kill counts = grind mate
The thing is people get stuck because they donāt know about the kill counts and just use exp cards whenever they get them, because they see those cards as there complete quest exp which many games feature besides this one. So if you laugh at people getting bend over by this at those level ranges well dunno what to say. They are just playing the normal way but it just doensāt hold up that way.
What the game needs is a lot more maps at the 130+ range i general and maps that either yield a lot more exp cards for quests or more quests to keep people busy with leveling.
With lvl 100 missions the game basically forces you to use a token 30% exp from quests and 1 dungeon + 1 mission extra which boosts your exp gain each day drastically with the same amount of time.
People with a token wonāt have much issueās that also grind kill counts + explore maps. People that just walk one way of the map side + do the quests they see and move to the next map ( which works perfectly fine at sub 100, because there are loads of maps and quests ) will stand completely dry the moment they hit higher level content because there simple isnāt much content at those level ranges.
So what needs to happen is:
- get kill counts standard on your screen like the addon does + says the reward or boost the rewards of it
- more maps at 130+, or more quests, either way more cards to make the leveling flow easier.
- be clear when a map is 100% explored that you get 3x cards for it, so people will walk the extra mile.
I played extremely safe, so atm iām at 160 with about 253 lvl 6 cards, 188 lvl 7 and 72 lvl 8. So i got enough cards to push myself forwards. My mate that plays already from the start and is 164, has zero cards as she always uses them directly and has issueās because of it.
so basically, youāre saying thatā¦
IMC is the one to blame for the players not bothering to explore deeper into the game other than just following the quests like sheep?
my 1st char didnāt use token, rushed to every quest, eat xp cards to follow the recommended map level. Rarely did dungeon and mission (it was bugged and left me with a very bad impressions. It was still in the early founder access though). Now sheās stuck on 181 limbo.
my 2nd character, I saved money and at lvl 100 had enough to buy a token. I didnāt rush. I try to enjoy dungeons. When I hit required level to do dungeon, I think i got 2-3 days of instanced dungeons missions (so, 9 entries each dungeon). I take it slow, only maybe doing quest just for the cards and map completion in my level range. Now, she is level 164 with enough XP cards to fly to 183. I havenāt do lvl >164 quests, mind you but I think if I do, I can fly to 200 easily because of exp reset at 186.
so, the conclusion:
- buy token and use it. 30% xp and 1 additional entry is huge. Just buy it.
- Donāt rush. Enjoy your dungeons and missions. Milk them as dry as you can especially 145 dungeon. Myabe 2-3 days for each dungeon and missions to be safe.

You donāt have to do a single kill count on your way to 180ā¦
Seriously both towns quest line, farms, dungeons, and missions⦠Iām not going to go into detail because I donāt really want to explain it, if I wanted to really create a guide I would⦠But Iām not so get over it. Besides there are enough of them floating around.
The only time you get stuck relying on kill counts is if you popped cards too early and also skipped orsha or kalipedia quest lines and skimmed through quests. I took the time to test this over 7 different chars to see if I could shave time off 1-177 (6th job change). Although if I see more posts pop up I guess I should make the guide, but honestly itās not really that in depth.
Yes. Because they intended for quest lines to be hidden and you to speak to npcs and find out what they were. The available quest tracker was a third party thing by someone else. Imc never intended people know where they quests are without exploration, and some of the quests still donāt show up on it because the game doesnāt register you as taking them until you have talked to the npc, ala old school rpgs.
I get the world is used to having a list of quests handed to them at each level, but hey thatās not how this was intended to be, just the release of the quest tracker allowed people to take the round about easy way.
Around 235+ assuming you squeeze every single card left from map exploration. If you do a few monster kill quests you can probably get to 240 due to the reset at 236.
the more fingers you can fit in it the worse it is
I can play one Sunday since I work Mon-Sat, so I do the mission daily though, and every Sunday I always do quest below my level as always. Now I have more than 300+ lvl9 exp card and just finish alemeth forest quest but I already level 231. I think I never need to grinding because of the mission every day and can only play on sunday. My exp card lv10 is still untouched. I calculated it right now. I will reach 250 just keep using it, but my level still above the map, so I donāt need to use it, and I still have ton of quest left to do.
IMC should do something about the 1-280 gap!
No, really. The game was probably not designed to hand over the level cap on a silver platter. Levelling guides can be easily found across the Internet. Heck, there are several in this forum. Thereās even legit advice in this thread.
Getting stuck the first time ā fine. You should have learned from your mistakes and done more research. The 1-280 gap is sooooo well documented, thereās a lot of material to learn from.
