I wouldn’t advise playing during the maintenance hours, just in-case of problems that could occur as a result
or if it’s like a couple private servers i’ve hosted where it shows how many players you have online. Hmm 3 people on during maintenance, banhammered for obv reasons xD
Just a curiosity: Are the default servers online during maintenance?
@Topic: Is there a way to use Japanese voice in the Korean client? :c
i wouldn’t recommend to do this. in case if your character caught a bug, then you probably have to report. and with the report, you need to write in korean language and with the real owner identity of the account. that will give yourself a real huge trouble,
Welp, I like to live dangerously Anyway, this is something that shouldn’t be possible. The firewall should refuse connections during the maintenance. So… until it is fixed, enjoy or ignore it !
I guess. It’s no big deal to lose $10 xD
(and @jinfin)
I won’t ever try to login to test. I’m just curious because 3-4 hours are way too much for uploading the changes. Maybe they have their own internal test servers so maybe they are still checking if everything worked smoothly on all the public servers? If so how are they testing it? Wouldn’t it only work with certain accounts that aren’t blocked from logging in?
@MementoMori, are you able to enter the Character Selection and so? o:
By the way learning the Korean language doesn’t seem too difficult comparing to Japanese Hiragana, Katakana and some Kanji if this random site with a basic korean alphabet is correct. I wish I had more free time to play more and study Korean a bit, lol.
But, is there a way to use those Japanese voices? ;-;
Losing account progress is a bad thing tho. :c
It almost doesn’t even matter if you plan ahead and save now. With the introduction of the Orsha quests, there’s pretty much no major reason to grind prior to the Demon Prison Wall. Once players hit that wall, they’re forced to grind - and as soon as they do, they’ll realize how slow and unrewarding grinding is in this game compared to using cards. That realization will cause many to quit, as it did in iCBT2.
I lost all my friends to the Demon Prison Wall in iCBT2, and quit my first character because of it. It took a Reddit post plus a spreadsheet calc (and motivation spurred by hope for this game) to rebound on a second character. I’m not even sure I would’ve gotten through the grind either, since I lucked out and they upped the XP rates a day before I reached it.
Interestingly enough, Demon Prison is where I met other players who I ended up running a lot more content with regularly. I think the existence of quests and cards in this game really hurts it, as it should be trying to teach people how to effectively grind and work with others early on. IMC should really be spending more time on this type of experience if they intend it to be an integral part of the game, but most of their focus has seemingly gone towards new quest content.
If the Demon Prison Wall got the same treatment as with the addition of Orsha, we might be better off. Right now we have basically zero choices in areas to grind, and that’s bad for a game that wants to eventually focus more on the grind. From my experience, grinders tend to work when you have plentiful options for grinding that provide various different rewards to suit your tastes. ToS doesn’t have this, and the Demon Prison Wall dilemma proves it.
They really need to look at Demon Prison to see why it works as a grinding map and pretty much apply that to all other maps in the game.
Imo the Exp Cards are way unbalanced with monsters Exp. There’s no explanation in getting 4x Lv.3 Exp Cards for doing nothing and getting almost nothing compared to that from clearing all monsters from some map areas >.> (which I’m still doing from time to time to get materials and some fun moments but I’m being too slow for most of my friends who are just doing quests).
lol its not really demon prison that should be looked at
its the lvl 160 dungeon with no exp that creates a large gap in streamlining the levelling
if they fixed that and made it give you the same amount of exp as the standard dungeons going through demon prison would be fine imo,
dina bee farm, 2nd demons prison(the one with trees) and the other levels of demon prison(3 and 5) are nice alternatives, also most of the farm maps (shaton farm/reservoir, greene manor etc.) are nice to grind in as a solo player using classes with bad aoe, that cant handle demon pris 2 solo.
if the cancelling of channelled skills is fixed you can roll with a bokor and dominate demon prison 2 since zombie train can just keep an entire room cleared and they can just shove out parties solo.
Yeah this really confuses new players. Why do they have to grind on 5k mobs for an hour or more when the game teaches them that they can earn the same XP in 5 minutes by doing a quest and getting a card?
Heh the level 160 dungeon is so insignificant that I forgot all about it. You’re probably right, although I doubt people will be happy about dungeons being critical to the leveling process now that they require TP to do more than 2 runs of.
Yes, I confirm. Monsters and NPCs are here, the channels are all empty. It is possible to EXP and play as usually. The only thing I’ve noticed which didn’t work is the TP shop.
If I am correct after doing the Lv.160 “dungeon” a few times is that it is intended to be the same as Fedimian Mercenary Post missions and I think we can expect more dungeons like that on other maps in the future. I would like to have these cosmetic dungeons as secret spots or something like that so it would be funny as few people would look for them until someone updates a wiki with the exactly location xD.
I don’t think in this way but I agree. And there are people who already almost got 50% of the levels you can. I think we can expect the first Lv.280 in a few days or 1-2 weeks. Exp cards giving lower Exp and monster with a better Exp scaling would be better :c
Funny. xD Can you login just after the maintenance starts or do you need to wait some time before you can enter? (Thanks for being nice answering these things. I’m really a curious person who don’t have the guts to risk an almost certainly account ban >.>)
Sometimes the servers go offline for few minutes/seconds, but they remain online most of the time.
Omg. xD
Are you playing on Vakarine?
its always just been 2 runs though, i have no idea if the exp rates for iCBT and kOBT are the same, so i cant gauge the effectiveness of each run, i think the extra TP thing is not that bad though, you regen TP every 2 hours so you can just run dungeons all day each time 2 hours are up, if im not mistaken there is no limit to dungeon runs if your using your TP for them. but this is all kOBT stuff.
im pretty sure iOBT will be vastly diffrent from kOBT in terms of monetization and pay to X features.
yea its just a fluff dungeon for getting fancy hats lol, its kinda odd that it stands uniquely amongst the other field dungeons
the lvl 50, 90, 130 and 175 dungeons are all exp grinding and item grinding based, so odd that they left that massive gap between 130 and 175, it could be a sign that there are more dungeons around these levels, i did read in one of IMC’s interviews that they plan on adding more dungeons, especially to 200+ areas
Any notes on this 4 hour maintenance?
EDIT:
From what I can tell:
- TP earned now appear on Character select;
- You can cancel a learning attribute;
** The bug where u can learn 2 attributes at the same time is still there tho =o
-
How do you use TP to get more runs. I couldn’t do level 90 dg more than twice and I had max tp.

The devs said in an interview recently that they didn’t plan for the game to be quest based and after level 200 there will be almost no quests. They also added orsha at the same time and said they want to do a third starting city also. Basically contradicting…
So basically your going to have 3 quest lines at start? Then no quests after 200?
Like I said on reddit. I bet the most common forum/reddit title at launch will be “Im level 2xx and can’t find quests?”.
Personally I hate quests and would have been fine if the game was a oldschool grinder but whats the point in starting the game one way and then ending it the other way. >.<
