People speak about RO a lot, but in the end its a niche game with a loud minority of players that appreciate its outdated design.

An outdated game that has a larger player base than this new game -.-

I hope that puts things in perspective.

I’m against non-binding BiS items being sold because it trivializes player participation in end-game content. Not because I’m “self-entitled” as you claim ^o.o^

People still have to run the content, and if someone wants to pay for it you shouldn’t care as long as the price is right. Wouldn’t you be happy doing the content knowing if you got something you couldn’t use, that you could sell it?

Or would you prefer it to rot in your inventory as some kind of badge of honor only you can see?

Being able to sell end-game content sounds nice, until later on you find out only a few groups are participating in end-game content and most other people don’t really want to bother trying to do it when they can just buy the gear from the select few groups/guild providing it.

It makes the entry of the end-game content completely unnecessary which sounds good for people who want additional options to obtain BiS gear without dealing with the end-game grind, but in my opinion it is unhealthy for the longevity of end-game content.

In any case, it’s just my opinion that non-binding BiS items are bad. I never liked it in other games (Ultimate Online, RO, a select number of items within the life-span of WoW such as Darkmoon cards during certain iterations, Wakfu, etc).

What I am okay with is former BiS items that become less relevant due to new BiS items that effectively replace the former ones. So when the new end-game is available, the old BiS items could be sold since they’re no longer BiS for the new content.

This game is a “failure” for many reasons, including bad communication, different treatment of servers outside of kToS, bugs, bad optimization, outdated design decisions, and also because there are more MMOs to choose from.

IMC can still save this game if they play their cards right. Until then, it’s really no mystery that this game is doing much more poorly than an established game, even if most of the RO population you speak of is just bots.

If the BiS equipment was even remotely needed to do the end game content, I would agree with you. In a game like WoW it made sense, since it had multiple tiers of raiding, and you could not complete tier2 unless you were decked out in tier1/2 gear. You could not even dream of doing AQ40/VanillaNaxx unless you were geared to the teeth.

In a game like this, the ‘BiS’ is a marginal upgrade(granted the game is still young, this could change).

Maybe i’m missing something here, but isnt the orange grade stuff still untradable? Assuming orange stuff is the BiS i/o purple ones… I dont get why all the rage here

about 1 month ago, they randomly just lifted all restrictions on everything out of nowhere and without notice… AFTER assuring the community a month prior that they would be changed to be team-storage only

edit: well…having it account bound is not a problem instead of character bound, i guess.

you could say bots will farm silver 24/7 and buy ET gears from the market w/o breaking a sweat.

if you’re not against with ET gears to become tradeable (player to player) then i can assume you’re either a bot user nor an rmt user.
