[IMC] How to fix the queue times and encourage team play. [UPDATED]

but this has been address in previous comment… Dungeon/Mission is not competitive, everyone gets exp, silver, cube…
so Ping is not a major concern, queue time is the main problem.

A real International All-Server-Dungeon/Mission-Queue seems like a good solution. Not sure if its technically feasible, but it sure does sounds good.

Drop rate is forever fcuked (pardon my harsh tone, but i need to vent…)
Dungeon limit to 3 entrance in iTOS instead of 5 in kTOS means less cube, less chances

IMC acknowledged the poor dun160 etc and deserted mission issue.
This was mentioned in their Developer Blog.
But since then, they only raised silver rate… New solution they would change Siaulai Torch 3min down to 1min

No official news yet how they gonna fix the poor Dun160 etc issue.
Not sure if the game will survive until they fix it…

Casually playing TOS is fine, but dont forsake the highly competitive aspect of the game, PVP/GVG class balances min-maxing , fps issue etc
These are the reason people kept playing the game.

Take moba Dota2 for example, 98% of dota2 player play casually, less than 1% people actually joined big prize pool tourny, and and another 1% is working hard to get listed into competitive team.

Dota started back in 2002 as minimap for Warcraft3… people play casually since then but community kept it alive and developer team kept things updated competitively.

Some games will equalize players and monsters for instances so the player levels doesn’t actually matter, but its toooo much work for IMC

TLDR: TOS is neither fun or hardcore, its TEDIOUS

You’re right about dungeons not being competitive thus ping not being that important relative to PvP, though I feel that having smooth gameplay comes with the enjoyment of the game, many would agree as I see so many striving for low pings just for general non-pvp game play via tunnelling, selecting correct server, subscribing to the best ISPs and even when it comes to FPS, they put decent amounts of effort in to buying good CPUs and GPUs or even tweaking game files for FPS boosts, all for the sake of attaining smoother game play. Though having slight jittery gameplay be it from high latency or low FPS can be tolerable if you just want to get the job done be it for exp or loot but still it will detract from the enjoyment and isn’t enjoyment of the game what keeps a player population. However would people be able to tolerate death inducing 1-2 second or longer lag spikes in their cross server dungeons?

I acknowledge the competitive portion of the population as I myself am also competitive however there needs be a balance between competitive play and general all purpose (or casual) play. Games like Dota though are made with a high bias towards competition though, could say competition is one of it’s foundational concepts? ToS is built with a different concept, there is competitive play but… I wouldn’t call it highly competitive (highly doubt there will be any ToS esports with big prize pools) especially compared to the other mmos I play, as again this game doesn’t really require much skill and even then I face palm so much when I enter a mission and see people who do not know how to utilize their characters in such a simple game properly… Don’t expect them to know the full potential of their classes but at least learn 70%… but I digress.

Class balancing is also an issue but from my post above I said ‘thats all I have for now’ because I didn’t really want to make the wall of text longer, going in to every single detail on why this game is lacking/sufferring and how to remedy them would take a Bible to write.

From what you said above, doesn’t that mean that 98% of DOTA2’s ‘casual’ population is supporting the game and keeping it alive for the 2% that is hardcore? Without that 98% would DOTA2 still exist or remain competitive?

yes, Dota have casual player because there is something for them to play, and also there is drama/cool-video from the hardcore players

Dota have tourny because it has such a big playerbase, that even regional tourny becoming a regular show on the net

Take soccer/football for example, everyone can play soccer/football, but not everyone join the football club. But everyone is following the English League/Fifa etc…

A game has to be competitive first so people have a reason to play.
Casual is just to fill up and create the hype etc.
Casual is the follow up of things, but never the main highlight of anything.

In TOS, we have come to a point where casual dont even feel like playing the game anymore…
Casual dont even know why they login TOS anymore…
Let alone hardcore player looking for a legitimately competitive game…

Im not asking TOS to be another Dota with million dollar prize pool tourny…
Atleast dont make TOS so sucky that its a one-sided pvp/gvg…

Give us the reason to play TOS again!
Now i feel like zombie login and creating/leveling alts…

Yep I agree with you.

