Monsters distribution at the world map isn't that great

Agreed.

This distribution of monsters in a map (or collection of maps) really does make a game more interesting.
Just like in RO where porings are very common throughout the world and some sneak in to even high lvl maps (albeit only at lower spawn caps sometimes)

It adds realism to a game if you consider the ecology of monsters. also its just kinda fun to casually slay lower lvl monsters whilst grinding and maybe get their rare drop unintentionally.

There are 3 popolion in this game.

Orange Popolion
White Popolion
Normal popolion

Exactly, if they manage to get a balance of mob spawns like in Ro the game will be beautiful, hope they realize this and implement it.

ā€œconsidering the linearity of and the form of progression in ToSā€¦ā€

I think this is the main issue, but not necessarily a problem.
If we are talking in terms of comparison between Ro and Tos, then we have to keep in mind that the former was fairly open world, hence the distribuition of diferent leveld monsters was easier. Also the maps in Ro were way bigger and more open (generally speaking) then the ones in Tos.

I’m still in favour of a non linear mob distribution. it’d make the game more groovy, preventing massive character segregation based on their level.
