Lethargy, yes or no?

At least put 3sp in lethargy, to use the enhance attribute

pve = lethargy
pvp = sleep
im going for lethargy lv4 + sleep lv10

questions:
hit type dmg = any basic atk?
sleep works on bosses?

While it isn’t a mistranslation, It should be ‘strike’.

No, and that is good so, considering their mechanics in ToS.
Still, sleep needs an attribute that makes it more useful against bosses and monster groups. The current synergy with energy bolt is useless in practice.

If you will only be a Wiz circle 1, get 1 level of lethargy for it’s attribute that buffs Strike type damage.

If you go for more Wiz circles, I guess it can be of use maxing its level and the attribute that makes its effect stronger.

-98 damage (lvl15 skill + 50 attribute) is still pretty relevant at level 200, since you also have your equipments and Reflect shield to mitigate damage.

Makes me wonder who is going to actually make a Wiz C3 considering now you can backtrack and it could make sense for other ranks we haven’t seen yet.

Only if he gets useful for a future class. Until then, only Elementalists…

But I guess there will be at least one or two more classes with high cast time skills.

I’ll leave this here

I can use Sleep before Psychic Pressure, since being hit cancels the cast.

Can use it before Telekinesis, since it’s hitbox is weird/bad, I need proper distance from mobs so it can hit them.

Can be used before Firewall or Icewall, so you will have time do make the squares.

Can be used before Elementalist skills, if you don’t have Sure Spell to make it safe.

These are a few examples on how to use it for mobbing. :c

I’ve tried to cast Sleep often, but it doesn’t work out.
Most of mobs are slow, you can kill them fast enough, especially when grinding. There’s no room to cast sleep on 3 or 4 mobs. You don’t even feel the need to use it.
The cast animation is terrible. You have to level it up to at least 5 to make up for the animation.
At level 1, by the time start to cast another skill, mob already wake up.

I won’t disagree Sleep can use for mobbing. But it’s not practical or prove the usefulness, at least for now.

Well I’ve had some usefulness in using sleep that might be enlightening.

When I was partying with a Peltasta who built for STR, he would cast Swashbuckling and lure a ton of mobs to his location. I would then cast sleep on the enemies so they didn’t do damage to him while he just whacked away at the mobs, killing them before the debuff ended and in less hits than it takes to wake them up (only had level 5 sleep) and I went to kill mobs of my own.

Also, during a story quest at Tenet Cathedral where you had to activate a statue or whatever it was, there was no one in the room clearing mobs so the entire room was filled with aggressive mobs which if I didn’t have enough AoE skills to clear by myself. Archers were also an issue seeing as they could clear half of my HP in a few shots. So in order to complete the quest, I put the enemies who were aggroed onto me to sleep and activated the statue allowing me to kill at my own pace instead of having to clear the room to start the kill counter.

My Peltasta partner always block after getting aggro. So yeah, me and party members just had to kill them fast.

I don’t think my Peltasta buddy ever got the block attribute… weird I know but meh, whatever floats your boat I guess.

Well when you look at the wizard skill as a whole you realize eq and eb are only worth investing one point due to being terrible, scaling badly and them providing their utility as soon as you invest one point, Sleep scales extremely well and is a good pvp tool so it’s an obvious must max even if you do not enjoy it’s pve potential, energy shield uness it was a bug and got fixed prevents you from dying as long as it’s active so it’s again an obvious must max and then you have 3 points left, might aswell grab that lethargy attribute.

I still think wizard as it was in the icbt is a mess and really needs some love for the pve side of the game. It’s a pvp class in desguise you are forced to go through.

energy shield is really worth lv10?
I saw many players complaining about this skill…

I never used sleep the entire time I was playing. It didn’t work on bosses and mobs were easy enough to kill without it. I also hate PVP and will never do it, so sleep is a definite skip for me. From what people have said it seems like it would be worth it to put at least a couple points in Lethargy to use the attributes, then I guess everything else goes into earthquake, energy bolt, and reflect shield.

Well in later dungeons where boss mobs are spawned a lot and the boss takes a long time to kill, I think sleep would do well  Otherwise yeah it’s really only for certain specific uses ie. PvP and when you’re in a boss where mobs spawn like crazy and maybe some support… some.

hi, what do you mean by backtrack?

We used to not be able to go back in ranks ie. Wiz C2 meant you gave up on Cryo and Pyro entirely. Now you can go Wiz C3 and Pyro or Cryo C3. That’s probably what I meant by backtracking. … too long ago to remember. 2 months ago basically.

You only need one point in Lethargy to grab the +100% Strike bonus attribute, so it’s worth picking it up for just that. It’s amazing for any party members that use hammers, or Peltasta for their shield blows.

this strike bonus work only eartquacke?

Strike is a type of damage. Strike / Pierce / Slash / Magic.

Lots of skills do [Strike] damage, as well as most maces and some other weapons.