Classes Balance: Re-balance useless and underwhelming skills and classes. Nerfing what is strong is not going to make what is useless any better.

PvP: One more PvP mode, a more open map and real PvP balance. HP potions should have less cooldown. Balance and fixes.

Dungeons: Very good ideas from the OP, dungeons should give more EXP then they currently give because of how much time it uses up.

GvG and WB: This game has some real FPS issues, for most players environments this crowded (laggy) aren’t enjoyable at all.

QUESTING AND WINGS OF VIBORA: I honestly think both should be made a little easier. Not really easier but you shouldn’t have to do everything over and over again for all characters. For example if repetitive quests or side quests or at least wings of vibora rewards were usable for your other characters you would much less likely quit the game instead of rerolling.

Did you guys read the idea?

To have the OPTION of global vs regional queue in the menu. If you want low ping you tick regional and accept the wait (you can have higher pingers join you) or you can choose global to queue faster and not care about ping.

The point was you would be able to choose what you prefer.

I’m afraid our population is too low to split into two queues.

Don’t troll hauk, u know damn well I wrote it that global queuers could be matched into the ‘regional’ queues, but regional queuers could only be placed on local servers.

That is still splitting into two because regional queuers won’t go into global queue

We need this fix, please… ; _ ;

lol 26 people in queue is a lot. During offpeak you are lucky to reach 10, its literally impossible to do missions or dungeons.

Peak is only just seeing the start of what happened in offpeak times a month ago.

It is literally game ruining, you cannot even play 200+ content because there is no one to form groups with.

26ppl from lv100 to lv279

thats, a, lot…

momohi is lv145… good luck rolling alt coz ain no body have time for low level content

questing, daily exp card quest and monster kill count vibora yield higher exp than queuing 1hr mission

It is “a lot”, meaning it’s not offpeak time. This means people wait 29 minutes (happened to me a lot of times at least) like I did even in peak times ;;

Can not play :frowning: Can not level due to no one doing dungeons. Can not level alts due to being at dungeon levels.

RIP game.

We need this fix :frowning:

how? import more immigrant?

but the best we can do is getting hundreds of bot!

no real human willing to try TOS… not anymore…
or less if you are nitpicking

I’d like to endorse OP’s idea.
I also think dungeons should not have a daily limit.
Rather, make it so it’s worth running it in it’s entirety. So people won’t just rush everything. And honestly even if they’d rush everything, that’s fine. Entry limits could be dungeon specific rather than global entry limits.

Or maybe with way better loot rate like previously mentioned by OP, but you can only get the loot X times a day. Then you’ll get EXP only. This would encourage people to level together through dungeons and would also allow people to be in dungeon queues 24/7 thus making the queue faster.

From what I’ve read people just log to do 3x Missions and log out. So all that crap about the fields being forgotten is just White Knight bs.

ehhh, but its true…

Fields, no1 have any motivation to do that exp card thing…
atleast not those who have more than 5alts…

hrmm…

Nothing in this game is more repetitive than the instances. I don’t know how you people manage to live with 3 dungeons, 2 missions, 2 saalus, 2 uphill, earth tower, 3 more dungeons and 2 more missions and 2 more saalus on an alt, then another 3 dungeons and 2 more missions on another alt. Doing all that takes all day even without queues.

I will agree with level scaling. It’s dumb that missions which use the same map for everyone from 100-280 have level difference problems. Scaling would also help match up exp runners with higher level loot runners in dungeons. Breaking players up into narrow level ranges is really bad in general, not just for instances, especially since there’s a huge number of levels and only a tiny fraction of them can play together.

Soloing the 160 dungeon every day for bracelet recipes is the most boring and non-social part of the game. I spend most of it semi-afk while summons fight the mobs. Bringing another person would risk them getting the drop instead.

Screw your instances. Move all the rare drops and bosses to outdoor dungeons, raise the spawn rates through the roof so there’s always more mobs than players, and increase channel capacity.
