Linker Rank 3 - What do Spiritual Chain & Life Line do?

I’ve been considering running Wiz>Pyro>Linker>Linker>Linker>Alchemist, but there isn’t a lot that I can find on how exactly Spiritual Chain and Life Line work. I can’t find a single video or forum post about this.

Spiritual Chain - I know it trades buffs with linked players, but can you link your entire party so everyone gets everyone’s buffs? If so, is the range on Physical Link long enough for it to be viable in medium to large sized grinding areas?

Life Line - I really can’t tell what exactly this ability does. It sounds like you would use the highest stat from every player in the link, but the English translated spell descriptions says that it uses the highest “attribute” or “ability” from each party member. If you can use Spiritual Chain on the entire party, that would mean you could also use this on the entire party.

Also, please do not give your answer unless you are absolutely certain you know the skills work. The skill videos and descriptions make it sound like they can only be used on one person at a time, but that may not be the case.

Linker is mostly just used for linking enemies and typically i haven’t seen anyone take more then 1 rank in it for anything else.

Edit: I realize i didn’t really answer your question but what i’m saying is they aren’t worth it in my opinon don’t worry about it.

Wanted to go exactly same route but did little research and im almost sure they only link u with 1 person (still wanna try go linker 3 reset stat to full dex find full str corsair/ranger whateva class and look what dmg we can do :P) otherwise they would be op ( 5x heavy buff classes going max single stat…).
So naw i think o go wiz>cryo>psych(for a little dmg with cryo ice wall), so i wont be total pushover :smiley: >thau>crono>alchemist, with that flawless build i will need to do is run around and beg ppl to lvl me up.

It’s not worth going Thauma C1. He only has Swell Left Arm that doesn’t suck.
If you go C2 you get Swell Right Arm and more levels on the Left, tho…

But still, unless IMC buff/rework him, Thauma is pretty bad overall. (I got Thauma instead of Psycho C2, regrets…)

The biggest problem with Thauma is the skills look stupid that alone will make me cancel there buffs every time there put on me.

Well we will see in 2nd beta, if he will still suck then i go psycho c2 for more POWA.

I think even if he gets buffed I will still go for Psy 2. It was my plan from the beggining, but I got vexed since Thauma clothes are beautiful.

I was a C2 linker in icbt so I can answer your question about Spiritual Chain.

Spiritual Chain can link your whole party as long as everyone is standing close to each other. The chain stretches out pretty far but can break if someone walks off screen from another linked member. The important thing is that you will only get the buffs after they’re applied with spiritual chain on. For example, if you cast spiritual chain on a barbarian that has “Aggressor” on him/her, the party won’t receive the aggressor buff until the barbarian recasts it under spiritual chain.

Overall, it’s great for applying buffs from the swordsman/archer trees to other party member since they’re not shareable. However, some thaumaturge, krivis, and other caster buffs can be applied to party members without spiritual chain so it’s not mandatory to have a C2 linker to get those buffs.

That might have been a bug though (i would love it if it wasn’t a bug, but there is a chance). The same thing happened with Physical Link, you could link up to 4 people even if the skill description explicitly states that on level 1 you can only link 1.

Thanks a lot for the info. What did additional points in Spiritual Chain do for the skill? If it increased the duration, do you remember by how much?

EDIT: Never mind, found out the duration is increased by 5 seconds per skill point. Surprised that both the skill points and the attribute both increase the duration.

I guess Spiritual Chain would be mainly useful for melee classes? I wonder if there’s a list of all buffs from all classes. I’m planning to go at least C2 linker myself (maybe C3), but mainly for the higher levels of Joint Penalty. Hopefully the recent nerf would make linkers more of a specialty class than just everyone getting C1 for it.

I remember seeing Life Line only link one party member in a video, but I can’t seem to find it again.

So, does anyone know what Life Line does and if it is limited to only yourself and 1 party member? To me it certainly looks like Marionette Control from RO1, I am not certain though.

Life Line is used off of Spiritual Chain, so it should be a party wide buff, unless what Alise_Senpai reported was in fact a bug. Hope someone from the Korean CBT could comment on what it does.

Anyone test if you could transfer buffs along with the original user’s attributes around the chain? If archer classes can buff crit rate and stealth; wiz group surecast or group divine might things are going to get so interesting
