-300. With Restoration aura that becomes 400-500, per tile.

However a mainly int build cleric at level 200 heals for around 500-700, with restoration aura that becomes around 1300-1500, per tile.

Just putting it in numbers if you want to build some form of a healer with very little to no int/spr.

I’ll be putting in spr, mostly for the SP pool when casting all my buffs and what not. And probably more str than dex, or substitute dex with con.
@FatePGN How does this look for a build path? http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/t47fptn86h/ (I might move the points from Aspersion over to Sacrament depending on how decent the skill is.)

It’s fixed. Only the attribute makes it somewhat scale (assuming there’s no cap)

I would think that at least some skills would scale to some extent, minus dumping points into the skill or stats for all skills to become even more useful. Lower rank abilities quickly fall off from what I’ve seen.

Wow, so restoration actually improves any health recovery effect you get, with natural regen being only one of the effects? Does this work with any recovery skill? If I had a skill that heals me for 1 every second, with restoration it would actually heal me for 300+ each second? Does it work with potions? Does Kirvis Aukuras work the same way?

This is a very interesting information you brought!

EDIT: Max level restoration should give +337 effect. It also has an attribute, which gives +2 per level. Going from 500 to 1300 still seems a lot. Does the paladin have 250 levels on the attribute? Is there some additional bonus here?

what about a tanky paladin?

I wanted to bump my old topic that I made before and update with a Paladin build that I have been thinking of. Str pally, with a bit of Con for defense.

Tell me what you think.

Max smite, max sacrament, turn undead is not worth only 1 point in it and since the cleric tree has % based heals now, you don’t really need high levels of restoration.

I’m not really sure what I should sacrifice for Sacrament though.

Leave blessing at 4 and aspersion 5, it’s just a 2% defense anyways.

Alright, sounds good to me. ;o I’m also planning on adding some points into SPR obviously. xD But more focused on str.

If you want turn undead, put at lvl 2 at least to get this attribute

CON alll the way for my paladin.

You were right the first time. Cleric got hit hard with the Divine Might nerf. Revive is an amazing skill to keep you in the fray, while Monstrance and Blessing are nice buffs. Sacrament is an alternative or addition to Blessing only if you plan to use basic attacks.

You could get Ressurection if you are aiming for support, but I am assuming you are aiming for more of a tank build. 1 point in Ressurection is not really worth it: the cast-time is a pain, and while a ress is always welcome, the HP you return with is low as hell. Heals are a necessity after a rank 1 ress, and it kind of wastes time. Some people like it. Personally, I prefer to leave the Ressurection work to the actual support builds.

I dropped Blessing and that point in Ressurection for Revive. You already have Sacrament, which isn’t limited by a hit-count like Blessing. Revive is an amazing skill to keep you going against bosses. I know some people really like maxing Smite, but lvl10 seems enough to me. It is a nice skill that supplements your damage, but you will spend most of your time using your basic attack.

Paladins are all about the slow path to victory by outsurviving the opposition, not by overwhelming it. I put the 5 points I took off Smite into Restoration. The difference between 10 and 15 in Restoration is 85 HP. Safety Zone lasts 20 seconds, Barrier lasts 60 seconds, and Revive’s invincibility lasts 5 seconds. That is 105 seconds of safety that could conceivably occur during any given combat, which would reward you back a total 8925 HP on top of Restoration’s lvl 10 version.

Now by no means am I saying a level 15 Smite is bad… that extra damage can mean a lot! I’ve just provided my reasoning for my personal choice of level 15 Restoration, but I can understand why some people opt for a higher level Smite instead.

anyone knows the % chance of skill works?

Unknown, but my guess is that it scales against monster level somehow. I also wonder what formula is used to calculate how much extinction SPR gives you with that attribute Turn Undead can get. If it was a flat number, there would be no reason to level past 2, so I assume the SPR is multiplied by a number below 1 to decide how much extinction is added.

I guess “maximum extinction” could also mean something unrelated to the instant death chance, but what it would mean, I have no clue.

I read it as number of attempts available. Still require clarification though
