Monk/Zealot Stat Discussion

Hello all you clerics out there! New player here wanting to discuss stats for a monk oriented zealot build :

cleric (c1) , krivis (c3), monk (c3), zealot (c2)

I’m currently at cleric c1, krivis c3, and monk c1 and still have a rank reset voucher and a stat reset potion so everything is up in the air for experimentation.

Now what are the possible stat orientations for a monk focused build that uses zealot c2 just for the aoe clear?

I’m seeing people say go full str

or

2:1 str/dex

or

1:2 str/dex (enough str for good accuracy, then max out dex for high crit #work_in_progress

I’m leaning more towards the 1:2 str/dex ratio for my stats. Please feel free to educate me if this is a bad idea. Just here for discussion so I can learn more about the game, thanks for reading!

Full Dex like this one https://youtu.be/zlZycDqMMN4

When you reach the max level and play with different contents you will see that weapons matter, could be the most important thing even if you have to give up some stats (like buying a +21 with no stat or but +9 with good stats)

Thanks for the reply! From my understanding of most mmo rpg games, accuracy seems to be mainly found in the “dexterity” stat, but I see that it’s in STR for tree of savior. Is there a soft cap on how much accuracy you can have? Is that why it’s ok to go full dex? I would assume you’d miss a lot of hits if you went full dex and no str since dex doesn’t add to accuracy in this game. Please advise!

You can have my build for reference if you want:

Basic Stats = Full SPR
Weapon = Primus Two Handed Mace + 11 Stage 5
Armor = Primus Plate + 5, Stats SPR/CON/STR

Skills = http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/tdfmm5ll4l/

Much appreciated! What does SPR bring that benefits the monk class? I understand spr is for blind faith, but anything else? Any in depth reasons for going full SPR? Thanks!

In my experience, PVE-wise you’d be more concerned about being blocked than dodged by mobs. In PVP, you can always just switch to gear that gives you a good amount of total STR.

The full Dex is for attack speed. And the Str (strangely) adds accuracy. If you miss any hit (which I can guarantee it is very unlikely) your sissel bracelet will trigger an skill to increase your attack speed even more. But again, as you can see in the video, you don’t miss most of time. I already got a full Dex character and usually ancher are full Dex and work the same way

I’m just returning after a 2 year absence and am considering taking my monk 3 to zealot 2 in the next 2 ranks. Is full SPR still a solid choice, or is it gear dependent? I’m not well geared by today’s standards. I think my stats were around 40-50con, 110 dex, rest in str at level 280.

Honestly this is really up to you. My general advice is:

  1. NOT go full dex because NA server will never be able to achieve Ktos’s level of speed. Your fanatic illusion will also be really weak.

  2. Full SPR doesn’t make any sense here as your double punch will be super slow and probably hit like wet noodles. Everytime you use blindfaith you lose half your SP, and without kabb1 you are required to pop potions to get your SP back up to full. The 40 hit restrictions on blindfaith pretty much cast full spr zealot out of the meta.

  3. You will also want high level of CON to stay alive in high level content, keep in mind that one of your most important skill Fanaticism prevents you from getting healed. If you have 30k hp and you pop Fanaticism, you can easily get yourself killed.

So with that said, you want to have

A good amount of CON to stay alive (80k hp after squire buff?)
A good amount of STR so your Fanatic illusion/Immolation actuall hurts
A good amount of DEX so your double punch hits fast enough
A good amount of SPR so you don’t need to do double potion to keep your mana up

You need to figure out whats the balance between these 4 stats, going “full” on 1 thing is just lazy and will never work well.
