Its time for a RANK reset option

This multi rank system would be more fun if ranks were equipable and unequipable.

The problem will come when the power creep becomes noticeable on levels +300 and lots of class combinations that were expecting great rank 2s and rank3s just can’t do enough damage. I’m all in for a full reset as long as all I lose is my character and class exp (I wouldn’t mind attributes either). I just want the choice to be able to start again and fix my mistake with my current character

Except imc never promised your build will always be meta.
Meta always changes, people should know that before building a meta character.

Next time maybe build a character you like. instead a character others like in their party.

I want to assume with the power creep the game becomes much more party oriented. I spent most of my younger gaming career in FFXI. There was no soloing (Besides a few jobs that could do it. Beastmaster) I want to say IMC has this in mind too. I personally wish Mobs were a lot harder and required parties to take them down. But not en masse as we have now. I know that’s kind of off topic to what you’re saying and I don’t disagree with you, but I am pretty sure as we move further along, it’s going to be harder and harder for ALL classes to solo well.

Vote with your wallet and your time
In essence, it’s best to quit the game if the lack of resets bothers you. I can’t say for certain that it’ll cause IMC to change things because IMC seems to hate both players and money, but hey, at least it’ll free up your time and money that can be spent on games that DON’T spit on your time and money

You may be right in IMC’s motivation, but if that’s the case, they should have first tried to optimize the game instead of releasing new content. Whenever I find a grind party my fps top at 18 and during some events it goes below 1; and that goes for my whole party not just me.

This is a MMO. We’re supposed to party to clear content, but first let’s be able to play properly in parties. The party bug fix was a good step in that direction. They just need to keep it up.

Main reason why I dont like resets. Simple. So no meta can last forever.

This and a lot of arguments like it for some reason assume people want resets to be meta. Why does no one consider that people want resets FOR fun? I have a meta archer, it’s great, I farm everything I need easily, am competitive at world bossing, and helps me gear up my other characters.

Resets, in my opinion, encourage experimentation, class diversity and improve overall game experience. I already have my meta character, I enjoy them greatly and they do their job. I want to try some interesting builds that aren’t quite meta but seem fun, like a murmillo shinobi, or a dps-centered krivis/taoist. But like someone said above, I’m an adult, who pays bills, has obligations, etc. and like you, I make time to play the game in my free time because it’s fun, but I obviously don’t have that luxury to invest hours into it every single day.

I started playing a couple of weeks before early access ended and I still don’t have my main at max level, I’ve worked on a lot of alts as well (and rerolled my main, twice) but obviously for players like me and I’m sure a lot of players, getting a character up to max isn’t something that happens over night. So that’s where the hangup is, that I’ll spend months leveling this character, just to see that my interesting build idea doesn’t work at all, it falls flat and isn’t as fun as I thought it’d be. Now I can just scrap it and spend those months trying something new or, if I had a reset option, maybe try out another interesting build, or tweak this build to make something more effective.

I just don’t get why people are so against resets for the sake of having people play meta characters. Why does it matter to you anyways? The only way I can see it mattering is not wanting FOTM builds flooding TBL. GvG is already a lost cause as there are exploiters still running around with +50 gear dominating that anyways, so fotm rerolls should be the least of concern. But more importantly, it lets you try new things and find what you’re comfortable with.

In WoW, I had 4-5 different classes at max level, I loved having the freedom to reset my talent point and just try a completely different playstyle until the right one came up. I loved that when they raised the level cap and released more talents, I could try out being a healer, a dps and a tank on my paladin until the right fit and I didn’t have to just pick one and pray it was what was most fun for me to play. I don’t think it’s unreasonable and again, at the end of hte day, not having resets ENCOURAGES people to build meta, bc why would you waste time trying an off-beat build if the penalty is so high for investing that time.

No. just make a new char. There should be a significant difference from playing for free and paying to play.

F2P is ment to allow you play a game and decide whether or not you want to pay for it. a great entry point for new users. There is no need to continually ask for more free stuff. Just make a new char after you did your test. The game is ment to played through, not just rushed to the end content.

all resets should cost TP.

I agree with this

[quote=“Ranzai, post:1, topic:324353”] 4). You should keep the lvl of your attribute’s after reset - you paid for them, they should still be there.

How? you changed to a different classes how would the attributes be revelvent to the new classes you chose?

I think thats how it works currently

In the beginning I agreed and understand the idea of IMC and its plurality of classes by adding the theme of “Level of Team” that should motivate the player to create new and different constructions to explore the game in its entirety.

Unfortunately, today I do not support this idea. Currently it exists high level of imbalance of classes/rank, This has positioned in the top of PVP/PVE only a few builds (which we all know are) and lack of ability to IMC for solving this problem.

I CONSIDER FEASIBLE TO IMPLEMENT THE RESTART OF RANKS, with some sort of potion or some mission after fulfilling some requirements (example: reach rank 6 or 7, etc.).

Another option would be viable is to allow the player to have at least 2 trees of build, I’ve seen in several games and it seems a good idea. So the player could set a construction for suporte / tank / helear and one for dps-boss, dps-aoe, etc. This would help greatly to solve the problem of discrimination against some configurations in particular. You would have simply 2 chances to make mistakes.

That’s actually a fair point. I am only making an argument for why resets are good for players and for class diversity. They are absolutely NOT in the interest of IMC and I cannot see IMC ever implementing them. For one, they don’t want to spend the time and money it would take to implement class resets.

Secondly, and probably most importantly, it’s like you say, it makes you have to redo low level content, over and over and over. With a player base this small, it is a good thing in the sense that you can at least hope to find a dungeon run (still a stretch, even on a saturday in middle of the day on Klapedia I managed to have 5 people in queue for a 175 dungeon after like 20 minutes and couldn’t get another party after that, which I guess is just a reminder of how low the pop is at) but for IMC, fiscally it’s a toss up and probably ultimately makes no sense. They figure that if people have to keep rerolling, it’ll keep them playing longer and at least have people keep up buying tokens to ensure the exp boost. I personally think it would benefit them financially to allow resets since I think more people would spend money on things like costumes which are more expensive, but I won’t waste my time on that theory.

by the way are you in game? i made a toon on that server. Thanks

haha I can see it, the @ and edit worked! Also too bad I only ever see 240+ doing uphill defense, would be nice to see people around 120 actually doing it. Oh well. (I also happen to think we can solve a lot of problems by implementing remote queueing for dungeons, missions and saalus, like we have to TBL, but that’s a whole other topic)

I fully agree with you. However, Korea and Western games differ by culture and how they primarily play games. It’s acceptable there to an extent, where we are generally spoiled. They have been slowly working on it, and I wish it were something so simple, but when someone shouting can cause their servers to lag, you know the coding is made of ramen noodles. Lol

Starting with running off all Cores would be a huge step in allievating a lot of the problems I think.

that would be so awesome. Especially for leveling alts, I would love to keep grinding and questing and be able to pop into one of the dungeons along the way (it’d also help with the guide I’ve followed for all my characters which works really well in telling you when to use which cards to skip through levels instead of grinding but also says things like “now run 145 dungeon” and you’re just left there like “uhhh…if I can even find people running it…”)
