Monk PVE skill build help please!

i have tried looking at the range classes and nothing caught my eye
musketeer maybe
but the reason i chose monk is that i was a sura in ragnarok so iam used to pretty much solo everything
thanks for replaying

i tried making my own build based on my sura experience in RO but i cant find a way to do the same damage output i did there

well energy blast is not asura strike, no one hit wonder here.

its the best damage skill i have seeing for monk
double strike seems good too since it doesnt consume MP at all

Trust me when I say STA consumption is a pain in the arse :p. But yeah still better than spamming a skill with SP. Spamming Double Strike after consuming a Small STA pill at 25 STA will leave you with 10 ~ 15 secs CD on the pill before being able to spam it again.

I pretty much solo’d the game up till now apart from the dungeons and I went Cleric C2 -> Priest C2 -> Monk for now since I’m level 145.

Cleric C2 offers Divine Might which may or may not be helpful (very honestly the skill sucks for solo play as a Monk. It’s more useful during party runs.) so I say you can skip it and go for Priest as your first class change.

Since you don’t have any STR scaling skill until Monk you’ll have to do with autoattacks and the Priest’s Blessing helps immensely. If you are going to Priest C2 you gain Sacrament which in itself is pretty crap later in the game but allows you to apply Blessing’s bonus damage twice on autoattacks only (Double Strike as Monk more or less becomes your new “extremely short range autoattack” tool but it won’t apply Sacrament which is a shame really).

I have no idea whether Priest C3 is worth investing into. Krivis C1 could do the trick with access to a critbuff in the form of Zalciai but I can’t say much more about it since I didn’t go up that path. Krivis C2 has Divine Stigma which gives up to +43 INT and STR after defeating an enemy which can prove more useful than Priest C2 with Sacrament as a Monk.

If anyone has an endgame Monk and is reading this I wouldn’t mind if you could enlighten us haha.

I’m going to put this here so that you can spend some time thinking about which way to go.

C2 Cleric -> C2 Priest: Stable support, damage dependent on auto attacks mostly
C3 Priest: Defensive based, low offensive support capability
C3 Krivis or C2 Cleric -> C2 Krivis: Stable offensive support through Zaibas, Zalciai and Divine Stigma
C3 Cleric -> Paladin: High support, burst DPS from Smite
C2 Cleric -> C2 Diev: High single target DPS, stable support
C2 Krivis -> Paladin: Good offensive support, don’t expect heals from this class as it’ll focus more on offense than defense

So in your opinion which is the most suitable choice for solo PVE ?

Be a Monk if you like it.
I just got to Monk and I really love it.
But a lot of people here get disappointed by the damage.
Paladin is good for PvE support. One day I want to play that class.
Diev is situational. People love it here but I really didn’t enjoy burst damage and then have to wait for cooldown.

ToS Cleric is way too versatile. Just pick one and check with us if it looks good.
Pick a build and then we’ll make sure the skills and the stats meet minimum recommendation.

Good player >>> good build.
Too many great builds with bad players infesting dungeons.

I know I’m repeating what’s been said but ultimately ToS is a multiplayer experience.

Although I’m leveling solo atm I do plan on being useful for party related activities so I’d pick anything that gives some good offensive support which is usable in solo play.

You should take the time to read up what each of the skills from each class up to monk has to offer and make your choice from there. Some people will argue this, but one thing I like about ToS is you can hardly go completely wrong in PvE (unless you go SPR or INT for some reason on a Swordsman class?) and you can always make your build usable at one point or another.

Early game full Dex because your main damage is Bless+Sac+Weapon auto-attack.
They don’t scale too much with Str and low level monsters don’t have high crit evade or high atk accuracy or many spell atk. You can even use leather if you want. They will miss a lot of hits on you.
Late game you will need Con to survive and Str to scale with Monk skills. Also Plate and Dagger is a must.

I’m too poor to afford Arde :frowning:

[/quote]We know it’s scary with tons of class choices and we don’t wanna jump in blindly at the beginning, and I will say again unfortunately ToS is playstyle dependent. Gotta trust your guts instead of blindly following ‘popular’ or ‘top’ builds. They earned their popularity and strength not because the build is great but the players are good.

Arde Dagger lv75
Venom or Karacha Dagger lv170

Those 3.
It needs to have element property attack damage.
It’s absurd the difference. You will face-roll anything with any class.

Well then I pray when f2p starts the Arde market crashes -.-

This game requires a lot of planning because you can’t change class and relay on a lot of money for equips, pets, attributes, scrolls…

You have to understand your first char will always suffer the most so usually pick the easiest or the one you will benefit the most like archer with free pet or swordsman fast paced face-roll class.
Keep in mind pets are account wide. Any new char can use it.

If you pick cleric first you will obviously be able to do everything too, even solo, but will be really really slow.
Heal, little damage, heal, heal, little damage…
Until you can actually back it up with money.

Everything changes when you have Arde Dagger
Or max attributes
Or best in slot gear
Or infinite pots
Etc.

I’ve seen Clerics lv40 with Sac + 150 blessing damage /every hit
Also lv75 with Sac + 150 Bless + 150 Arde dagger /every hit
Monk Double punch + Sac + Bless + Arde dagger /every hit

That’s without having to buy scroll, because any other class could do same thing spending loads money buying scroll with 1h Bless + Sac

Hope you understand what I mean

Just a simple monk build if you really dont know what to start with. get enough con to not be oneshot (50-60 is usually enough up to 200+) and str/dex in any ratio from 3:1 to 1:3. str nets you more raw dmg, carrying capacity and crit dmg, while dex gives crit chance as well as accuracy/evade.

Maximize the +dmg attribute on blessing asap and try getting equipment with elemental attack early on to maximize profit from your sacrament buffs second attack. (Arde dagger, enchanted headgears, etc)

I understand, it’s just that my bank account isn’t increasing fast enough :frowning:
I’m guilty for not farming, but how am I supposed to farm as a Cleric with KS-ers left and right @_@

(and yeah the point that I said I hope the Arde market crashes - I meant is that I hope my clerics can afford more Ardes)

I made two level 90 Archers to farm Arde daggers before starting my Monk (didn’t feel like selling Tokens to buy it). I got one last Friday so my Monk is on a roll now.

Really, Archers solo Necroventer extremely easy because they do double damage to flying mobs with the 2h bow attribute, and Necroventer is a flyer.

archers are famous for their farming abilities but they require good gears so they can do decent amount of damage + i didnt even look at the archers tree so idk which class is the best for farming

This looks solid
pretty much like RO sura with the ability to buff myself and heal
thanks for sharing the build

dont go priest c3 you will kinda regret it
