Monk Rewired - A Flurry of Blows

Im actually pretty impressed that someone else was thinking about a combo system for monks, this idea has been stuck on my head for a while and its actually pretty similiar to the one you posted, seeing this im guessing more people should be thinking the same way too coz we all love old monk RO style.

Going back to the topic and why i think a “combo” system would be good for monks:

DP its their bread and butter but TBH it gets too boring/linear when u are only spaming one skill non stop, sure you press some other skills from time to time but most of the time you’ll be spaming DP non stop untill you fall asleep of boredom.

A combo system would be very nice if its added like a “quick event” thing like it was in Ragnarok online, just like you said in your post, using double punch should have certain % of “autocast” [if hitting the key in time] OIP, GFF, HK, PS or EB ignoring their MAIN CD’s and adding new effects when used this way, also adding diferent combinations of combos and their respecive hidden efects. (like the ones you said).

Other stuff about monks:

1.- 100% agree with you about the changes needed to GFF, this skill atm its pretty bad. Being able to use it while moving would be very nice and also some sort of splash damage, also the animation its so SLOW.

2.- About EB:
1.- I would love if it had a similiar effect to “Frost pillar” what do i mean by that its, while using EB the area around your character will drown mobs into the blast zone and make them stuck there (But just if they get TOO CLOSE otherwise it might be silly on pvp) that way you can avoid being killed while using EB and the anoying mobs that just walk past your EB and start hitting you in the back… (It always happens…)

2.- I would love if it had some “chaneling” effect" so after the base duration its over u can hold down the key and keep “blasting” but while doing it your SP would be drained very fast and skill would be over when reaching 0 sp. (SP pots cant be used while chaneling) So basically kinda lik asura strike.

Oh well, the main problem its that monk its lacking some sort of aoe’ish gameplay and a combo system would only improve that if some of the hidden combos caused AOE/splash dmg and CC wich isnt imposible. (for an example of how to execute a good and tactic combo class look at Iop’s heart from Wakfu)

Saddly i dont see anything of this happening watching the direction that they took in their rebalance patch for monks… but we can dream
